I re-watched last week - it was tough. Your observations are spot on. Right before the blocked punt our O-line had a horrible 3rd down pass protection. Also, O'Brein and Bakkar could not make open space tackles on high caliber players. How about the 1st drive, we miss a field goal, very make-able!!
-
2 points 1- as we have seen, this staff likes to drop safeties to LBs, maybe need to start with more safeties. If an LB gets to 250, that could be an easy position change to D end. D lineman don't move the other way. 2- Half of the LBs on the roster might as well be on the Cleveland Indians roster in the Major League movie.
-
Maybe we shouldn't have 36 defensive linemen when only 3 are on the field at a time. Compare that to 4 LBs on the field and 4 DBs on the field, base package and up to 6 DBs if we had the personnel. Just a thought.
-
A little confused why players, families, or donors did not have the option to at least pay for them.......Oh well, the back-to-back will be that much sweeter.
-
We'll have to stay in our lanes defensively....... Utah is looking pretty tough on paper. Our LBs need to make plays in open space and the guys this year are more capable than Bakker and O'Brien.
-
Interesting..... Mercer was the clear #1 WR the last few games last year, especially against Northern AZ and Richmond.

100 rings, maybe we could get a discount from the 300% mark up on jewelry. It is a tough ask cause a lot of FB alum donate in many different areas of football needs.
-
Pretty sure I paid for a NCC ring in the 90's. I am not too worked up by this.

Oh no, my buddy, who oversees 9 BWWs says the Pac 12 is hard to work with, they have this game on lock down right now!!
-
I am working on it. BWW carried the Stoney Brook game last year for me, I think they can find a Pac 12 game.

A little vertigo for the Iceman-

Not sure some on this site can pace themselves this long......it will be a challenge.

First come, first serve will not happen. While it may create some urgency to get there the risk of fighting for spots and unwanted animosity towards each other is the reality. That's not what we need. Folks like a system and some even like to put the cell phones away for a while to enjoy a Saturday.

Leave earlier or park in back. At some point the committee needs to look at the safety aspect of tailgating. I like the idea of reserved tailgating with a different color for each game, then set up a tailgate exchange so we don't have a bunch of empties.
-
I would take it further. Close tailgating 2.5 hours before the game. That way everyone will be there when the team walks thru 2 hours before the game. And after the team walk you don't have to worry about your kids getting run over by folkes just parking.
-
Understood, but it's hard to market 'sneak in early'. At least I think UND will market the times soon.
-
I am hearing expanded tailgate times in Grand Forks this year. This should encourage fans to go bigger and better with set-ups. The game by game tailgate passes makes sense.

Bubba has a priority needs fund that he controls for football.

Game Day Committee is a 3 year commitment, partly due to the mapping already being set this year. Maybe 2018 is new configuration and 2019 some slight improvements as needed. Sources say something cool is in the pipeline for game#1, stay tuned.

Rudy will be walking a few fine lines in 2017, good problems to have. #1 is touches, with this many guys wanting the ball, and deservedly so, how do you spread the ball and make everyone happy? Hopefully unselfishness and waiting their turn wins out but competitive players want the ball. #2 is how do you balance 'identity' with the experience and talent that allows an OC to call a broader game? Can't get too cute but yet we all want Santiago in space and in the slot at times and JJ working in at FB.
-
Ha ha ha. Norberg is probably a blocker 90% of the time at FB. JJ is probably 50/50 whether he blocks or runs the ball (or on a pass route) at FB. This could be a really good wrinkle.
-
I think so, but more for production than for blocking.
-
Good addition by the staff. These coaches are like the energizer bunny.

True Freshman......pretty impressed with their size.
