I attended the St. Louis Frozen Four in 2007, my first ever. I had been to St. Louis as a kid, so the novelty as a new city wasn't there. Here's what I remember about it: The people of the city generally didn't know what a "Frozen Four" is, which can be a problem in general with college hockey in markets without a college team. Attendance at the games, however, was record setting at the time. (Only Ford Field in 2010 has a higher championship game attendance). The weather was chilly (I want to say highs in the 40s), which was unfortunate considering it had potential for good weather (Average high in early April is low 60s). On Friday, I visited the Larimore Plantation, which is source of the town name Larimore, ND, my hometown. I saw Ryan Duncan win the Hobey, which was the hockey highlight of the trip. Friday night, I was at a blues joint and made friends with a Michigan State fan. The Spartans went on to win the National Championship the next night, so I was happy for him. I don't remember what I did on Saturday during the day. Unfortunately, the Cardinals were not playing at home that weekend. Sunday morning, which was Easter, was the flight back to Grand Forks and I think the high temperature was something like 14. Overall, the St. Louis sports commission seemed pretty excited to host, even if the people weren't necessarily aware. With the Blues winning the Stanley Cup recently, (and no more Rams) hockey might be more at the forefront of the St. Louis sports scene. If the Frozen Four coincides with the Cardinals at home, I think it would be a pretty good site.

I agree, and some of their competition might be the opposite. I feel like we could do good things in the upcoming season.

Nice job by the coaches to get this one.

I'm not sure what's happening here - he's committed to UND but his recruitment is still open?
-
WIthout that eagle on the 16th, I'm sure it would have gone to a playoff with so many tied near/at the top. That eagle was a thing of beauty, though.

I’m assuming that the move to MVFC has no effect on Midco’s right to televise home games?
-
“Me and my teammates are very determined to turn this team into a national champion,” Navratil said. “I believe that we can grab a title in my years here. We’re changing the work ethic to get what we deserve.” Yes, please!!!!
-
One common thread I've noticed for the 2021 recruits is that the coaching staff is really giving them the feel of a "family" atmosphere, like "home."
-
What’s people’s assessment of recruiting this year? Are we closing the gap with our primary MVFC rivals?
-
It would be a good sign if UND 7-4 in the first year of MVFC. And I hope at least one of the conference victories is against a school with "Dakota" in its name.
-
I predict Bochenski will win, and he will have Robin David to thank for splitting votes between her and the incumbent Brown.
-
Someone please move it to its own, please.
-
Seriously?! Wow, that would seem like a pretty good get for UND, then.
-
Who were his other offers?

I rooted so hard against Kevin Feeney....this May take some getting used to!

I should have said a new wrinkle in Bubba's recruiting footprint. I do remember Mussman getting kids out of AZ.
-
This is a new wrinkle in the recruiting footprint, as far as I know.
-
I take it back - on Sunday afternoon ESPN2 is airing 4 NCAA Hockey Championship games, though none are UND's 2016 game. (2002, 2009, 2011, 2015)
-
The reason I noticed that was because I was actually looking at the ESPNU schedule thinking there might be some Frozen Four re-broadcasts today/tonight/this weekend since today would have been the 2020 Frozen Four semifinals. Unfortunately, ESPN is giving no love for college hockey on what would be the sport's biggest weekend.

2007 WCHA Final Five championship game currently airing on FSN. ALmost end of regulation. Sioux lose that game in OT to Blake Wheeler's attempt to save icing.

Beat the Bison in '20 and won't have to worry about that
-
I would be cool if other sports starting implementing football's 4-game rule (could be even more for sports with more games).

As much as they are our rivals, sad to see Minnesota and Wisconsin in disarray with hockey. They are two proud programs. College hockey as whole needs good Minnesota and Wisconsin teams.

Wow, that is a damning article.
