  1. Unbelievable that we didn’t win this game.
  2. Football does not have a good track record on hockey destination games. Hopefully that changes today. I hate to be that guy to actually say it, but today I’d much rather win in football and lose in hockey than the other way around.
  3. Love this idea. UMaine and UNH are the closest to peer institutions that UND has, with D1 hockey and FCS football. Would love to do out-of-conference home and home in both sports.
  4. In 2019-2020, They were fifth in the nation in attendance, averaging an over capacity crowd. https://www.uscho.com/stats/attendance/division-i-men/2019-2020/ another thing to keep in mind is that was Penn State’s decision to start a hockey program essentially broke up the old WCHA. It’s worked out ok for us, but I do feel for Minnesota missing out on all those regional conference games. I just don’t see the passion for the Gopher hockey program anymore.
  5. People keep posting in the 2020 thread for some reason.
  6. haha
  7. Another reasonable question: Do Penn St. fans know there's a hockey game on Saturday?!
  8. On paper, it may not seem very worthy of playoff discussion. But, the article states: "this is how I project the field to look like on November 21st, not as how it looks today." To me, the fact that UND is not mentioned means he doesn't see UND as a team who's progressing as the season goes on, which is a mistake, IMO. Seems like a diss.
  9. https://www.inforum.com/bison-media-zone/mens-sports/football/7256317-2021-FCS-Bracketology-1.0 Izzo doesn’t have faith we can get it done.
  10. I assume that you had to be a member of the team during the 2020-21 school year for this to apply? It wouldn't apply to this year's freshman, or any future recruits, right?
  11. Do hockey fans know there’s a football game on Saturday?!
  12. I think you've got it hit on the head pretty well. Since so many of our 5th years are on defense, I hope that Seguin, Larson (hope he brings his brother along), Krzanowski, and Morrison all stay so we don't have to go through as many growing pains on that side of the ball. Also not sure who's in line for those special teams positions, so keeping those guys around (especially Peterson) would be nice. Offensively, I feel like we would be ok without Maag or Boltman, but having the depth would be nice. Either way, I don't see either of those two as a make/break player for the 2022 season.
  13. Those guys are listed as "5th" for their class, so I wasn't talking about any of those guys.
  14. For sure in at 7-4. Maybe even in at 6-5, but I wouldn't want to go that route to find out
  15. I think it was tongue in cheek, unless I’m also unaware.
  16. Something that I think gets overlooked is that the QB a lot of people like to rag on is a SOPHOMORE! I can't imaging he's peaked and regressing. He's still learning. He'll get more comfortable with running for a few yards if he can't make a throw. He's already knocked off Sam Houston St., Southern Illinois, Missouri St., South Dakota, and South Dakota St. (albeit, all at home, but still not a bad resume). He's done a lot already, and will continue to do a lot.
  17. A head coach from one of the good NSIC schools (SCSU, Winona St., SW Minn. St.), a protégé of Starkey's from CSP, or an assistant from a regional Big Ten school (Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Nebraska, all of which are national powerhouses) would all be good directions to pursue, IMO.
  18. Yes, let's get Tiffin out of the way and get somebody in here that can restore what Hardee started.
  19. Do all of the players listed as “Senior” on the roster still get another year of eligibility if they want it?
  20. Anyone know of recruits at the game yesterday? Besides Luna Larson, what other big names are still out there?
  21. Other than some botched red zone chances, this was a solid game. 2 QB system seems to be working quite well last 2 games. O-line is starting to gel, just needed those reps. Think how young they are. Heck, think how many games our sophomore quarterback has started already. He’ll probably break some records before he graduates. Think of how solid our depth is getting. 4 running backs have had a 100 yard game. Weren’t both Jalens out today? And we still had very solid run defense. Had lots of receiving yards with no Maag. Lots to look forward to, even if the 2021 season gets cut short. One thing I’d like to see is some nifty play calls when we need just a few yards. We have seen trick plays go for 25-30 yards, but how nice would it be to pick up that 4th & 2 with something other than a QV keeper or OW run? Maybe we’re saving those for bigger moments? Save them too long and the moments won’t be big anymore.
  22. Utah State kicker having a bad game as well - missed wide, missed short, and just had one blocked. not the backup kicker, either.
  23. I’m going to make a bold call: this team will be 6-4 when they head to Brookings on 11/20.
  24. Looking at the NSIC standings, the five North Dakota / NW Minnesota teams are a combined 1-44. That is some dreadful volleyball in this region.
  25. Starkey? Actually looks like a lot of the NSIC teams have good records this year. Maybe one of Starkey's assistants, too, would be a cool route to take.
