  1. Fun game today vs Sac St, shame the Sioux couldn't up the lead even more on the Bee's early as Sac St only had 3 pts at the 13:15 mark 1st half. Had the Sioux made a few more fg's and ft's, maybe a different result instead of losing by 2 pts.

  2. I'm a huge fan of the quiet pool over by the Mediterranean restaurant.  Maybe WMU should spend less time trying to play goons, and more playing hockey.

Good point. I really think that's a reflection of their head coach. I think he's becoming the Sioux fans new George Gwozdecky to hate/rag on, not a very likeable/an annoying guy.
  3. Prior Lake one of bigger schools in Twin Cities. Play in one of the best big school conferences in TC. Conference produces handful of D1 players each year. Same conference as Apple Valley which produced Tyus Jones. JP Macura at Xavier. Joey King at Mn. To name a few.

Thx, I stand corrected (I know of Apple Valley and T. Jones). Hopefully Shanks continues to develop.
  4. Ok... I'll admit it... I was "that guy" today. I perused another team's fan board today. I'm bored... So be it...

This guy is a gem... Anyone else think we were "intimidated" by Western? Anyone see a player who looked "wore down" ... Excellent grammar haha... What was the "message" that was sent? That they'll be anything better than a bottom feeder? No... Lol I think it's laughable...

The end of the game was imbarassing. We picked a fight because we were losing just stupid behavior led by Murray.

Wow, Bronco colored glasses I take it or very much into moral victories (admittedly it was a "close" 3-0 game but Sioux shut down W. Mich in the 3rd period)? That editorial about a team that was a half minute away from being shut-out 3-0 last night? Strange.

I'm ok with this and very proud of what happened toward the end. Over the years North Dakota has the reputation of a playing style of trying to physically intimated players/teams by playing with an edge.

I love Hargrove working hard going to the net, leaping over a fallen North Dakota player, he falls and while he is getting back to his feet bumps into the smaller Stecher who intern flies into McInter. This was certainly less innocent than than what a North Dakota player did earlier in the game going hard to the net and running Hafner (no call here).

The North Dakota player cross checks Hargrove after the whistle and then tries to get in Hargroves face to teach him a lesson. Things get chippy, but Hargrove sends the message back Broncos wont be intimidated.

What I like is how everyone grabs a guy and what we end up with is WMU on top off every single North Dakota player. Who's intimating who now? http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/

My favorite moment was Goff cross body throw of Odonnell and pinning him down on the ice. After Odonnell says uncle, Goff kindly lets him up, but Odonnell thinks he is free to take on another Bronco. Goff responds by going over to Odonnell with one hand grabs him by the throat and pins him up against the board as Odennell squirms helplessly

The tone has been set with North Dakota as they know we are not a team who can be physically intimidated, in fact, the after last night they know the Broncos are actually more physical than they are.

They also found out we are a very quick team and can skate with anybody. Did you see how shocked/surprised and wore down the North Dakota player who was interviewed after the first period?

Broncos did nothing wrong in the end, stood their ground and sent a message

  5. I was unable to watch the game last night.  I see that Shanks only played 14 minutes (and didn't score).  He didn't get hurt, did he?  And Cashman only played 2 minutes.  Zero points from the post is not good!  I realize that Shields had a nice game but he wasn't truly playing the 5, was he?

Uh, is it just me or is Shanks been a bit of a disappearing act in the last few weeks? He sat out a year and he's just a freshman, I get it. He seemed to start well last month considering he sat out a year but lately it seems more regression instead of progressing (relatively small sample size I realize). I do like his shooting touch but I've seen him miss some fairly easy shots. I checked and in Min med size HS level (I believe?) at 7 ft (or near) he averaged just 12 pts his senior year I believe. Seems like a 7 footer in Min in HS should score more than that just by accident. I'll be patient though as short time I realize he's played in college and 7ft is 7 ft.
  6. Rabbit's foot has been with us so far tonight, played fine for sure but maybe fortunate to be up 2-0. Sioux need to rev it up in the 3rd period cus obviously being down W Mich will. I have to think the broncos will play more disciplined to cut back on the penalties while at the same time (as always) the refs will try to even it out as we've had our share of power plays.

  7. Not going to happen. We can't even get people to attend now, and with FBS we'd need to up our attendence massively. Let's just worry about being competitive in FCS first and not go off half cocked on some FBS dream. Coming up with money for another 22 scholarships isn't going to be easy to find either.

Spot on TRex, you read my mind.

  8. You play your best players. Cashman and Shanks are much better that Calc or Salmonson.

Don't disagree with you but then that reflects poorly on Jones' recruiting then if the two seniors (correct?) are not as good/can't play a particular role well enough to get some minutes over the freshmen. I guess that's why we're at where we're at then.
  9. They still show up thinking Boschees, Vonesh, Gulseth, et al are going come running out on the floor...

Hey, I'm an old guy and it's sad the amount of "youngsters" (under 35?) that make the games. The only time the students even half show up is for free pizza, NDSU or Min.
  10. I never understood the whole intent to blow the whistle. If you intended to blow the whistle then why didn't you. I just watched the Midco replay of UND's 4th goal (yes, it crosses the line on the goalie's skate side) last night that was improperly disallowed/not counted. If there was "intent to blow the whistle" then why did the refs even bother reviewing the video replay? Like some other sports leagues do on occasion, the NCHC powers to be owe UND an official apology.

  11. How could there be intent to blow the whistle when the puck was never stopped? The rebound went out to OD, he shot it in the net. The only time the puck stopped  was when it was in the net.

$1M question from a not so great hockey mind; intent to blow the whistle for what reason? Was the ref about to call a penalty, did he lose sight of the puck,...? Did they give an official reason as to why there "was intent to blow the whistle"? There had to be a reason unless it's an outright lie.
