If we finish this weekend with Britt's flukey goal last night as the only 5x5 goal scored, that's pretty brutal for sure.

    You said it.  Out played.

Not sure what team I’m watching. Really inconsistent. Expectations have changed a bit for me. Super good teams aren’t this inconsistent. Sweeps can’t happen at this time of the year. Luck will be needed.

Seems to me playing at home and away is starting to be the common denominator. Not exactly sure though what their home snd away record is for this season though but just a hunch.   To their credit, they did fare well  at Denver, St Cloud, and BU.

How in the h e l l do you leave a guy wide open in front of your net like that. Good gravy.

As the third period drags on, this is getting more frustrating to watch.  Can we score a goal 5 on 5?!  Painful to watch.  In last month we have made both CC and Omaha look like # 1 team in the country.

Hot goalie my a$$. That doesn't explain the lack of urgency from the Penrose Cup winners. We'll make Miami's goalie look good if we come out like this next week.

Agree.  Slight sarcasm on my part. Note I stated a bit more urgency from several players would sure help. I share your frustration.

How are we 3 in the country , wow

Good question. Being dominated this wknd by a team fighting for NCAA tourney life. Are we sorta like the Sioux football team? Home warriors but road cupcakes. We got our ass swept at CC and now happening again at Omaha, both good/decent teams for sure but not top 5 ranked.

    hot goalie schloss

Yup. The proverbial hot goalie yet again. A bit more urgency from several players would sure help.  Is  Dylan James playing tonight?  I may have nodded off for a few minutes but I’ve   yet to hear his name called tonight on Midco.

They are beating us to the puck time and time again.

We are playing far and happy.  Gotta be better.  I get it the red cows have a lot in the line but amp it up a notch Sioux.

    Heckuva portal pickup.

Wonder why he didn't come to UND right away

I’ve wondered about that too.  My guess in UND didn’t recruit him as I thought he was a UND fan growing up.

Having a stacked team guarantees it, like 1997 Michigan, 2010 UND, etc…

I’d love to know who would have won championships over the last 40 years if there were 5 game series instead of one and done.  My guess is we’d have picked up 2-4 others (including the lost year) and lost 1 or 2 as well.

Hockey has, statically, the largest variance in actual result versus implied result of the major sports (tennis is last).  You have to be good, but luck has to be on your side to win.

I’ve always said what you just stated/agree fully.

Duluth just hanging around like they always do.  Feels like we will need a greasy one to win this one.

Just the opposite!  Highlight reel game winning goal  by James to put the Sioux up 3-2!

Never have changed my position, his post season record speaks for it self.

I hear ya. Just one NCAA tourney game win since winning the natty with a loaded team in 2016.  Also failed to qualify for the NCAA tourney on three (?) occasions, I believe.  Heck, I think the UND football team has equaled that same success in terms of the number of NCAA tourney game wins during that same timeframe.  Yoy.

Hopefully it’s just a fluke and a major wake up call

Let’s hope so.  I think next wknd at home vs a not very good Duluth team will be a good measuring stick of who this team is. Under the circumstances, anything less than a sweep is unacceptable. Even if we sweep but play two fairly close games, I would still have some concern.

Berry is likely secure in his position unless something extremely serious occurs. The season could completely fail, yet he would still remain. This isn’t to advocate for his dismissal, but rather to highlight that under most conditions, Chaves wouldn’t dismiss him.

    Gotcha.

We have about as weak of an AD as you can have. UND will not part ways with him even if things get worse.

Why do you say that (your second sentence?  I don’t necessarily disagree maybe but curious what’s the basis for it in your opinion.

Our pairwise score went up still.....

    ??????

After how the beanpot tourney and ratings went though, it should. We lost to a top 15 team on the road at mile high altitude and we were on a huge non-regulation loss streak!  We can’t be near perfect every game.

No one is arguing about the last 25-30 years.  It's about the way things have gone the last seven or so.  The regular season titles are nice, but this team vastly underperforms later in the season under Berry since the title team of Hak's recruits.

    You nailed it, guy.

Yea Hakstol never choked in the playoffs.  How many titles did he win again?

Whatever. They were still a better hockey team season to season under his watch. College hockey though is cruel in that it is one and done.   The NHL surely recognized that and hired him.  Berry ain’t got no NHL teams knocking on his door.

I'd tell Brad he's embarrassing right to his face, but he always no-shows for the meet-ups.  Kind of like how the team no-shows for all the NCAA tournaments after all these amazing NCHC regular season titles in the greatest hockey league ever to exist....which is why UND has done so well in NCAA play lately.

Yup. Just one win I believe (?) in ncaa tourney play since winning the natty with Haks players in 2016.  Let that sink in.  Big, big, test tomorrow. Sioux hitting 3 pipes in 3rd period tonight ain’t helped but still a lackluster showing vs CC.

Better give a little effort here…got another game tomorrow.

What a !@#$ show by No Dak. TBH though, does not really surprise me though. Let’s hope for a big 3rd period tonight vs a high quality CC team.

Persson has never beat CC, using analytics (which I hate) says Hobie should have started. Granted the team hasn't helped at all.

He has given up 11 goals to them in less than 8 periods this season. Atrocious save percentage vs them this season although his defense has not helped him much tonight.

The bottom 3 teams are very bad including us.  Big gap between bottom and top teams

Very accurate statement. We really lack athletic height/length (which NDSU has).  Our shooting has been horrid pretty much all season.  Last night vs Denver an exception to that. I assume we shot well vs them because they are an awful team.
