Didn't hurt to get some of the AFB talent as well. Not as much of that right now!

Any post holiday announcements we can anticipate. Any other Juco or FBS drop downs coming our way that has not been announced?
-
Have to wonder if they think about moving Heidlebaugh? A freak of an athlete. Or this was insurance because they don't know what they have. Is it August yet???
-
Why is this on here

Schwabe is s great athlete out of Thompson. Would be nice but heard he is leaning towards baseball.

Agree with the optimism. This was the 1st FCS playoff game for Bubba as a head coach. Just like the team, he also is still learning and getting better each year as is the staff and the team. Football is getting relevant for the 1st time in a very long time. I was at the hockey game last night at MSG and in our section between plays and periods, everyone was on their phones following football. Was pretty cool! Everyone is disappointed and no more than the the team. We keep taking steps. I for one am excited for what is coming next year!

We are very competitive in 4 major sports. The question I have is if we move to the Summit league, do we need to reinstate Baseball?
-
It's like everyone is writing off Heidlebaugh already. You kidding me?? We don't know what we have yet in him. Everyone needs to take their meds, come out from the ledge and relax.
-
I don't know that Rudolph's offense fit his style of play... I did like Joe in the pocket.
-
Got to go with Brad H. Everyone has to temper their expectations though for either guy. Brad H needs the time. But you don't have to change the offense much with him. Scale it back some perhaps. Brad is more like Keaton. He's a big strong kid who can make a difference with his legs. Ryan B just, well, isn't that kind of QB. Remember when Keaton first started he averaged like 70 yds passing per game. And let's be realistic, Keaton hasn't exactly been lighting it up the past few weeks himself. Would be nice to see what we have. With Brad under center perhaps it causes everyone else to raise their respective games to another level to support the young guy....

Perhaps they read the chat cause they were awesome today!

Depth, depth. That is what depth looks like. It didn't hurt that the QB's your talking about were both All Americans and one now the early leader for NFL rookie of the year. I was really hoping we'd see Studs development continue, especially after how hot he ended the year last year. But he is really tight throughout the first half of the game. His growth seems to have tailed off. I think it hurts that Clive is out, that the line hasn't come together. I am hoping that he can get hot earlier in the game because we really need him to take the team on his back. Our defense is most effective when we can pin our ears back and have opposing offenses in predictable situations and playing from behind all the time is going to wear them out.

True. Even so, he was playing against a lot of current NFL DB's and linebackers from the SEC and getting it done. Talent or not, you have to lead, you have to execute. Just sayin, not impossible for a kid with a supposed ugly delivery to kill it in the right circumstance. If over the past three weeks should tell us anything is that we are not quite there yet. We have a lot to be excited about. We have very talented young guys contributing from from TE, to WR to DB etc.. Regardless of who the heir apparent is at QB, he'll have the most experienced/talented line we've had in years, tenured RB's, WR's and TE's in the system up to three years and playing that whole time. Plus quarterback's in the system, working on mechanics, perhaps even getting a few games experience before Studsrud leaves. I think Brad is just fine. And I use Ketchup with my Crow if I'm wrong, but I confident we're good.

Far as back up QB is concerned, we don't know what we have in Heidlebaugh or Bolinski and we have another year of Studsrud. As far as the Tebow comment for Heidlebaugh, forgive me if I'm wrong, but Tebow was one of the winningest quarterbacks in college football history, and he was more athlete than QB. And this is college FCS. He'd have to hand the ball off, and be a threat with his arm and feet, but ultimately we rise and fall with the OL and RB's. That is our game. I don't care if Heidlebaugh wind mills to throw it, so long as he can do that and be effective, who cares what he looks like doing it! Heidlebaugh is an athletic kid that they could mold into anything, and they are keeping him at QB, what does that tell you? We either trust the coaches or we don't?? Wait another year on Bolinski, perhaps a year in the offense and the weightroom and he challenges for the #2.

That video is great. Needs a little sound tweaking but would love some back stories into the world of some of these guys just like TTD with hockey. Keep it going!
-
I don't think Joe fits Coach Rudy's offense. Studsrud is the prototypical hybrid duel threat that is required. Heidlebaugh is a better athlete than Joe at this point. He's one of the better athletes on the field anyway. I feel bad for Joe because I liked him behind center. It appears that Heidlebaugh will get a shot until the kid from the Cities is ready or Bolinski blows up next year. And Brad H could be very good. It's just uneasy when you don't know what he brings yet. But I remember how we felt when Studsrud was brought in as a freshman. The sky was falling! The coaches see something in Brad H, in Bubba we must trust!
-
To me Heidlebaugh looks like Keaton did as a freshmen. I think Heidlebaugh looks like he has better down the field ball skills at this stage. Given reps would probably be fine.

Stop the thread by not commenting. Let this die. Dudes an assclown. Move on. By spending any time on this just lends him credibility!

Jordan Schmaltz was quoted as saying that his advice to Nick will be to stay. -
A little surprised that since we have a Cirrus plant in town they wouldn't go that way. I drive past it every day.
