remington_270 Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 Inside College Hockey names Lamoureux national goalie of year GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- InsideCollegeHockey.com named UND men's hockey goalie Jean-Philippe Lamoureux (Sr., Grand Forks, N.D.) its national goalie of the year today. Lamoureux, a top 10 Hobey Baker Award finalist, leads the nation in goals against average (1.64) and save percentage (.936) while playing the toughest schedule in the nation, according to two different rating systems (KRACH and PairWise RPI). Last weekend he was named the most outstanding player in the nation at the NCAA Midwest Regional after he stopped 79 of the 82 shots (.963 save percentage) he faced while leading UND to a 5-1 win over Princeton and 3-2 overtime win over Wisconsin. Lamoureux stopped 38 of 39 shots against Princeton and 41 of 43 shots against Wisconsin. Quote

Frazee should start for us....APRIL FOOLS! (Oh wait, day too late ) Every team does love to see him in goal, unless its one of the rare games where his head is actually in the game, then you can watch out for a shutout. The Hobey for JPL...no chance but wouldn't be terrible if he got it, he's deserving. Quote

nodak hockey fanatic Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I don't know why people are saying it's over. Stats on the "Hobey Tracker" say Oshie and JPL are rising while Porter is falling. Hobey Tracker that was before porter's five goal, six point performance at the regional i'd love to see jpl win it, but the odds are still with porter Quote
brianvf Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I smell a Hobey Baker trophy as well. For Porter. Quote

Hobey Tracker thats last week and the voting in in and sealed. its very very hard for a goalie to win the hobey, just is. not a long list and poster had a hell of a year and has been a front runner all season. doesnt mean jpl isnt deserving, just hard for a goalie to win. if he make the top 3 hobey hat trick today that will be a hell of a acomplishment, hell of a year for jpl jpl had a hell of a weekend again but porter also dropped 5 goals in 2 game last weekend as well Quote
Old Time Hockey Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 College Hockey News is a garbage website! Bunch of idiots. Miami had 3 players on the first and second teams. I am happy for Phil, but I bet he doesn't really care about this so-called award! Quote
RexBanner Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 I thought the consensus was that college hockey fans should not listen to anything INCH says. Quote
