Well ain't that some ****. I thought we completely outplayed them after the first 10 minutes and it wasn't all that close. Zane was off his game all night and this team desperately needed a goal scorer. This team was just not built to come from behind like that. Should be interesting to see who comes back next year. Depending on who comes back we are going to have another good squad.

As good as Zane is and has been there is truth to the criticism right now. The first goal wasn't his fault but at least 2 of the others needed to be saved.

No other team has this crap luck that we have. Thus far we have outplayed them but 2 crossbars and a couple of crap goals and this looks like another disappointment. Just sick to my stomach.

I agree. I'm a big fan of Poganski. Think he is gonna be a hell of a player.

Theres no chance that Stecher is gone. I don't see how thats a possibility at all.

If the NCAA says we have to have a "new" nickname just make it the Nodaks and use the interlocking ND.

I agree about Buccimane but I think he is getting better. Have to remember this is only going to be his third year doing play by play for college hockey. I actually have heard that he required doing more college hockey stuff as part of his contract with ESPN. If there is one thing that irks me about Bucci its that he has a pretty heavy East Coast bias. I wish UND would extend an invite to him to come and do a game. Ideally, inquire about the possibility of getting him and Melrose out to the REA next time we host Minnesota. ESPN coverage can be a big advantage.

I think if we are going to win this our blue line is going to have to step up. If they're good we're the toughest out in the tournament. If they play like they did this weekend we might not get by Quinnipiac. Blue line needs to win it for us this weekend. Zane needs to win it for us in Boston.

I'm pleased with how our regional ended up but St. Cloud scares me.

I agree, the atmosphere is significantly better. There is nothing more half assed than seeing one big open building with a "wall" separating two courts. There is also the question of fairness. Look at Minot this year. They have a good chance of playing in the championship in all 3 major tournaments and for all 3 of them they have to bus 5 hours to Fargo or 3 1/2 to Grand Forks. Meanwhile the East doesn't really travel at all.

I know this was a posted a couple of days ago but I just read it so I'd like to chime in on this comment. I live out in Minot and there seems to be quite a bit of growing frustration with how the State tournaments in general are set up. Many out West believe that if the East is the only place that can hold the football and hockey tournaments than the West should be the only place that holds the basketball tournaments. The East is better suited to hold hockey and football. Hockey because of the Ralph and Scheels and football due to the availability of indoor stadiums. However, by that same logic, the West has significantly better facilities for basketball via the Civic Center in Bismarck and a combination of the Dome and Auditorium in Minot. State basketball at both the Fargo Dome and Alerus is absolutely awful in comparison.

I don't think anyone thought Minot was the better team but you only need to be better for one night. Do you believe in miracles?

Desean Allen Eikens won't end up at UND or NDSU. He's far and away the best player in the state this year and he's only a freshman. Leads the state in scoring and is second in rebounding. 6'5 G/SF. He's going to be the best player this state has produced since Boschee. Sad to say it because I would love to see him in kelly green but he's going to be getting recruited by the big boys in the Big Ten and Big 12.

Watching Penn State vs Minnesota right now. Penn State is winning 2-1 but they are not good.

On a separate subject. I really don't like how we have our lines set up. 1. I'm still not a huge fan of Mattson. I know he has played decently well as of late but I still don't feel comfortable with him on the ice. 2. I love Poolman but I hate him on the Park-Mac line. I want to see one of the following two line combinations: #15-#16-#08 #29-#09-#27 #03-#28-#17 #21-#13-#14 #04-#24 #02-#06 #20-#05 Or #15-#16-#08 #29-#09-#27 #11-#28-#17 #21-#13-#14 #04-#24 #02-#06 #20-#03

I'd really like to see us switch it up and swap #8 & #3.

I guess I don't think much of this loss. We lost to a good team on the road. Its not like its something unheard of. We played well for stretches but just didn't seem in sync during stretches of the game. Really not worried.

I would think so. Out of all the quarterbacks I saw play this year, he had the second best skill set behind Feeney from Bismarck Century. D1 body and tools. Just has to learn the game.

I wish we still had Jeff Brandt to just hoist up threes.
