  1. There isn't one. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive. Every year that we wait to can him is another year we add rebuilding.
  2. are you kidding me Bartels....he just starred down his receiver and then threw it right into NAU's linebackers chest. Not even close.
  3. We may have some of the most unathletic defensive lineman in college football.
  4. I can't stand Lane Kiffen, but I would poop myself if he became our coach. That would be one of the few ways that we would get elite FCS recruits right off the bat. Percentage chances that he comes here: .0000000000025%
  5. Haven't seen any Tambellini talk thus far. I know he scored but how was his play? Obviously, I don't know if he will be as good as Bjugstad but he has the same body frame. Tall with room to add some more weight. Does he look to have a chance to develop into a real game changer come another year or two?
  6. Yes, recruiting is very important in making a winner. However, I would argue that player development is even more important than recruitment. Why? Because at this time we don't have a shot at getting the guys we want like NDSU does. We have to go a different route and get a coach that can truly develop talent and make his players perform at a higher level than their recruitment would suggest. I see it going in this order: 1. Recruit the best we can get (not very good at the moment) 2. Develop those players 3. Start to compete and win 4. Get the attention of better recruits 5. Start to win more 6. Now your in a position to start recruiting the athletes we truly want What we currently have: 1. Recruit the best we can get (not very good at the moment) 2. Poor player development 3. Lose 4. Off top recruits radar, continue to get lesser talent 5. Poor player development 6. Lose and the cycle continues
  7. I just don't get Mussman when it comes to recruiting ND kids. The only explanation I can come up with is that he doesn't think there is enough talent to make many offers to "our" kids. How many more ND kids are on NDSU's team than UNDs? I imagine its quite a few more. They are able to play for a championship team but not UND I guess.
  8. I ref high school football and have seen a few players that NDSU has offered scholarship money for. I know for a fact that they offered a kid from Towner at least a partial ride. Towner plays 9 man football. They also have Esley Thorton are Carson Wentz on their roster.
  9. ND has some talent in it but I hardly hear of UND recruiting them. I know he tore his ACL in the first game this year but did we even offer Alex Yanosko out of Minot? He won't be a QB in college but he is definitely a local athlete that we should at least offer.
  10. How do Tambellini and Johnson look?
  11. I'm not able to watch the game so I'm hoping that someone can relay so info on this end. How has Tambellini and Johnson looked?
  12. I 100% agree with this. In my experience, your level of success has a direct correlation to your level of expectations. Anything less than championship expectations should be unacceptable in my opinion. We are going to finish under .500 this year and our expectations should be set much much higher than that. I see no way that Muss isn't given his walking papers at the conclusion of this season and in all honesty there is no reason he shouldn't.
  13. In other news, the school of ag science is down 13 in the 4th
  14. I understand the frustration that the shuttle service has been discontinued. I think that is idiotic. However, what is even more idiotic is complaining about the size of the seats in what is arguably the nicest hockey facility in the world. Also, not sure what the jokes about Semrau are all about? I know they are jokes but they guy is unbelievably good at what he does. He helps run the ACM Awards show for god sake.
  15. Well, everyone and their mother knows Muss gets the boot before next season. I have been in the wait until after the season camp but games like this make me want to rethink that. This is unacceptable and keeping Muss around longer may not be the best option.
  16. JIMMY! JIMMY! JIMMY! JIMMY!
  17. There aren't a whole lot of sports teams that developed a hardcore fanbase that was predicated on losses. Lets not live in a world in which we wish something was and be in that moment of what it is. The only way you get those fans is by winning and winning big. An 8-3 record against half ass competition (outside of Cal Poly) is simply not going to get it done. What would have gotten it done? Performing well against the home schedule that we have this year. By the looks of it, that isn't going to happen so I don't blame those fans. Mussman has to go.
  18. Even though I do agree with you to some extent, the football program has not earned the fans respect enough in my view (nor do they deserve it). When a winner gets put on the field people will show up. Until then, its on the school to produce a better product. The only other way to achieve what you propose is to get a stadium built on campus. It would totally change the entire atmosphere of the program from top to bottom. However, that is the definition of a pipe dream.
  19. Muss, simply put, hasn't got the job done. Blow out losses. Terrible defense only to be followed the next year with another terrible defense. No running game. More bad defense. Poor adjustments. More bad defense. This isn't about Muss having 1 rough season. This is trend analysis. The trend shows insufficient improvement. Time to find a replacement.
  20. We have a legitimately effective FCS offense but my god we need to recruit better on defense.
  21. God we have no defensive talent.
  22. What are we doing on defense? That was a terrible matchup for our LB.
  23. Good start. Now lets see if the defense shows up or continues the trend of not being able to stop a nosebleed.
