  1. UND will play UNC again in the first round.

Tough match-up, they're on a roll. We really do miss Madi (sp?) Buck from last year's team. She was the nice kind of player with a bit of height (near 6 ft or so ) who could play both inside and outside. We din't really have that kind of player this year, at least not near her consistency and ability in both facets of the game.
  2. Have never seen so many cheap shots by a team leading in the game

Hmm, I was thinking just the same thing. You would think they were losing and had nothing to play for and that's how they're playing (they're winning and home ice to play for I think?).
  3. And I know they're technically "neutral" site games at BSC tourney but women have really struggled on the road all season so not optimistic about their chances. It seems like we've regressed the second half of the season, unlike some of the other teams who seemed to progress. Hopefully can turn it around but it won't be easy.

  4. I think ndsu will move the ball pretty well.

I think und still has trouble moving the ball.

I'll take ndsu by 3-5 touchdowns.

Big Sioux fan but realistic also. You may be right but hope not! Hell, I think the herd could take notre dame by 3 - 5 td's. Amazing how the fighting irish (not hostile & offensive I guess?) football team stays as big/popular as it is despite very little done by major college football standards in the last 25 years. They're pulling the wool over somebody's eyes.
  5. When oh when did UND do a stick salute after a win and a tie? It  doesn't mean much when you do it every game, win or lose.

Gotta admit it actually does sound nice to have players do a stick salute even if they don't sweep in order to show support for the home fans. However, if you saw the stick salute in Madison earlier this season by the Wis players following a Sioux sweep it was terrible to watch. You could literally see the Badgers did not want to be out there and doing that. It was actually uncomfortable to watch seeing them do it. So, in my mind not a good thing.
  6. Good lord, can you imagine how costly that missed call on the goal would've been had Miami tied it up?!?!

How in the hell did they not review that. I guess OD or the Sioux players could of helped out by raising their sticks thinking it was a goal but don't believe they did so that didn't help.
  7. When does EGF play next?

Sodbuster--EGF next plays on Fri morn vs Mahtomedi in semi-final at 11:00 a.m., believe it's on tv again. If they make the final I think it's at noon on Saturday. Daughter is in pep band and put on 600 plus miles today to/fro. Leaves Fri morning at 4:00a.m. (oh, she'll really love that!) on the bus again.
  8. To me that doesn't make sense as punishment.  Loyd still played 41 minutes.  It's punishment on the surface only.

Good point obborg. Just guessing that will not work too well as a deterrent to make someone stop and think next time they might commit some infraction.
  9. Again...........Omaha sucks. Should have never come to that point.

Just baffled that getting a "good look" to potentially win a home game vs. a 300+ RPI team is a "bright spot" or even worse acceptable.

Yes, Omaha does suck and it should not have come to that but hate to say it but we sucked this season too. That's why it came down to a close game in the closing seconds. We just managed to finish on the short end (damn, again). Pretty even (read competitive) match-up of teams I think so could of gone either way.
  10. That's an interesting link.  Why the huge drop from 93 to 94?  If I remember right, you guys still had a very good team in 94 even though you lost Guldseth and Jacobson from the year before, right?  It looks like other than that huge drop in one year, attendance has been relatively stable as long as you guys fielded good teams.

Hmm, got me NDSU grad. I'm very curious about that too. Anybody got any idea?
  11. Its been looked into and Faison etc has made a conscious decision to not have Bb in the Ralph. An NDSU game drew 7000 on a Tuesday and over 10,000 on a Saturday. Maybe the REA board objects or maybe the hockey coaches get pissed because they can't practice there. The women hockey team hasn't played a game in the Olympic rink for years: why is that?

When the IPF is complete, the old Hyslop will no longer have a purpose. Make it into a bowl with decent seats and video screens. Could easily seat 6000. Turn the Betty into a women's hockey arena then. Weekends the Ralph doesn't get used for MHockey can be used for concerts or bet MBB games.

Hey SiouxVolley, not sure it would ever happen but I like your thinking! I always thought the old REA would of been a perfect size hoops arena and it was nice as it only had one bowl. Would of been big enough to hold up to 6,000 fans or so, perfect size for even the NDSUs, NIs and SDSUs but if not full it wouldn't look overly empty either.
  12. Well Zane has to be at his best & we have to be better on the P P & stay out of the box - so he was pretty knowledgeable

Fetch--I'm as big a Sioux fan as anybody and agree with you. I didn't agree with all the writer said but I have been saying the last several weeks if we had an avg goalie we might be #6 or #11 or #17 in the national rankings (we'd still be good). We really don't overpower anybody, even the lower teams (Bem, AF, W Mich, CC last series,...) but hey, just win baby. In UND's defense, in ref to where the writer rags on our OOC road/neutral site games, admittedly you really can't argue. However, I'm sure the UND schedule makers had had absolutely no clue that when we went on the road to play the BADgers this season (we swept) that they were going to be such a horrible team. And I'm guessing that Providence was a home-and-home deal (?) over two seasons so that's got to be accounted for every other season.
  13. We've already discussed the #1 and #2 most played on Mafia's iPod in different thread.

As a public service, I'll report the #3 most played on Mafia's iPod. :D

Never really been a big country music fan but I just might have to start watching, uh listening, to it more. Actually, this video with the Stepford Wives/robotic type band member guys is the opposite of the video done by the late Robert Palmer for his hit "Addicted to Love", which for you young one's had real (female) "Stepford Wive's".
  14. Student attendance is not as bad as a problem as you think it is. Is it great? No. But it's not horrible. The student section its self doesnt fill up except for those days. But, with the Betty, the ushers let us sit in the rest of the arena, as long as we arent taking the spot of a ticket holder when they show up. And we like the regular seats more than the temp bleachers (Spoiled by the Ralph? Maybe.) so we are just spread out.

Hey, you make a good point I hadn't thought of. Me and my buds (not students/old guys) actually do the same too since attendance is normally 1/2 at best.
  15. Wow. Such a difference. Far superior.

    NOT.

.03 difference? Really? I noticed Mia Man the save percentage for each goalie is not listed. Just curious, what are they? I would put a hair more stock in that than I would GAA. As an example (not saying these are correct stats); if Mia faced an avg of 24 shots on goal a game but the Sioux faced an avg of 34 shots a game you tell me which goalie is doing better.
  16. I'm not sure what Brew is doing with the starting lineups lately. At NAU, Roscoe started instead of Evers. Tonight, Szabla isn't starting.

Are you serious? That doesn't happen at home. Disciplinary? Why would Roscoe start over Evers, makes no sense if she was healthy?
  17. Illinois and Florida State don't have the same issue we have so they don't really apply to this conversation.   Florida State got tribal approval and I am not sure what Illinois did to avoid problems.

You can pretend that we had a way out but we didn't and that happened before Kelley came into office.  The only program that wouldn't have been totally screwed was the hockey team.  That may be the only program some care about but it isn't the only one on campus.

I was strong nickname supporter until the cost got too high.  It wasn't really a hard decision for those that care about a majority of the sports on campus.

    Gotta admit, well said.
  18. Whos he, he sucks sh.....has been going on for over a decade. Blame the older generations.

Over a decade? That's for sure. I believe it's been going on for at least 3 - 4 decades. I was at school 81-85 and believe it was going on then or at least soon thereafter.
