I know I should drop this but there are 9 schools in the MAC whose average attendance was less than NDSU's 18,497. Sic's list was those schools averaging less that 16K. In any case, I'm not sure why NDSU's attendance is relevant.

Only 2 teams in the MAC averaged less than 11K. CC only had 6700 for their playoff game. Students aren't always around for first round games.

Music therapy is used in the Fargo public schools with autistic children. I think the therapist are contractors and not district employees. As far as I know the children are not addicted to opioids, the therapists don't have ponytails or play the harp (at least to the children), and Jack Daniels isn't part of the treatment.

I understand what you are saying but this is a team that hasn't been to a bowl game in over 50 years and has one winning record this century. I don't think donations are coming in based on past success. Making any post season game might have some appeal, especially if it was a home playoff game. I think the biggest problem NMSU has if they drop to FCS is potentially no longer playing UTEP and UNM.

Ignoring the FBS/FCS issue and assuming all of these teams are FCS, how does this affect the playoffs? I don't believe FCS conferences can have championship games and participate in the playoffs. Breaking ties for the auto qualifier could be unfair if one subdivision is annually weak. Does the big sky get two automatic qualifiers? In practice that doesn't seem like a big deal since the conference always produces at least that many playoff teams, but somebody is going to complain about the loss of an a large spot.

If you're driving to class at the U of M, you're doing it wrong . I had two kids attend there and think they would disagree with most of your assertions. Of course there is no arguing about the AD situation, or athletics in general.

Is there a potential for eligibility issues? I don't know the rules, but since he completed a year of eligibility doesn't he have to show more than 1 semester's worth of credits? Do any of the rules around transferring come into play? Probably not since he didn't compete in any sports but with the NCAA who knows.
