Yes, but I heard they’re giving away free rectal thermometers to the first 1000 fans.

Well let's look at what we have and what we don't have twelve weeks into this
Dont' Have
-Wide spread testing (we also have no timeline for getting it in the future)
-Sufficient PPE (nor do we have a system to allocate PPE to support hospitals during outbreaks as evidenced by NYC, Albany GA, Michigan, etc.)
- Sufficient monetary support to individuals and small businesses impacted by the shutdown to prevent foreclosures and other personal financial hardship.
-Sufficient financial support for hospitals to keep them open and fully staffed during the outbreak
Have
-$500 billion slush fund with virtually no accountability and no concrete plans for deploying
-$390 billion SBA loan program that has turned into a boondoggle with little to no actual funds being disbursed
-Some retroactive tax cuts that will take months for taxpayers to monetize
-Six or seven distributors of PPE that get free products from the federal government that they turn around and sell at an extremely high mark up to the various state goverments
Describing our response as second world is extremely charitable as there are multiple third world countries who've addresses this better than us.
D.L. ….does that stand for Don Lemon?

Trying to stay on topic here. Just like your guy that got killed by the 5G tower falling over, there's many ways of counting or not counting deaths.
We mentioned earlier, how the Chinese statistics are hard to take seriously. Our statistics also don't show the total picture.
There seems to be an under reporting of deaths.
An estimated additional 180 - 195 deaths per day occurring at home in New York City due to COVID-19 are not being counted in the official figures. "Early on in this crisis we were able to swab people who died at home, and thus got a coronavirus reading. But those days are long gone. We simply don't have the testing capacity for the large numbers dying at home. Now only those few who had a test confirmation *before* dying are marked as victims of coronavirus on their death certificate. This almost certainly means we are undercounting the total number of victims of this pandemic," said Mark Levine, Chair of New York City Council health committee [source]
A study by disease modelers at the University of Texas at Austin states that "Given the low testing rates throughout the country, we assume that 1 in 10 cases are tested and reported. If a county has detected only 1 case of COVID-19, there is a 51%
chance that there is already a growing outbreak underway" [source] [source]

“We definitely think there are deaths that we have not accounted for,” said Jennifer Nuzzo, a senior scholar at the Johns Hopkins University Center for Health Security, which studies global health threats and is closely tracking the coronavirus pandemic.

I can understand how difficult it would be in getting a completely accurate count in the midst of any pandemic. Your links spell out some good reasons as to why. Just look at how the swine flu numbers changed after the fact:

Must be having some trouble with the death count not growing as exponentially as some predicted (5G and non 5G related Corona cases of course). https://www.washingtonpost.com/investigations/coronavirus-death-toll-americans-are-almost-certainly-dying-of-covid-19-but-being-left-out-of-the-official-count/2020/04/05/71d67982-747e-11ea-87da-77a8136c1a6d_story.html
If you have the virus but feel fine, and a 5G tower falls on your head killing you instantly...what’s the determined cause of death?

Here's another? or maybe even transferred among humans over time from these wet markets?
Has Covid-19 been in humans for years?
Leading scientists tell CNN that it's possible the virus didn't just come from bats in the past months, but that it could made the leap to humans many months, perhaps even years ago before it then transferred among people to become as lethal as it has.
Wow. A two minute hard news piece featuring cameos from Kate Winslet, Matt Damon, and Laurence Fishburne.

The real lesson should be those Chinese wet markets can’t exist in the way they currently do.
Hey now- careful; we can’t go around placing blame where it actually lies.

I agree. The swine flu pandemic of 10 years ago should’ve been the wake up call we needed that a nastier virus could potentially kill even more people. But sadly nothing significant was done.

I hope you were right my friend. Next two weeks will be pretty telling for ND.
I wasn't attempting to predict anything regarding covid numbers- just pointing out what's happened thus far. The snails pace at which it is moving into the rural areas is great. But stricter statewide mandates may fall on deaf ears.

ND will fall in line, just takes us a little longer. Could be a long summer.
https://www.health.nd.gov/diseases-conditions/coronavirus/north-dakota-coronavirus-cases
25 days after the first reported case, we have 28 counties with 0 confirmed cases. 18 counties with a combined 29 cases. Unless the current trend changes, people outside of the 4 most densely populated areas of the state are not going to see the value of even stricter guidelines.

Maybe there’s just been an enormous uptick in using empty cremation urns for home decor in Wuhan. Yep. I bet that’s it.

probably but it seems like laws are being trampled on left and right....you would think that if you bought a chevy yesterday from "Sally Smith" at Rydell's and you now see 33 year old Sally Smith tested positive for the Rona maybe don't go to work or gma's?
If you end up getting it, I think you are supposed to disclose to the health department every where you’ve been and alert who you may have exposed.
(Although a running ticker on the bottom of the local channels of the names of people with it could be more entertaining for everyone else stuck at home with nothing to do)

I didn't know until I saw him interviewed recently that William Schaffner is a Professor of Preventive Medicine and Infectious Diseases. First he commands the Starship Enterprise, and now this. Wow. Big fan!

Kind of irrelevant now that we are locked into another 30+ days of federal "slow the spread" guidelines but I appreciate you checking in.
Pop back in here on April 30.......we can count up all the businesses and restaurants locally that go under.
I heard the remaining Forever 21’s are thinking of rebranding and becoming Covid 19’s.
