  1. Anyone wanna take bets on when Kelley bans the in heaven there is no beer song?

After his war on the logo now he is after getting rid of all alcohol..... I bet he was steaming this weekend with all the Sioux chants and Sioux jerseys all over national tv

Funny you say that about banning in heaven there is no beer song by the Sioux pep band, I've been saying the same thing for the past few months in light of the anti-alcohol move.  I'm still surprised they are actually allowed to still play it.

  2. Excellent job Sioux, now keep pushing on and let's finally get that elusive #8!

Is there any outside chance that Mark Mac plays??? Was he walking around okay on the ice and what is the recovery with how bad his break really was with the type of surgery?

Tickets of course will be tough now that one of the Boston teams is in, whoever out there already has tickets and will be in attendance, please keep the Sioux exposure and pride at it's best!!!

Keep this boat afloat and for those who already jumped ship, we will welcome you back now.

An old classic by Super Tramp comes to mind.  With a busted knee cap that happened maybe 4 weeks ago there's no way in hell he'll be ready for Boston.  I'm no doctor (but I did stay at...) but his Sioux playing career is over, that's for sure.

  3. They always stand at the bench and lean on the boards. Never seen the entire team sit down before in the 9 years I've been watching them. Other teams tend to actually sit down, the Sioux stay on their feet generally.

Yah, I really noticed that last Saturday in Mpls.  Den sat the whole game while the Sioux generally stood the entire game.

  4. Pilots or aviators won't work now with the unfortunate happenings in the alps:/

Well, not to dismiss it but there's always going to be plane crashes periodically.  To be honest though, I've always preferred Flyers to Pilots or Aviators anyhow if that's the route the new name went.

  5. I thought UND's physical play helped get their heads in the game more.

LJ played smart, with composure & was like a human wrecking ball at times. Maybe he needs to play this brand of hockey to be effective.

I admire Murphy for his resiliency. I think he appreciates the coach's trust in him & is trying to show his thanks with his hard play. He may be playing for a spot on the roster next year. The guy is due.

Poolman may have had a tough time keeping up with the pace of high-skilled teams like Miami earlier in the year, but he's found another level & can be a great forechecker with his improved speed. He's on defenders pretty quickly it seems when he forechecks. And what a cannon, if one of his shots ever connects with a player's melon that player may not wake up for a month.

Agree, need to play disciplined and check the emotions to some degree (but play with lots of moxy).    4 STRAIGHT = 8!!!

If they get penalized as much tomorrow night, it could be a long night dealing with SCSU's PP.

  6. I lived and worked in downtown Minneapolis for 4 years. Not sure what accepting bad service and snobby servers have do with being in a "big city".

Agree, the employees at the Pourhouse and TC were all nice/friendly to me so no complaints here. Now, if you're talking New York.....

  7. How much fun would a best of 3 be this season at the home rink of the higher seed?

    #16 RIT @ #1 Minnesota State

    #15 Providence @ #2 North Dakota

    #14 Quinnipiac @ #3 BU

    #13 Yale @ #4 Miami

    #12 St Cloud State @ #5 Denver

    BRILLIANT! I like it MM.

    #11 Boston College @ #6 UMD

    #10 Minnesota @ #7 Michigan Tech

    #9 Harvard @ #8 Nebraska Omaha

  8. To me, being in 4 straight Super Bowls and losing them all is a more impressive coaching job (Buff Bills head coach Marv Levy) than a one and done coach who wins his only Super Bowl. Examples are the TB Bucs maybe a dozen years ago ("Chuckie" Gruden wasn't it from ESPN Mon nite ftbl?), the NO coach in 2009 (beat Vikes in NFC Championship--Bounty Gate), etc. So, I'll take Haks any day over Mike Eaves at Wis. Year in and year out we are a contender/top 5 program even with lesser teams. Eaves has basically as good a program as UND history and facilities-wise for recruiting purposes but like a fishing bobber each season, Wisco is up and down. Historically bad year this past season. And I won't get into the "luck" thing but if the Frozen 16 was playoff series instead of one and done games the Sioux would have won at least two natties under Haks. The trouble is one and done tourneys don't always favor the best team although it certainly makes it more exciting though.

  9. Realize that injuries dictate some of the change, but it sure has the feel of Hak getting too cute with the lines at the wrong time of year. Load up the top 2 lines, have the Gaarder O'Donnel Pog line as a rock solid 3rd line, and have a 4th line that plays rarely if at all. There are 4 games left....not 4 months...time to ride the clydesdales.

Spot on. Game is on national tv anyhow (media commercials) so no real need to play a 4th line/lesser performing players.
  10. The Big Ten can outbid the NCHC or the WCHA with ease.  Plus this is a Big Ten market.  Nobody in the cities has even heard of the NCHC much less the tiny schools that make it up.

"Tiny schools"? The student size has nothing to do with how strong a program is. Take UND for example. It's student body I believe is as big/bigger than Duke and Notre Dame but that doesn't mean it measures up to them success-wise and brand-wise in basketball or football. Size of the school means nothing, what matter is the strength of the program. If it did, UND would be a middle of the road program in hockey and getting beat up by the likes of Min, Mich, Wis, Ohio St,...which of course as even you even know isn't the case. As Duke is in hoops, Notre Dame is in football, UND is in hockey circles.
  11. Hadju needs to learn that both teams play on bad ice.  All teams have injuries this time of year.  I understand that he is the SID, but I don't think his last name is Hartman, so quit being such a homer.  I had comments in this last weekends live chat about Zane not playing his best right now and that this isn't the time of the year for a goalie to go cold.  He was actually delusional about how Zane is performing.  Look at it, he gave up 5 goals against DU?  He has given up the odd angle goals which a goalie in the correct position doesn't give up.  Zane has been the glue for this team this year, but according to Hadju, he is the least of our concerns.  I am concerned.

While Zane wasn't Super Man this past wknd, he was by no means the problem. It was the lads in front who were the issue, hands down.
