I was looking at this, too, yesterday. The closest train station is Greenvale, which is on the Long Island Railroad (https://www.mta.info/agency/long-island-rail-road), but that's still 3 miles from the football stadium. So you could walk that 3 miles if that's your thing, or probably get a cab/Uber/Lyft. The Long Island RR is interconnected to the rest of the NYC subway system at Jamaica. An added bonus is that the US Open Tennis Tournament would be taking place at the same time of year.

Are schools looking to schedule 12-game seasons to get them an extra chance to pad a playoff resume with wins? Or why 12? Seems like unnecessary chance for injury, especially if you're anticipating multiple playoff games.

Seems weird the later date (the away game) was listed first. I (incorrectly) assumed at first that UND had foregone a home game next season just to get a game scheduled. I personally think a Thursday night game will be a big hit.

Just got listening to the podcast. I thought they may do a season prediction but probably a bit early with unknown roster positions. I'll say 9-3 would the benchmark for a good season. Double digit wins would be a great season, and less than 8 would be a disappointment. Curious - how did we end up with back to back seasons with NDSU at home?

If a program is going to take a hard stance in regards to the portal, then I’m ok with that so long as the player is aware of that ahead of their decision.

NCAA Quarterfinals were this past weekend. Kentucky beat Creighton, Wisconsin beat Texas (in Austin), Texas A&M beat Nebraska (in Lincoln), and Pitt beat Purdue to become the Final Four. Some great matches. Set 4 of T A&M vs. UNL went to 37-35 (!!!) I'd snag an assistant from either Wisconsin, Nebraska, or Creighton to head UND's program.

Man, if I were the fan base of either Montana school, I would be salivating right now. Play your biggest rival in the national semi-final while waiting on the other side is either a double-digit seed east coast team or one of the last four in the tournament.

I'm ok giving this game to Homer. Can let Spunar ease his way back in against Mercyhurst and probably pad his stats, too.

It seems to me that most transfer portal decisions are mutual between players and coaches, at least at UND. I think UND does a pretty good job managing that part.

No in my opinion What is really too bad is that UND didn't seize an unprecedented opportunity to be the only college football team from North Dakota playing a game this weekend.

I was thinking about this. It makes sense, but I also don’t like the fact that that particular outcome would make UND the last/only Dakota school without an FCS title. That doesn’t sit well with me.

Maybe not “forced” but probably a reasonable decision for the sake of continuity and not hanging a guy (or guys) out to dry after 1 season. I don’t disagree if that was the strategy. I also don’t disagree to do something else if that strategy proved ineffective. Ultimately, Schmidt will now have to own whatever decision he makes in regards to Ike.
