  1. Looks like a wet lunch for me!?
  2. . I work downtown. There are many places within a few blocks that have patios you can drink and eat and smoke. But if you think you can do all that and get back to a 7:30 game after the Sioux win at 6:45, you are a better man than I. If you want to get back in time for the second period, you are in luck.
  3. Yeah, but the level of talent they played against... Wait, never mind.
  4. TBA on the NCHC site: http://www.nchchockey.com/page/show/876897-schedule
  5. So, you are saying those three teams are in the same boat as all the teams in the Big Ten?
  6. That was an NHL level play. Not saying these guys are ready for NHL, but that's the kind of passing and shooting I see watching the NHL. CC newspaper writers must watch a lower level. In low technology civilizations, high technology is indiscernible from sorcery. In low level hockey, high level hockey is indiscernible from luck, apparently.
  7. Duluth will be traveling out east as a #2 seed with two weeks rest, instead of a #1 or 2 seed with games against the best teams in the country this weekend. Annoying perhaps, but a pretty good place to start for a run at the title.
  8. Forgive my friend here, he is pretty slow.
  9. We have last change all next weekend, and if things go our way, last change the rest of the year.
  10. My best guess it was #21. O'Donnell, correct?
  11. I suppose you are right. If there was anyway Penn State could beat the Gophers tonight, a Spartan win would put the Gophers at #3, playing the Badgers Thursday night followed by Michigan Friday and Sparty Saturday if they got that far.
  12. It must be the camera angle, both those teams look lethargic at best on my TV.
  13. Whoah, I first read "assisting" instead of "assessing". Welcome.
  14. Or pick a team you want to face At the REA and not Boston....
  15. Sounds like they are preparing their skaters for the next level: bus rides in the ECHL.
  16. "Everything was done the right way [at Penn State]. It’s the model of how to start a program, and they’re proving they can be successful" Jason Gonzalez has a point: Penn State picked an autobid conference to join, and scheduled most of their non-conference games against the other autobid conference. It is a model for a program to have a have a winning record with a pretty weak team.
  17. Gopher's best player Connor Reilly has yet to recover from that knee to knee he had against Wisconsin.
  18. I have this vision of the trainers trying to restrain Colton from putting on the gear Friday night. The kid has desire; if he can dress he will play.
  19. I don't know about you but I hope he's skating
  20. Just looked at the Badgers record on the RPI page.; How bad are they? 2 goals scored in the last 5 games. 4 of the last 5 games were shutouts. Those must be tough games to watch.
  21. Thanks Jim, that helps me understand how the QWB is applied. I used to understand the 'old system' before the amplifiers and the QWB and could give an educated guess what would happen if Team A won and Team B lost, that usually was roughly close. With the new system, I am looking for a shortcut algorithm to figure out probable RPI changes based on individual team wins and losses in the new system. Maybe there are too many variables to even do that without putting together a Bayesian program.
  22. The iterative nature of the system makes it hard to give a definitive answer I understand. But assuming all things balance out based on SOS, does that qwb and 'on the road' status mean that SCSU would have a 0.07 or 0.09 'bonus' compared to minnesota?
  23. I don't claim to understand the QWB or the new PWR correctly. Does SCSU receive 0.035 points for each theoretical win over Omaha? With the games on the road I understand there is a bonus for that as well. Considering Minnie get no bonus for the theoretical winds against Penn State, it appears to me that SCSU would flip the Gophers if both teams sweep.
