What the hell...I'm not even seeing the UND - UNI game listed in the Live or upcoming games on ESPN....WTF. Can anybody else see it listed?
-
Yeah was really frustrating last year......hardly ever even got a Brockstar play off because of a penalty before the snap.
-
I just checked and I'm able to get that ESPN3 game on my laptop so I'm feeling better knowing I'll be able to watch the game today.
-
I predict another false start or something when we have both Tommy and Q in, seems like we get at least one of those a game when we are setting up a trick type play. Last year it seemed every time we put Boltmann in at QB somebody false started or something and we scrapped the play. Hopefully we can get passed that and break that trend.
-
Yeah let's see some pics! UNI fans do look pretty confident after reading their game thread. They may look at our board though and think we are being way over confident too. We've been wanting UNI for a long time....gotta win this one!!
-
Yeah sucks being game of the week makes it harder for everyone to see it. Charleston Southern plays at NC State at 11:30 Central Time tomorrow morning on ESPN3, I'm going to use that game to test to see if I can get it.

Reminiscent of Grady's kick off return or interception (can't remember which it was) in High School that he ran back like 90 yards or something. Crap....10 lashes for me for bringing up Grady.
-
Guess that is probably why Klein didn't see the field at all last week, was thinking maybe he was dinged up....but I didn't recall hearing he was before last weeks game. Hopefully Bryant and Fort will be back soon, well all of the guys....but those two would be the most important.
-
I'd easily choose a white helmet if we were going to get another one. I think that would really pop and could go with both green, grey, and white jerseys.
-
Agree, outside of not having a burner I like the versatility with our current WR group and I think they will be good this year. Hoping Klein can be the real deal and be that tall target we need, surprised he didn't see the field last week. And I think Red will soon be known around the MVFC, sure hope so. Honest question because I didn't see any of their highlights or am I familiar with their WR's this year, who/whom are the burners on NDSU's roster that we would like on our team that would be game changers? We do need to be able to connect on some deep balls this year though, that don't require us to run a flea flicker to get the guy open.

Wow.....crazy. I'm ok with the players getting something, but man seems like there should be some type of limitations/regulation or something.....it's like the wild west right now in the NIL market. Article says A&M student athletes have already made 4 million in the past year. At what point do they just let the Universities pay them....I mean what is the difference, and then have a salary cap or something so there is a max and some schools or markets aren't at such a huge advantage. Can't believe how it's gone from such one extreme to another, just like that.

I wanted a statement game this weekend against UNI....and would still love to have that. But we just need to make sure we win...even if it's by 1 point.

Hoosman knows the right way to talk about his former team, a little different than the type of comments Weah was making about UND. Below is from Tom Miller's article. Glad we have Hoosman. After that interception we had the ball 1st and goal on the 8 yard line, we ran two running plays...the first one we got 3 yards, the 2nd one he took it in for a score pretty much untouched. We struggled quite a bit running the ball in the red zone last year. Hoosman is a nice compliment to Smith. "They're a tough, gritty group," Hoosman said of his former team. "I remember long days in the winter and summer working out, and I know how they prepare. They're going to be mentally and physically on their game. "We'll really see who wants it, and I think it'll come down to the fourth quarter."
-
I agree and wondering that too, seems like you would sprinkle some #1's in with #2's throughout the game instead of putting all # 2's in.....and a guy who wasn't even on the 2 deep at the same time. It also made me think about NFL, seems like their stud Defensive players are in there almost the whole game, but I've never really specifically watched to see if a Ray Lewis type....plays 90% of the plays or not and/or if he would sit out an entire defensive series.
-
I did notice he was out the drive I mentioned, after we gave up the 3rd and 15. Also after we went for it on 4th down in our own territory at the end he wasn't in on that last series Nebraska scored on, but figured they probably pulled some guys as no point in risking injury.
-
Watched the game again tonight and just watching the end now. Casey Shultz, Beach, and Lennon in on the DL andJack Baretz in at LB on the drive after we gave up that 3rd and 15, so didn't have some of the # 1's in for that drive....but guys that certainly play alot. Surprised Baretz was in though as he wasn't even on the 2 deep. Looks like he read the RB wrong on the run that ended up being a TD when they got down to the 20 yard line, if he would have went right instead of left, would have been a 5 yard gain......but instead it was a 20 yard TD pretty much untouched. Kupfer was in on the very first drive of the game, he played a lot. Don't think I saw Klein see the field, really surprised at that unless he wasn't 100%. Still hate our numbers on our jerseys, really hard to determine who is who......3,6,8,9 all look the same. Several times the announcers got it wrong....don't blame them.
-
I am hoping for a statement game to start off the MVFC schedule. Hoping Smith is healthy....and busts a couple of long ones on them.
-
Utah State was 11-3 last year. They might not have been great, but 11-3 certainly qualifies as good. But we get it, you just want to troll.
-
What do you mean....UNI are the FCS poll darlings, they often move up even when they lose. If UNI would have played you guys as close as we did last year, they would have been complemented by fans throughout the FCS saying.....damn UNI is really tough gave them a hell of a game.....and they would have moved up a few spots in the polls.
-
Well that means Nebraska didn't adjust until after they got that long 3rd down conversion with about 10 minutes left in 4th quarter. The did get that long TD run with about 3 minutes in 3rd quarter to go up 24-17, but we had them completely bottled up...up the middle on that play and he had nowhere to go, he made a great decision to bust it outside. That play was not a schemed up adjustment on their part IMO. When we punted and they were deep in their own end with about 12 minutes to go...they went backwards and we had them 3rd and 15. So I don't think their coaches out coached us on this one by making timely adjustments.
-
Really felt like we could win until that 3rd and 15. Like how we answered back after they scored and seemed like they were about to grab the momentum, but we would grab it back again. For the OL being so young and having to mix things up last minute due to injury they did pretty well. Smith looked good.....hope it was only a cramp. Surprised Kupfer played so much. Was Maag playing in the second half? Red is going to be a nice weapon for us this year. Tommy played pretty well, but uncharacteristically missed a couple throws where the guy was open. Hoping we open up the passing more next week and take a couple of deep shots. Glad we are playing UNI next weekend, as no time to sit around.....the team will need to get focused again right away this week. Hope the atmosphere is pretty electric in the Alerus on Saturday and we destroy UNI.
-
I don't want to just beat UNI next week.....I want to beat them by 15-20.
-
Due to injury, we completely shifted the OL. Think I saw we put Kilty out at Tackle? Or did they show it wrong on tv. If so, we had lots of guys playing in positions at the OL which they were not projected to play at. They had some rough moments, but also did really well at times. I think pretty good showing for a really really young OL. Keep improving.

Was Maag playing the 2nd half, wonder if his hand is bothering him.
