  1. To me turning your back to the checker intentionally is no different than diving to draw a penalty. Games are being won and lost on these major calls which imo are not majors.
  2. The major on Kleven would not have been checking from behind in the NHL. Imo we have to get the onus back on the player in the college game. So many players are intentionally turning their backs to draw majors. I know some players reflexively turn their back to protect themselves but they cannot call it majors when the player clearly knows the check is coming and then turns their back to the checker. This is one of the chicken !@#$ rules I hate in college hockey.
  3. The difference between the college and the pro game is that in the pro game the onus is on the player being checked to not turn their back and in the college game the onus is on the checker to not make the check if a player turns their back just split seconds before being checked. A check from behind is a check delivered on a player who is not aware of the impending hit, therefore unable to protect or defend himself, and contact is made on the back part of the body. When a player intentionally turns his body to create contact with his back, no penalty shall be assessed.Aug 30, 2014
  4. Wouldn’t it be neat if Constantini caught fire like Cagulia did in the 2016 NCAA tourney. Gaber really reminds me of Duncan, even occupies the same office. Maybe his Junior or senior they’ll be chanting Hobey Baker like they did when Duncan scored goals his hobey year. Didn’t hurt Duncan that he had pretty fair line mates to set him up.
  5. I believe they pronounce it her pays pizza to avoid confusion with the std
  6. I thought the Gaber non call was a good non call. I thought the officials were consistent for both teams and imo that’s all you can ask for.
  7. Sitting at #15 still as I write this. With the auto qualifier league tournament winners I would say OSU will be out of the national tourney.
  8. Not when we just played them 2 games at our arena.
  9. As Bob Seger would say turn the page. It would worry me to go into the playoffs red hot. Even if the league tourney doesn't go well. I would be more worried if we were still red hot. Need to catch fire for the national tourney.
  10. I admit about 6 weeks ago I was chicken little and was screaming the sky is falling and the team proved me very wrong. This is not the end of the world if we share the cup
  11. We were due to lay an egg. Not a huge deal. We’ve played so well and surpassed expectations.
  12. Not having last change if we play Denver in the playoff championship would be very bad.
  13. Denver if they win and we lose would also own the #1 seed for league playoffs.
  14. I like the old wcha overtime where winner takes both points if you win in overtime. NCHC gotta be different and have 3 points so they can go to this lame overtime system where both teams get participation points for a tie.
  15. Is this ncaa wide or just our league. It sure sucks. NCAA circle jerk imo
  16. The NCAA is missing the essence of hockey. They also got rid of fighting and now all these dangerous checks from behind are not being retaliated against.
  17. Yes a little while back. The Omaha stick salute for 1 point (pretty weenie)
  18. Giving each team a point after a reg tie is giving both teams something neither earned.
  19. The old WCHA 5 minute ot where winner took all and teams split if still tied after ot. One minor adjustment of giving out 2 pts instead of three for regulation and ot wins would be all that would be needed to go back to old ot format.
  20. I think the NCHC got too gimickey with their over time. It's not indicative of the essence of hockey.
  21. Giving both teams a point for a regulation tie is stupid imo. Am I the only one that thinks this.
  22. In the old winner take all ot rules we would havw won it outright. This 3 x 3 ot blows chunks.
  23. What part of DU owns the tiebreaker do you not understand. They will have more regulation wins than us if we lose tomorrow and they win.
