  1. Us, too.
  2. Ouch!! #1 to #11 in the Big Sky................
  3. I watched some highlights and I don't think Davis has the QB play that is so deadly for us. I also watched Weber push them around with ease. I think Weber is more physical than us, but we might get our boring and predictable run game going, at least a little bit. Bottom line, I have no idea what team and scheme shows up on Saturday. Anyway, I'll homer for the good guys 31-17 after rightfully calling the USD game was going to beat us twice.
  4. This guy.
  5. Friend of a friend was the 1996 (I think was the year) Big Sky Linebacker of the year, a Bobcat. He didn't rub the beating in too bad.......
  6. Derailed- f'n spell check. We flawfully play a system on offense, don't use our talent, I have been critical of that.
  7. You seem really concerned about hype, which doesn't show up on the scoreboard or stat book. A derailed season and lack of use of an RB doesn't make you the genius you are trying to portray.
  8. How is the UC Davis quarterback? We have 3 L's from teams with dynamic QBs.
  9. I would sign for $1.00, then hold on and enjoy the ride.
  10. No. You really can't for a lot of reasons. Schmitty isn't going to throw away 5 years of playing and 17 years of coaching the 3-4, which often is tops in the league. There is a wrinkle you could do within the 3-4 but no one listens to me........
  11. I am with ya- Cam Hunt, Dijon Murray, I wonder if these guys even exist, never seen them on the field. I think we overly stacked the d-line and have missed on LBs, I have stated my frustration on this prior. We might have a fatal flaw with our systems, both O and D are overly complex, on a 1 to 10 scale in college FB we are in the 8-9 range. Yes, it's hard to believe our offense is complex!! College football has trended towards simple, mismatches, read plays, get your best player(s) the ball in space while we are flipping 6 guys around pre snap to run a toss play out of pro-I. On defense, our system can be a work of art but again, so complex at times we mentally bog down, play hesitant, and make it tough for a newby. Tasty tidbit - My SU source, told me in one of their Natty games, their D called 3 defensive calls all game, disguised a little and just play.
  12. I tend to agree with this. Look back at 2015 linebacking corp. Labbatt was 240 lbs. Taj was 230 lbs, Ratelle was 255 lbs, Idowu was the small guy at 225 lbs. With that size you can mix in a change of pace 210 lb flash like Disterhaupt and be really affective doing it. But to average 205 lbs across all 4 backers, not going to work very well.
  13. 1 word- Out coached
  14. If there's a good omen to the game it's this: Back in the hazing days of college football, we used to have the biggest/roundest rookie on the team (offensive lineman) stand up on a chair, take his shirt off, and in front of all the fall student athletes(girls Volleyball team) in the cafeteria, sing "The Gambler" by Kenny Rogers. The whole team would join in the chorus. Last night, just saw Kenny Rogers on his final tour, rocking "The Gambler", made me think of it.
  15. We run the draw like a rented mule already -
  16. Sure you can, you can slip screen, bubble screen, smoke, 3-step, max or heavy protect, roll the QB out. Our O-line has enough juice that if we mix this stuff in with our best weapons we would see more success with our tradition run game. In a sense, we kinda opened the pass up in order to run against Missouri St.
  17. Until I see us properly use our weapons on offense and mix up controlling the ball and taking some shots, I don't believe it's a reality. I think the USD game gives us 2 losses with injuries and exposure on how to attack us. We will play hard but we are banged up while the Bobcats are coming off a bye week. 30-27 Cats.
  18. You are an artist-
  19. You pissed off Dale Earnhardt-
  20. I know the feeling, not sure what we will see from UND......I expect they will play hard!! If I were in charge, our 1st offensive set would include 1 TE, Wanzak and Santiago out wide, Brady at HB, JJ at FB. Choose your poison. Our defense has to be prepped for more beef up front, whatever form that may be.
  21. Not change, wrinkle with personnel was a suggestion. We won't stop anyone with opposing TEs putting our small backers on ice skates.
  22. Need the Travis Tritt one back, or does that offend all rednecks?
  23. Tamas is a hitter. He didn't put any extra into that hit, just the way he plays. He smoked a Utah WR week #1, legal hit. On the film, he loads up his left shoulder, easy for me to see being a former player. If you don't prepare for the impact, which he did with his left shoulder, you're going to get hurt.
  24. This is a very legit question. In the older days, we often had a big and heavy outside backer along with an outside backer like we have today. Against a 1 TE set, the bigger outside backer would flip to take that blocker on. I honestly made this point a few days ago to someone inside the program. When an opposing TE puts our 210 guys on ice skates that's a concern. I think we have a number of DL that could fit this mold. I'd take the most athletic DL we have in space and give it a try. The downside is predictability, the other team should realize that this backer will be the 'rush' backer most of the time should it be a pass play. But it's a trade off we might have to take. (I hope this makes some sense) And really, an outside backer that is 'on' is much like a DE anyway.
  25. Wrong, slide was too late, good non-call. Strev, tough as nails. I like the kid for his toughness and feel for the game.
