  1. Good call Illinois St. That display on Saturday was horrendous, even considering the conditions. Same 3 runs plays, gave me PTSruDy!!!
  2. Not buying this in bold. And for the most part, players should never be late. 15 minutes early was the norm in the 90's. I don't think we need to lower our standard of what "being on time is". Why not a 100% dry program? Cause we'd have 15 players on the roster.
  3. This is the rip Bison thread, plenty of complaining about 3-8 on the other threads. Bison probably beats the Jacks in Frisco, with the Jacks having their QB hurt in the 4th quarter upsetting the Dukes. Sound about right?? I googled 'what's easier than a cakewalk', nothing popped up, but might as well pack your bags and RVs from Fargo to Frisco, no doubt.
  4. Comparing Apples to Kumquats-
  5. #12deepatdline
  6. Not equally, and not even that close. Coaches evaluate and recruit players based on their ability and character. Coaches decide who plays what position and what type of O & D to run. Coaches call the plays. Coaches can put the right guys in the right spots on the field to make plays, or not do that, but it is up to the staff. Coaches decide philosophy and how conservative/aggressive to be and when. Coaches can put checks and balances on the team. (diet, workouts, drug testing, etc) So, you probably didn't mean equally, right? These coaches are big boys. They know this year sucked. You don't have to provide cover for them.
  7. I hope we can all heal up with our 2017 "bye" week.
  8. A strecth at 3-8. It would be a better article with a 6-5 record as a disaster year.
  9. Ha ha ha. Just messing around. But we disagree on the defense and a couple key players and what they meant to Schmitty.
  10. 4th year termite hockey, 1st year 8U girls, but I am not posting as an expert on the UND Hockey forum.
  11. I didn't start the comparison, just pointing out a program is 10-0 in spite of numerous injuries vrs 3-8 with several blow out losses in their respective divisions.
  12. Says the guy in goalie pads vrs a 4 year starter in the 3-4 defense. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
  13. Yet, in spite of the injuries, sit at #1 in the nation. Down in the most recent game, their offense picked up the slack and won the football game with the last 14 points. Amazing how that works.
  14. I see next year as D-Line #1 being the Full Meal Deal. Cieslack, Tank, Bennett followed by the Freshman Fury of Ott, Morris, and Senguin. Could be really good. But without a difference maker at LB and in the secondary, could all be for nothing.
  15. A lot of smash mouth back then. Game has changed and athletes have changed. Need to defend more in space now.
  16. But we have 16 defensive lineman rotating in.........for 3 positions that is.
  17. Defensive issues would of been resolved with 2-3 players. Needed Rodgers in the middle, or anyone over 230 lbs that is decent (Bakker or O'Brien last year). Needed Reyes or Tamas to stay healthy and with either Harris or Holm and we would of been fine. Except for one thing.......we had a couple games when the offense had about just as many 3 and outs as 1st downs. Very few defenses will stand up to that. And on defense, we didn't have the equivalent to a long snapper playing free safety against Montana in the 1st half.
  18. As a FormerOL, what does it feel like when the opposing team's linebackers are calling out the run plays then stuffing them for a loss of 1-2 yards? That must really suck.
  19. Bubba and Rudy are not the entire staff. To me, all things are on the table to at least review. I could be way off, too, but just my 2 cents.
  20. I wasn't looking for a head coach with pom poms like PJ Fleck but atleast would like to hear that adjustments will be made, even if we are not going to broadcast publicly what they are. Was looking for a glimmer, didn't get one. Perception is a slippery slope and the perception right now is nothing changes. However, that simply cannot be an option or it is career suicide for many. So, I am guessing some changes will be made with staff, a few or quite a few players, we will dip back into the juco market hard at LB, safety, and corner, and for the staff this off season, time to review our in game and in season strategies and philosophy.
  21. I get what you are saying but these are adult men. They are capable of buying/selling/using drugs on the extreme bad side of things and they are certainly aware and capable of taking care of themselves on the other side, nutritionally. Most of this is 9th grade health class....... I could see bringing someone in for an "eating clinic", but I don't want to get to the point where we have to wipe these kids' asses, too.
  22. Ya, if the Big Bad BIZON don't have 8-9 home games a year it's a real travesty. They claim they travel so well that Frisco is a home game, then in another argument they call it an away game to boast their playoff record on the road. It's a neutral field game but these schmucks can't figure this out.
  23. I feel he better make the playoffs next year if that's the case with an offense in the top half of the league, so tweaks would have to be made internally.
  24. I am actually calling on Bubba to review his staff. Staff to review their players and scheme. I am not a fire Bubba guy. And not sure who makes this call, but a medical/training staff review, too. And S&C, would like to see some individualization in the program.
  25. To sum up 2017- The combination of average on field talent, use/nonuse of talent, and schematics were disappointing. Our roster is pretty thin, still, talent wise. If we have guys receiving $$ that are not going to contribute, it has to be pulled. If a coach isn't D I competent, he needs to go. North Dakota nice is never going to place us as a perennial top 10 team.
