I don’t think they would cut him, he has only gotten better since surgery and is a cheap backup. hopefully we get to see him take a bunch of snaps this year

What if we finish 7-4 and one of the wins is over Boise, NDSU or SDSU. AND this team is good enough to make a run in the playoffs? Might take that scenario too if we actually make a run in the playoffs.

I guess we have proven we are one of the top teams in the MVFC but we still have a ways to go to gain respect from the rest of the FCS and their voters. No reason so many Big Sky teams should be ranked above UND and SEMO…… SEMO??? Are you kidding me?

The Big Sky teams have not earned the right to judge the quality of the MVFC until someone in their league wins a title. No reason to think the Big Sky is better than the MVFC. Hopefully the noncon schedule comes out in the MVFC favor this year.

Anything less than 8-3 and it will be a disappointment. We cannot lose to SDSU, NDSU, Boise , UNI and still call it a success. Time to show the MVFC we are here to stay!

They were probably talking about D1 for a sport and a lower division for the rest of the sports. The Fargo media wouldn’t be peddling it as a possibility if it needed some hard to get exemption.

Hawaii doesn’t have any exemption to be in the MWC for just football. It was a conference decision. Football only invites exist in other conferences too and require no permission from the NCAA. where the heck did you get this misinformation from?

Any G5 could take them for a football only invite. I’m not saying it’s likely or I think it should happen but it could happen . Odds of a full invite are even less likely. To deny it could ever happen is repeating the failure to move up to D1 when NDSU did.

Only way UND and SDSU move up is if it’s all the Dakota teams. NDSU can do it alone but might be the next Idaho if they are not careful.

NDSU can afford FBS because they have more big donors and untapped student fees they can draw from. UND doesn’t seem to have the big football donors that can afford to take UND to the FBS. Champions Club is a big sign of the difference. I think UND is maxed out on state funding and student fees. The money needed to go to the FBS has to come from donors or increased income from football attendance etc. UND would need the fans support that NDSU gets. NDSU cannot afford FBS without their big donors as their tickets, teammakers, etc. is maxed out.

Well technically they didn’t need it for athletics. They probably could have tried to cut athletics to pay for it …..

Don’t disagree, who would pay that much to see some no name teams in the Fargo dome. Hard without UND and SDSU at home whether they want to admit it or not

Yeah but NDSU can afford to fund a higher FBS budget. UND is about maxed out. We don’t have a non profit paying some of the bills. Take away hockey spending and our budgets are similar to except we rely on student fees and state funding more

NDSU has the funding opportunities and the donors to pay for FBS. Of all the Dakota schools they have much more support to make the move. I agree NDSU would have to add a women’s sport but that isn’t stopping them.

UNI and MoSt would leave the MVC for the AAC. Problem is the AAC doesn’t want to add anyone. The Bison fans also think that they are worth 7 mil per year if they were in the FBS, I need to get me some of that koolaid
