I know the feeling, not sure what we will see from UND......I expect they will play hard!! If I were in charge, our 1st offensive set would include 1 TE, Wanzak and Santiago out wide, Brady at HB, JJ at FB. Choose your poison. Our defense has to be prepped for more beef up front, whatever form that may be.
-
Not change, wrinkle with personnel was a suggestion. We won't stop anyone with opposing TEs putting our small backers on ice skates.
-
Need the Travis Tritt one back, or does that offend all rednecks?
-
Tamas is a hitter. He didn't put any extra into that hit, just the way he plays. He smoked a Utah WR week #1, legal hit. On the film, he loads up his left shoulder, easy for me to see being a former player. If you don't prepare for the impact, which he did with his left shoulder, you're going to get hurt.

This is a very legit question. In the older days, we often had a big and heavy outside backer along with an outside backer like we have today. Against a 1 TE set, the bigger outside backer would flip to take that blocker on. I honestly made this point a few days ago to someone inside the program. When an opposing TE puts our 210 guys on ice skates that's a concern. I think we have a number of DL that could fit this mold. I'd take the most athletic DL we have in space and give it a try. The downside is predictability, the other team should realize that this backer will be the 'rush' backer most of the time should it be a pass play. But it's a trade off we might have to take. (I hope this makes some sense) And really, an outside backer that is 'on' is much like a DE anyway.

Wrong, slide was too late, good non-call. Strev, tough as nails. I like the kid for his toughness and feel for the game.
-
At game speed I thought we knocked Strevler out on the sideline. But, he got up and didn't miss a beat. Someone more tech savvy than me can probably find the play.

Expressing displeasure through decreased attendance

I really don't have a problem with this analysis. Life in general, don't reward what's not earned. Need a big bounce back week in GF. In spite of my joke about season tickets for sale in the game thread......I am doubling down with about 25 family members and friends for Saturday. -
That's kind of why I had us a little lower. We won't see Stockwell or Holm for a while. We could have an all injury line-up that's better than the team on the field at this rate.

UND - #19 That was generous. One behind Weber St. USD - #14 Bigger jump than I thought. The target is now on you at 3-0 UNI - still in it at #24

The game when the Bison O-line were literally tackling our linebackers and d-line under the context of 'cut blocks'? It's the only time Lennon complained about officiating. UND sent the film in to get reviewed. It was a total collapse of rules. People often wonder how we shut NDSU down 2 weeks prior, then couldn't stop their run......now you know. It was cheap, dirty, disgusting, and they got away with it.

Thanks for reminding me.....I was on that team that took that beating, it was from USD, not SDSU. We had Morningside the next week, then took care of the Bison the following week in GF. We truly were asleep and unprepared for that game, just like today!! So history shows a bounce back is possible but this 2017 team has a lot more to overcome than my '95 team. We were healthy and had more talent than most opponents in '95.

Historically you don't see drops like that, but we got spanked.

Predicting UND - 22 USD - 16 UNI - up a few spots with close loss
-
Nice call Iceman, 27-10 for USD was the closest, even if it wasn't too close with a pinch of reverse psychology. Hats off to the Yotes. I actually enjoy watching them, just not when they are kicking our butt. They have a solid identity on offense, fast pace and good scheme, great QB, some decent RBs, workman like WRs that made plays, and lost their left tackle and didn't miss a beat on the O-line. They stacked the box on D and stuffed us pretty good when we were overly predictable and their corners challenged and handled our receivers. Their corners hold a lot but they have played like that for years. They had Keaton on the run quite a bit and covered well for extended periods of time. Overall, they beat us up pretty good and were gracious about it. Their fanbase had the correct read on the game, and us.......not so much. Great game Yotes.

I think we are searching for unicorns to dominate on the O-line to pound the rock with 8 and 9 in the box.
-
Year 1- don't have the horses on the O-line Years 2,3,4- don't have the horses on the O-line........ Ahhh, maybe run an offense that has an identity and doesn't require 3-4 All Americans on the O-line.

Who do the Vikes have tomorrow?
-
Hope we keep it closer than Drake.
-
The Yotes have 2 freshman on the O-line, one of them a true fresh......

Let's get SD Mines back on the schedule-
