  1. I agree. Don’t let them get into the game.
  2. This season, my most-hated opponent is Minn-Duluth. They are back to back NCAA champs, and we cannot let them have 3 in a row. They must be stopped at all costs. If it came down to an NCAA game between the Gophers and Bulldogs, I would root for the Gophers.
  3. In a way, regular season conference championships are actually more impressive than conference tournament championships or even national championships because they represent consistency over a long period. Tournament champions, whether they be conference or national, show that you got hot at the right time. That being said, the Natty is still the Holy Grail. Wisconsin hockey has more national championships (6) than conference regular season championships (3 WCHA, 0 Big Ten).
  4. Agree on this. Not sure if Jones would have done the same given the situation. Also, Not sure if it was coached thing or not, but getting USD into team foul trouble in the second half, while staying out of foul trouble ourselves, was a literal game changer.
  5. One of the great things for UND about the Summit League tournament is that there is no overlap with hockey. As an example, think of the 9 day stretch we are currently in - Friday and Saturday hockey at Omaha; Sunday, Monday , and Tuesday? Playoff MBB in Sioux Falls, and Friday and Saturday playoff hockey in Grand Forks. A person with some time on their hands could attend all of those events all within a 7 hour drive of each other.
  6. It would definitely mean a lot for the state and the rivalry.
  7. What an opportunity tomorrow night playing against a lower seed with a conference championship game appearance on the line. Let’s get our team on ESPN Tuesday night!
  8. Free throws kept us in the first half, and sealed the game at the very end, so I’m happy with our FT stats overall.
  9. What a game of runs! Glad we got ours at just the right time.
  10. It really has gotten bad. I was in JL Beers IN GRAND FORKS on a home game football Saturday, and had to ask them to change one of the TVs to our game. Part of the problem (and this has been an opinion of mine for a long time) is that the Ralph is too big and fancy. Too many people became interested in going to hockey, and as they spent their time and money on hockey, they stopped spending it on other sports.
  11. UND needs to concentrate its efforts to be Summit contenders. This is one the best mid-major tournament atmospheres, and we should be striving to be a part of it. I've been waiting for a year where UND has a decent shot at winning it to experience it myself. This weekend would actually be ideal, because you could do hockey on Friday and Saturday in Omaha, and BB on Sunday night in Sioux Falls.

    Bubba extension

Bubba wasn't quite as old as I thought he was, but this deal should take him to retirement (hopefully).

    Bubba extension

I'm a little confused why it's called a 4 year extension (maybe because it's 4 more seasons from now?), but his initial contract was through the 2021 season, so an additional 2 years, by my math.

  16. Someone has to take down the Bison. We can't let them win the football national championship AND go to the big dance.
  17. Goehring will be HC of this program at some point, I predict.
  18. Same with #89 Maag. Lots of plays in their future, hopefully. Who is #82 - is he also a receiver?
  19. I don't see us giving up more than 2 goals. Hopefully our scoring is a little more potent than last Saturday and we can get 3 on the board. I'll add an empty-netter in the final minute for a 4-2 final.
  20. In hindsight, this has proven to be true. To be fair, I don't think anyone that was familiar with the NCC 20 years ago, including those from the XDSUs, but especially those from the UXDs, would have imagined the level of DI success that was eventually realized by all 4 schools, especially NDSU in football. UND was especially caught off guard because our flagship sport already had solid DI footing and success, and we didn't think the other stuff was necessary. The real mistake was trying to replicate the men's hockey success to the women's side instead of building real DI football and basketball rosters. It's definitely an "if only..." part of UND's past, but we are in a much better position today, and hopefully we're on a level playing field with the other Dakota schools ASAP.
  21. As a city, I personally don't find Las Vegas that enticing, but I do think it would make for a fabulous Frozen Four host. I think a lot of people would be excited to go there for it. Good time of year weather-wise, too.

  23. I think this matches my opinion exactly.
  24. Amen. I've long believed that no NCAA football program should out-recruit UND in Canada.
  25. Glad our foreign recruiting connections (Canada, Netherlands) are still in tact.
