  1. I believe this whole message board should be celebrating. Our fanbase made ice hockey's title game profitable. That shows that our fanbase is bigger than every non-basketball/football fanbase. (And few basketball or football fanbases are bigger)
  2. Can anyone give a link to the 2015 und sports revenue/expenses (or whatever year we can get all that info)
  3. hi, I have 2 SRO Tickets to west regional all 3 game package. I'm looking for $250. You can send me the money via paypal, and I can email them to you.
  4. Since Vancouver said that they will play him in the nhl this year once unds season is over, I don't blame him for going
  5. A Sioux logo is located throughout the United Center, which hosts the Frozen Four this year. Gotta love the ignorance of the NCAA that they choose a venue that displays the same logo that they banned.
  6. In heaven, I said that and gave proof that's not the case because I was expecting to hear that argument from people on here Sic it has been known for a while that it's being retired but as far as I know I am the first person on this site to say that the merchandise has been retired/no longer produced NOW
  7. Grand Forks Scheels employees told me this weekend that they aren't allowed to order anymore interlocking ND logo merchandise. I realize that there is a possibility of Scheels saying this to try to scare people into buying the interlocking nd merchandise right now if they were considering it, but I asked to get an interlocking ND jersey in a size that they didn't have in stock, and they said they won't be getting anymore of them in. I wanted large if you were curious:P and to answer Siouxperfan7, the Bismarck Scheels had Big Sky Regular Season Conference Championship shirts when I went there a few days after they won it. So they might have added a conference tournament shirt too.
  8. I bought sro last time they were in fargo and i was on the glass behind the goalie. I bought them the first time tickets were on sale to the public Will these be the same kind of tickets. Last time there were no students in my section so it was probably easier to get on the glass since more students arrive super early than adults
  9. this is wonderful that our most prominent Big Sky teams are competing/winning conference titles. The ironic thing about UND winning so many conference titles this year is that none of them will be won by the hockey team:P
  10. Nope, my camera takes photos a lot better than a smart phone can I like high quality photos of sioux beating gophers!
  11. Our tickets for the game tonight say no cameras. I called and asked, and they said they are enforcing it. Anyone have any experience with this? If I put my camera in my pocket, will I have issues? Are you bringing a camera?
  12. I go to games at the ralph when it opens, so if you suggest leaving Maplewood about 20 mins before doors open that works for me I don't mind walking around the arena and seeing how many sioux fans will be there Light rail on saturday huh? I have never used that....do I have to get there more than an hr before the game if I take the light rail?
  13. These will be my first 2 games at the goofers arena. What time do you suggest to arrive? We will be staying at maplewood....any auggestion of when to leave or how early we have to be there will be appreciated:)
  14. I don't think it has anything to do with preseason rankings. This is solved by a computer and I'm doubting that the user inputs ANY data about preseason rankings. BincitySioux is right that its based on your record vs your schedule and your opponents are based on their win/loss vs their opponents/schedule. UNI is high up there because they play a hard schedule. Because of the unbalanced schedules and the small sample size of 11 games per team out of so many teams, its just hard for the computer rankings to be as accurate as the pairwise in determining the quality of each teams. The pairwise gets 32 regular season games plus playoffs to eventually figure out a good playoff field. The Sarigan ratings are as quality as the pairwise is right now in the early part of the hockey season. With that said, I still find it very interesting to read them and I look for UND's place in the computer rankings every week
  15. With grand valley state no longer in d2.... This is what Kennedy meant when he said we shall fund as many championship competing sports as we can . . . We can win every d2 championship....no way bubbas football team loses to any d2 school now that grand valley state isn't around to beat us in the playoffs..... Plus imagine our mbb, wbb, and volleyball funded with fcoa and competing against d2 schools!!!...we will mop the floor with the competion!!!! (Not 1, not 2, not 3.....) All jokes aside I became a huge und fan (all sports) when we were d2 and I loved rooting for und back then but if we went back a division I would be so mad at the administration that I would lose interest in ALL und sports...even hockey and football....I am obsessed enough to have hockey season tickets even though I live in bismarck and i spend a boat ton on und merchandise but dropping to d2 would cause me to quit all of that
