Sounds like Tyron Vrede made the final roster on the Ottawa Redbacks in the CFL. Pretty cool to see him get his chance! Also with Winnipeg starting RB out with injury we could see Brady Olivera get a bunch of carries in their season opener.

He has some pretty good offers so far including FBS Northern Illinois but he still decided to come visit UND! Looks like the Bison have shown interest in him in the past.

You keep skipping over the problem of all the other sports teams at NDSU!!!! That’s where the main financial burden is to move all sports to the MWC!!!!! NDSU football could financially make it at the FBS level but can they finance the rest of the athletic department????? It would be very difficult!!!! Way more than 2 million a year that you are complaining about.

I don’t think playing in the MWC for football would be underwhelming at all. It would be a step up from the MVFC with the addition of 0-2 P5 games per year. Maybe an FBS football only league could be created that could leave the rest of the sports in the Summit……????

Moving up to FBS isn’t just about football, and I don’t think any smart people are arguing that nDSU football couldn’t move to a G5 conference and not be successful. These conferences are not recruiting schools to join solely on how good their football program is. If so they should kick many of their schools out, but why don’t they????? It’s more than just football. So what are these big $$$$$ media deals that nDSU is going to bring to the MW? So if UND was so financially weakened by moving to the Big Sky how would that be any different than nDSU moving to the Mountain West????? The travel cost for football would be well worth it but what about the rest of the sports…… sorry you have to add more women’s sports and not drop more of them………

NDSU’s campus is a dump, Fargo Dome isn’t far off either…..

The MW would love to add NDSU for football but traveling to Fargo for women’s soccer or men’s cross country is a ton of extra $$$$$ these conference members cannot afford to spend. They will just add the Montanans and be better off without the travel

why are you on this forum again? If UND is so beneath NdSU why do you feel a need to come on here and brag? I think most UND fans would gladly take NDSU’s success and season ticket numbers but you cannot deny that your fan base is falling off and getting less interested for many reasons. The rest of NDSu outside of their football program is a dump!

Montana State is almost double in enrollment and their program isn’t a slouch in football either. Both have stadiums ready for FBS. I bet the two schools move up as a package deal.

Kansas and their basketball program is very desirable to any conference. They get into the P4 conference because of their basketball program. Big Ten would fit great for them.

If those guys are not 100% there mentally they don’t have the same risks as a gymnast, especially a gymnast that has the most difficult routines in history. One little mess up and she could get a very serious injury. That focus is huge …..

If the Big 12 doesn’t dissolve it will pick from the top teams in G5 conference. UHouston and Memphis would be top pics in my opinion. Boise too if they wanted to accept it. UCF wants to get to the P5 level too if they got invited.

Kansas is the only desirable member of the remaining Big 12, the other P5 conferences don’t want to add any of the rest. I bet the Big 12 will have to backfill with new members to keep their P5 ambitions alive. The big 12 already has a waiver to have a conference championship with only 10 teams so they may need to add more to get back to 12 the big 10 could poach Kansas and Iowa State at a minimum and maybe add Kansas State and UWV to be nice where the rest of the big 12 would go would be G5 conferences or add teams to hopefully stay with the P5

Big Sky and MVFC could have the opportunity to move up to the MWC but there is no way any of those FCS teams are going to be invited to the Big 12. best case scenario for the Big 12 is that they only lose Texas and Oklahoma, with Kansas and Iowa State staying put. The Big 12 would only need to add 2-4 teams to remain a viable conference. Memphis and Houston are likely candidates with UNLV and Boise State as other options but they may want to wait for a PAC-12 invite. Central Florida or some other popular G5 east coast teams may be an option to fill out the conference with 12 teams.

I wouldn’t commit if I was him either until he finds out what P5 offers he may receive. Kansas State would be tough to turn down if they came a calling….
