I think our guys will be hearing it all week about never winning at NAU and they will come out fairly fired up and ready to play.

ASU wore these when I went to a game a few years ago and thought they looked sharp. That's why I mentioned the grey bottom and tops with white helmet.

Agree grey pants with the green tops were ugly. If we had grey pants and grey top that may have been ok with a white helmet, but probably wouldn't have wanted that wide stripe on the grey jersey pants. I kind of miss just having solid white pants with solid green jersey with legible white numbers.

Yeah it seems like most all of the plays that are really schemed up to succeed...are geared towards Belquist. Even that one in the first quarter against NE that Tommy threw a little high, Maag could have easily run that route. We run that throw back play a few times a year....it's one that almost always works for a nice gain, it always goes to Belquist. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but Maag can only run the routes he is given and make the catches when they throw his way.....which hasn't been very often. I still think he'll make some big plays for us this year though. Hoping Klien gets healthy soon....would be nice to see him get some reps. Sounds like Red was dinged up going into the UNI game but played through it, hopefully he is pretty close back to 100% this week.

Agree, worst numbers I've ever seen. They look good up close, but on the field it's impossible to tell who is who. Whoever the rep is at the company.....should pony up for us to swap out those numbers.

haha good one. Black would look good with the black UNI's....but that's about it. White would go with the green jerseys, the grey jerseys (if we still have them), and white.....white pants, white top, white helmet. Just seems like more options. Black helmets were the cool thing..... like 10-15 years ago.

If we were going to get a new helmet, would need to do white. Would be a waste to do another green IMO. I'd prefer white over black or grey. Our grey jerseys with both grey tops and bottoms and white helmet would look good. I think the large Hawk logo like you've got it.....could be cool though. White helmet....with large green Hawk logo.

I was at that 2018 game too, the only good thing about that game was it was our offense was so pathetic Bubba was finally forced to make a change. I remember taking a picture of the scoreboard at end of 3rd quarter or end of game........and we had like 3 first down, or only 36 rushing yards or something extremely pathetic like that. That was a crappy way for Santiago and Brady O. to go out.

That is definitely a huge case of......it depends where you start out the year in the preseason polls. It is pretty shocking how they were Top 8....or I think maybe even #4 or something....to look so bad to start the year, has been surprising for sure. Makes our trip out there seem more winnable, but also puts more pressure on us if they are 0-3 and then we get beat. Just have to beat them. Sure hope we can have a strong year all the way through and into the playoffs so we can get the benefit of starting out higher next year. Hopefully this is finally the year we can start building that consistency of always starting the year within the Top 15 going forward.

I would agree. Although he can only catch the balls that are thrown to him, he hasn't been targeted very much which I'm not sure if that is partially his fault for not getting open, or just the way they are playing him or what. I don't know why we can't have both Maag and Red on the field at the same time. Red should be on the field the majority of the time IMO. I'm thinking....and hoping....Red's role continues to expand as the season goes on.

Would pretty much agree with all of this. NAU beating Sam Houston definitely has me a little more apprehensive about this game than before the season started. Time for us to take two steps forward though this time and win this one on the road. Hope Smith is healthy too but I could see Ziebarth getting some more reps as the year goes on as Smith seems to get hobbled during games. Hoping we can get Red a little more involved in this game too. First play of the game last week he took it around the end for 22 yards, had as many yards on that one play as I think we had the rest of the first half on the ground. Thank goodness we got Hoosman, he has been solid. He's not a Brady O. but he is tough to bring down. No matter what happens.....just find a way to win again!!

Sundays are so much better after a win. Definitely can enjoy this win....but sure hope we improve in the secondary. Hard to say if it's just that they don't have enough experience. Siegal played as a freshman, these guy have as much or more experience than he did and he played great right away. I'm hoping some of our injured guys are able to get healed up. Interesting that they played Dennis yesterday, playing him that early in the season....wonder if they are planning on pulling his shirt? With a win yesterday I'll be in a much better mindset next Saturday as I head up to Flagstaff for the NAU game, I still have nightmares about the debacle up there last time. Crazy that SIU could be 0-3 when we go there, they are probably going to be pretty pissed off and fired up for that home game. Hope we can get up early on them and cast doubt in their minds.

Let's give some credit to the coaches and players, they found a way to win against what will likely be a pretty good MVFC team. We desperately needed a winning mindset going into the rest of the year. It was a definite difference maker with Tommy making plays with his legs today. There isn't anything I would have changed about when he run or decided to throw today. That 3rd and 5 QB keeper up the middle was great, one nice thing about him not running before is....they never expected it.

I agree that both teams usually have play makers and make plays and can't always blame it on crappy play by a defender. That said the one side of our secondary is rough. Give me ANY of our DII corners since 1990 over there verses what we've got now. Hoping they will improve with more game action though, hard to overcome giving up so many big plays.

Guess you could say Bubba now has balls of steel? Lol That was gutsy call and I wouldn't have done it. I think they felt they could score on that run. last week I think he made the right calls when it game to going for it etc.

Ok....Tommy won this game for us! He ran....scrambled...made plays, that scramble and throw to seal the game...huge. Tommy won this. Our secondary needs work on the one side.

Gaurauntee we will see this weekly now.....just throw deep opposite side of Seigal.....it's money..