  16. I thought we added mens' tennis, womens tennis and one other womens sport.....maybe my memory is wrong. I agree that men's hockey's attendance wouldn't change even with a hefty price increase....but that's the ONLY sport where I believe attendance wouldn't be affected. At this moment, its a bad idea to raise football ticket prices as we just got good fan turnout again. We need to keep prices where they are so we get more people going to the games, get them hooked on Sioux football and then they could increase the prices
  17. Kennedy kept the list of safe sports from the public until he presented the list in the public, he could very well have said off the record to them that they can't make any sports cuts until we at least find out if we can switch leagues Then make all the cuts at once. Think of it this way....what happened was better than them recommending to cut swimming and women's softball (arbitrary random sports for sake of arguement) and have those sports feel like lame ducks and won't be able to recruit anyone/stop students from transferring and then in 2 months find out we are leaving the big sky and then we cut men's and women's tennis and keep swimming/women's softball
  18. I don't have any inside knowledge. Even if there was a 25% chance that we could get in the summit, we can't figure out which sports to sponsor without knowing which sports we have to cut. Those sports we added when we joined the big sky should be the first cut as they haven't had any success, have no alumni that will donate to support them, don't have division 1 quality facilities. I would assume if we can drop they will be cut regardless of how many sports we sponsor. So it makes sense that we don't drop ANY sports until we drop the big sky core sports so we only do cuts one more time (and like I said we can offset the negative press by saying that cutting those sports allows us to play the other 3 dakota schools every year so it was a necessary loss)
  19. You guys don't agree with me that und is waiting to figure out what conference they will be in long term before making cuts? Their timetable of choosing what sports to sponsor then figuring out their conference is backwards. Why would und cut any sports knowing that there is a decent chance that they will leave the big sky and thus be able to drop the big sky core sports. Und wants to do the next round of cuts all at once, I'd they dropped sports now that would force them to cut sports a third time if we were in the summit
  20. Per brad s tweet, the committee is trying to figure out how to avoid cutting any sports I stated that und will keep all sports past November 1st and then drop some athetlic programs when we are in the summit and don't have to follow the big sky s sports sponsorship rules
  21. I think I can read between the lines:) This committee was assembled to cut down unds athletic's costs, which Kennedy has said will be done by lowering the amount of sports that und sponsors and making sure we have budget in the remaining sports to fund them to championship levels. We will be cutting sports but we have to recommend cutting no sports because the sports we will eventually cut are required by our current conference, big sky. Once we move to the summit, those big sky required sports we added a few years ago will be cut. What is up in the air is if more than those sports will be cut. Think of it this way if und choose to drop swimming and tennis, they do not want to drop swimming on November 1st and tennis on the day we get allowed in summit. That would involve und dropping sports on 3 different occasions in less than a year. They want to make the next round of cuts at the same time, and if they announce them when we join a new conference the media won't be so negative as we will have positive news (summit league, hopefully mvfc and reuniting with our old rivals) to offset the negative news. The reason thes sports have to stay longer than november 1st is because we can't get into a new conference by november 1st.
  22. I thought seeds 1 through 5 are the only ones guranteed a home game when they play a non top 5 team. Regardless of rounds if you are seeds 6 to through 24 you would be bidding against each other if you are not playing a top 5 seeded team
  23. Tyson, Shane, Brock The Sioux Boys? The Sioux Brothers? The Sioux Band? siouxsports, lets hurry up and pick some name for the top line referencing the Sioux name before UND creates an official name for them:) I vote The Sioux Boys as the best name choice for the top line!
  24. I am from bismarck so I probably bought yours cratter
