Consider that most were high level achievers during their high school career. The first inclination is to play at the highest level they can. Then they get buried on the bench, they still have the talent just maybe overstepped their level or went too far away from home.

In the men’s side King sort  of fits exactly that having been a stand-out Minn HS player then seeing little action at Iowa St. Star/great player for UND these past two seasons, no, but he has been a real nice addition to the men’s team.

The Quinnipiac OT winner was also in Tampa.

I've been an advocate for a few years of rotating "destination" warm weather Frozen Four host cities, like Tampa and possibly Vegas, if things go well next year.  I think Nashville would go over well as a Frozen Four site, and is pretty centrally located east/west-wise for the majority of college hockey fan bases.

Agree. Rotate Tampa, Las Vegas, and Nashville yearly.

So how many offers does a commit have to have to be considered "huge"? 6? 10?

Not sure but I would think more than one.

Yeah, I'm all in favor of dumping the Bemidji games for someone else.  Their style of counterpunching does not lead to a lot of exciting play and there's no upside in the pairwise even if you win.

Yup, agree, drop Bemidji as there’s nothing to gain in the Pairwise if you beat them and everything to lose if you lose to them.  This season was a Pairwise ball buster for UND with the loss and a tie.  UND must be the Super Bowl for Bemidji cus they sure play us tough (UND just 6 wins in last dozen games vs them).

That's what really bugged me!  UND had the extra skater on and do you think the crowd would get off their a**es and start screaming.  UND had homerink advantage in St. Paul - stands full of green and white.  WHERE THE HELL WHERE THEY DURING THE GAME??  Last one at the X - you'd have thought they never would have wanted to sit down.  They got a little loud eventually but then we get within 1 and they're staring at their phones again.  Pathetic...

Huh? I sure hope this is sarcasm.

Stop with the damn no-look passes in our D-zone!

I know!  Either they do not listen to Berry saying knock that of f guys (then hold them accountable if they don’t listen, coach) or he does not say anything at all regarding it (which he should). Sigh.

Like my buddy said, refs on replay review should at least be allowed to call a 2 minute minor on such replay reviews for embellishment or delay of game. What does the player have to lose  there? Nothing.

Wrong! They’d have to get so unlucky to lose this series. Just listened to the UND pod. Last Saturday was confirmed classic case of no puck luck. Won’t happen again.

No puck luck last Saturday?!   Puck luck (lack of) was certainly not the issue/cause for that meltdown.

I would argue that this represents the state of the program.  Maybe it is good that UND fans are humbled a bit, as I recall a cocky overconfident sentiment that prevailed in a good portion of our fanbase where people thought there was no way we could lose a series or a game based on the opponent.  As we have seen, especially in a one and done situation any team can beat another on a given night.   We probably need a little bit of middle ground between optimism and pessimism, but the trajectory of the program is leaning toward the latter, which is not great.

    Gotta agree.

Good move to put Hedquist in, even though T.J. is not even close to being the biggest problem tonight.

Agree, he was in no way the issue. Def blunders yet again cost us and offense not putting it past the Mavs goalie for 1-1/2 periods did us in.

He went after anybody after the whistle during the game. After the horn blew at the end he crosschecked Berg in the lower back. The linesman had to bear hug him and skated him to the away team locker room gate. I was hoping that Kunz could squish him into the boards to, you know, knock the wind right out of that little worm.

    Penalty called on him?

Hopefully lesson learned, especially when you just had to put it off the boards and out.  The bigger issue for me, is after that, they went into a shell and Omaha had all the offensive zone time.  This happens time and again, and if the coaches can’t get their players to stop reverting to that every time when the game gets close, they need to be held just as accountable for losses in those circumstances as those that make ill-advised plays.

With how much hockey these guys (even the freshmen who are by now really sophomores by this point in the season) have played so in their lifetime, if the lesson had not already been learned yet it never will be. Think about that, a backward blind pass into your own slot.

Dirty play.  Why such a long review?

I thought the exact same thing sitting there waiting. Review should have taken 5 seconds.
