  1. Terribly hard to score goals when you can't even put the puck on net...

Spot on. 3rd period Sioux putting on some pressure and 3 or 4 straight shots, hard like rockets and they go wide of the freaking goal. Goalie didn't even have to make saves. Hard to score when you don't put SOGs.
  2. this is disgraceful

After being at both games Sioux Fri and Sat and not getting home until 8:30 Sun night from the Twin Cities, was curious what was being posted following two very disappointing games. Looks like I'm in yours and many other camps here on my opinion on what I witnessed. Between the Sioux lack of any real urgency/intensity and the TC as a facility/tourney host, doubtful I'll return next season if we make it.
  3. We are supposed to have more talent then St.cloud so why is their power play better than ours?

Good question. Hell, when CC came into the Ralph last weekend their power play was actually a decimal of a percent more effective than UNDs over the course of the season. I'm not kidding.
  4. I don't think this suggestion has been aired:

STOP featuring gopher fans in the down time contests and on the big screen. They aren't in our conference they have nothing to do with the tournament. it is obvious a lame attempt by the production crew to add some emotion to the lame atmosphere that they have created and perpetuate. Another possibility is that the production crew is all gopher fans and they think it's fun to get a reaction from UND fans.

Would the Big 10 conference ever feature UND fans during the Big 10 tournament - well they probably could and the 100 fans in attendance wouldn't notice.

Hah, I thought the very same thing--agree 100% with your post.

  5. In case you missed the memo, the only way to win playoff hockey is to get lucky. Even though we are the #1 team in America, we need to rely on "luck" to win it all.

Do you ever hear football or basketball fans saying their team needs to get lucky to win in the playoffs? I haven't. Especially not the best team.

I hear you but that's the sport of hockey (especially college) though when it comes down to play-offs and just one game. There really ain't a whole lot to pick between the top 10 or 12 ranked teams in NCAA hockey so bet blindly. NCAA football and hoops, big difference between the top 3 or 4 teams and those lower ranked.

  7. So, Mafia, has "some silicone sister with a manager mister" ever told you you've "got what it takes"?

Great rendition by Manfred Mann. Great lyrics. The tune was actually written I believe by "The Boss". He had it on one of his albums but not a hit for him.
  8. There has to be some Steely Dan.

Man, love Steely Dan. Well known with lots of airplay but were slightly on the edge/fringe too. They balanced it well.
  9. I think ndsu will move the ball pretty well.

I think und still has trouble moving the ball.

I'll take ndsu by 3-5 touchdowns.

You know, I'm really not disagreeing with your assessment on the outcome (I'd rather give Bubba another year or two longer to build the his team, thx Mussman) but have the Fighting Sioux ever lost in Fargodome? Hopefully it continues to be a good luck place for us although it will no doubt be a stiff test and take a perfect game to come out with the win against a great ndsu 1-AA ftbl program.
  10. No. Oregon flops every year

I guess we need to define "powerhouse" then. If winning a natty is all that defines a powerhouse program then you're right I guess (assuming by your post that "flopping" means not ending up #1/natty at end of season?). If powerhouse means being a top program year-in, year-out then I don't call that flopping. I ain't no niche sport fan but isn't ndsu rasslin' considered a top-program (or at least it was until they left D-2 to go D-1 maybe?) but if they don't win a natty they're flopping? Hard to argue when you can't define the parameters. Agree to disagree I guess.
  11. New hotel going up just south of Liberty Lanes.  Don't recall the name but I believe it is a chain hotel.

Apartment complex directly across the street from City Hall is completed, I believe.

That's about all I've seen around EGF.

Agree, that's about it but you know, for a city of 9k that's got a sister city 6x larger right next door & with the benefits of ND's robust economy it actually does quite well with it's boardwalk of restaurants/bars by the river, busy multi-plex movie theater and Cabella's downtown. On some days (wknd) the huge parking lot adjacent to the levee/state campground is pretty plumb full.
