Completely agree and hockey is a tough game, meaning it’s a late bloomer sport. You can always backfill with overagers to be competitive. But I’ve seen the landscape change over the past 5-7 years. I was fairly confident the Big10 would beef up extremely quick…and they have. From a recruiting perspective. Just something to consider when blue chips commit. Currently it looks like we have 1-2 of them (emery and Boisvert).

Worried about this too. We wouldn’t be able to compete with the big schools. Especially with the transfer rules the way they are…perfect storm to lose commits and players. Not sure I like where all this is going.

Simpson. Moore is huge too…5 star. But he has to be Lea big towards one of the Michigan schools.

That list is only from the initial Schloss listing. There’s a ton of high enders missing from that list. But….I love the guys we’ve gotten so far.

That’s how impactful a coaching hire can be.

Agreed. Unsigned players should be free to play CHL hockey and then go NCAA if they are unsigned. (Especially since those football players are making major money already) But rules are rules no matter how stupid. No idea how he got clearance in the first place.

Last year some things went “off the rails” quickly and the team underachieved significantly. As you noted, hopefully the group gels and they get expected results. Last year they were so unlucky.

Makes sense. Although Notre Dame has always confused me a bit. If I’m an offensive/skill guy…that’s the last place I’d be going. Michigan seems like a logistical destination for them. The one brother is a one and done anyways.

Ryker Lee to Mich State…great commit. Not really a blue chip but I think this kid will be a high end college player. Late bloomer but skill is off the charts. I was hoping we were in on him. Kind of reminds me of Blake.

I doubt we were in on him but Shane Vansaghi committed to Mich State. Benefits of hiring for NTDP coach I assume, they’ve had a very solid recruiting year.
