  1. Defensive Back Analysis (next year eligibility) - Analysis Projected corner starters - Harris (Soph) - Has the physical tools and height 6'3" to be a top tier shut down corner. - Carter (Soph) - Competes every play, gritty, similar size to Tillman at 5'10" and 190 lbs. Can cover and not afraid to tackle. Cornerback Backups - Brown (Sr.) - Undersized but he can play, really quick and is full speed out of breaks. Should be a great leader for young corners. - Flowers (Soph) I think he redshirted and still has 3 years. Good size and athletic....but is he physical enough at this level? Has potential. - Edmunds (Jr.) Has been a special teamer, could be used as a depth player - Bollant (R Fresh) Redshirted last year, time to prove yourself. We have 3 guys that can play right now. If the coaches have enough confidence in our starters, then look for some freshmen corners to come in and redshirt this recruiting class. If we find a 'Tillman' type available we will grab him. Don't panic if we don't sign a JUCO or FBS drop down at corner. Projected Starters at Safety - Reyes (Soph) - Good player. Needs to work on the speed of the game and his angles. Other Safeties - James (Sr) - Not a top level safety but might start at beginning of the year with his experience. Provides for good depth. - Blackmon (Sr) - Has a nose for the ball or the ball has a nose for him. He will see some time for sure. Provides for good depth. - Aenell and Johnson (Jrs both are JUCO transfers) I think one of these guys will be the other starter when ready. Both have good size. - Montague (Soph) Kind of a wild card, played a little special teams last year, was listed on 2-deep at one point. I think a JUCO guy ends up starting next to Reyes, providing us with some size at safety, which is needed with the receivers in the Big Sky. James and Blackmon will provide depth and either could be starting 'Nickel', and in this league 5 DBs are needed on the field in certain situations. We should look to add a freshman safety, redshirt him, and have him ready to go as we lose 2 Seniors after next season. JUCO guys are the wild card at safety, but we did have more time this year to target guys that we wanted. Plus, I believe both safeties are on campus now and will play spring ball.
  2. OLB is his projected position. Coaches think he's going to be a good one although I think he'll redshirt.....just my guess on red shirting.
  3. Norberg is staying at RB. If the UAB kid and our freshman can carry the load I think Norberg could be a hybrid RB/FB. We might see one more back brought in with the question mark on Simmons's shoulder.
  4. Lingerie Football could be a good alternative to women's hockey. At least the uniforms wouldn't cost much.......
  5. Well said......pretty pointless season. I have never even dreamt of going to a baseball game in GF.
  6. I watch highlights of UND hockey during the season, watch a few games in GF, watch the playoffs, watch the guys drafted by the NHL, then UND watches them sit on their wallets........that's what I hear. Any truth to that and I am seriously just asking for some insider perspective.
  7. Please share the story.....why wasn't he going to play next year? If we are going to worry about a wide out, it's RJ Whateverdowsky. Besides, just about every team in the Big Sky has better wideouts than SU. It's the players at all the other positions SU has that worries us.
  8. Since Adidas doesn't make helmets I don't think they care too much. Or, maybe Bubba is working with Gerrel's on helmets.
  9. We have issues with Faison if everyone wants to state the obvious. I know he isn't the guy to lead UND. With Bubba and the alumni base we will strive for success in football regardless of the administration. I like how things are progressing and if we do pull this thing together we'll have to get the checkbook out and keep the coaching staff together. So sucking has it challenges, but success brings about it's own set of challenges and we need leadership. We can't F up the AD hire again. Faison will be done in a couple years.
  10. Adidas and UND are in a little pissing match about contract language but the head-to-toe is basically a done deal. Uniforms will be a little different, Kelly green jersey and pants and white jersey and pants. (Kelly green pants??). Helmets are not part of the deal this year as far as I know. Next year, UND gets a third uniform and at that time I think the alums will step up for a throwback helmet. The uniforms are the shock web....the best Adidas makes.
  11. These teams out of the FCS made the SU run possible and is making a mess out of FBS.
  12. Go stroke yourself on a different site.
  13. You said it, a whistle blow and a magic squib kick.......either one sends SU home crying. It is so sickening-
  14. Yes, the Concordia alums are all there.....blowing up my wife's facebook. Not to mention the gals that don't know who SU is playing. It's best to not even look for about a week until the Frisco photos dry up, hopefully with a Red Bird victory. And I hope they get freezing rain during the game.
  15. still finalizing the agreement I guess......info is a little premature
  16. Ya, it's a head-to-toe contract, that's the terminology they used.
  17. That's why I have an Illinois State t-shirt primed and ready for the Sioux Hockey game tomorrow. I know my buddy will be sporting a ISU shirt, too. #real fans-
  18. Home and away 'traditional' look for this year, with an alternate uniform the following year is the deal. From what I know Bubba prefers a throw-back gray look over the black jersey. Glad the info has come out-
  19. Schmitty- Might hear something tonight good......or maybe heartbreak city. A PWO offer at Oregon is impressive, but I bet the student loans and cost of tuition would be 'impressive', too.
  20. Yes, needs some strength, but he plays stronger than his numbers. I assume he gets a workout program this summer and will likely redshirt, so maybe a late bloomer, with 20 months to figure it out. A quick strength story......Phil Hanson and a few others while in college spoke to my high school team. Phil confessed to only benching 185 heading into SU as a freshman.
  21. Ya, Phil was in high 4.3's his junior year....did get a little slower his senior year. We have another coach driving to Michigan right now....I hope whoever is worth the drive.
  22. Maybe a player or two not mentioned, also. If I were an RB and had the chance at 20+ carries a game......I'd be interested.
  23. I did some research concerning the stable of stallions- Word on the UAB kid is he's an angry runner....I like the sound of that. Simmons has applied for a hardship, and the NCAA looks at these on a case by case basis. I think he has a good case. That said, his shoulder isn't healing as well as the Dr's would like and it's up in the air as to his status going forward. With that, we hope to bring in another 2015 football ready running back from JUCO or FBS ranks, much to the dismay of queenranch.
