Also don't forget that they won two games they probably shouldn't have- USD and MSU. I think no matter how you slice it, UND starts the season 2-2. It just wasn't the two wins two losses we were expecting.
  2. I agree. At first, I wanted games on Root sports, and I emailed midco to carry them in their North Dakota markets. But that didn't happen, and now Root games are blocked from watch Big Sky, so having a game on Root would be lose-lose for UND - no TV, no internet.
  3. Even if ISU beats NAU on Saturday, the conference title will still hinge on the UND/NAU matchup next week. The only way UND can lose a game and still be conference champs is if the game isn't to NAU. Of course, the simplest (though maybe not the easiest) way to get that title home would be to win the remaining 3 games. Like the guys on the football forum say: "Just win, baby!"
  4. Unc prevails to stay one game back.
  5. Unbelievable comeback in set 3. Down 7 on multiple occasions, we rattle off the last 7 to get the 25-23 set and match.
  6. Set 2 to UND 25-21. EWU is a hard team to put away, it seems.
  7. UND takes set 1 over EWU 25-19. EWU is a scrappy team.

No questions here. I've been a long proponent of winning the conference. I don't care if we're the 3rd or 4th rated Big Sky team come end of the season. They can't leave you out if you win it.
  9. Wouldn't it look better for UND if usd had won that game? Losing to ndsu is a bad loss for usd, which makes und's loss to usd look pretty bad.
  10. The team was out at Memorial practicing when I drove by - anybody out there watching?

That would be something if two Big Sky teams were seeded, but only one Missouri Valley.
  12. I actually was wondering how the bison were doing too, because I knew there was a chance they could lose to UNI, and I wanted to know if it was happening/had happened. So maybe that's what they were wondering too?
  13. I want UND to beat the Gophers (and Bulldogs, and Pios, etc) just as much as any UND fan, but I honestly feel the pressure lifted off after winning the natty last April. It's so nice to have that one in the bank. Just keep in mind, Hakstol proved you could pretty much botch the first half of the season and still make the frozen four. So I wouldn't get too out of sort just yet.
  14. Especially with a big hockey series (Denver) in town that weekend.
  15. All the home hockey games are on TV, too. I would probably actually prefer to stay home and watch on TV (like I do with the hockey games), but the football team needs support at the venue, so I go support them, and will continue to until they don't need me in the building, like the hockey team.
  16. http://nobowls.com/ jackrabbits drop from being seeded, and we are back to playing them in Brookings. I get the feeling they will be our first round match up. I hope the game is in Grand Forks, though.
  17. Oh, I thought you were complaining that people were standing for kickoff.
  18. As for point #3, doesn't the PA announcer say "everybody up for the kickoff!"?
  19. That scenario won't work because ndsu won't be playing the first weekend.
  20. Yes. Best overall regular season record hosts the postseason. Simplist way for UND to do that is to win all remaining games, and it won't matter what any other team does.
  21. I am aware of that. Even if we are the 4th ranked big Sky team in the polls, an auto bid leaves no doubt. Of course, that assumes UND takes care of business the next two weeks. I will rooting for Cal Poly this next week.
  22. This is reaffirming my belief that big Sky champion auto bid is the way to go. I just don't trust the people making these decisions!
  23. I know there was some discussion earlier about hockey games being a positive or negative effect on football attendance. I think today proves hockey games are good for football. Without hockey in town, you've probably got a basic grand forks crowd. If hockey is at home, you've probably got a few thousand people from out of town coming for that, and some of those people are going to trickle over to the alerus.
  24. Yes, but why would we risk it when we've got 3 rb's and a fb? I am disappointed with how much we ran Studs, even though he typically does excel in that style. Even worse, he keeps running with the backup qb. Whaddya do when he gets injured?
  25. I know it was reported in the game day thread, but 8,699 today IIRC. I thought there was plenty of hype. Hockey night appear to make a positive difference. Hoping to tip the 10,000 scale once again in 2 weeks.
