  1. I completely agree with you, he “could” have played this year. I guess my initial point was this isn’t really a Toews comparison because he is a true junior (10/12/04) this year while Toews played as a true senior (4/29/88) at Und. I get it they are only 5.5/6 months apart…but I’ve never heard of a -2 playing college puck. That would be beyond some shattuck type accelerating
  2. Fantilli was a year younger than Toews…he needs to accelerate to play next season. But…he’s also a really big boy. So he could play this year I’m sure.
  3. His birthdate is 10-12-04…he’s a junior in high school right now and accelerating school to play at mich next year. Not eligible for the draft until 2023.
  4. Agreed…grinder that could have played top 6
  5. You have to look at age a bit too and how they play. I’m a self admitted stats/metrics guy through and through. But ness and portz did it as overagers. You have to trend it a bit. I actually like both ness and portz…but they probably won’t be overly productive until their upperclassman years (at best). Guys like Blake/OM are putting up big number fairly young (especially on the PP), they should be nice by their soph years…hopefully sooner.
  6. Haha that’s right. In all seriousness…fantilli was too young coming into this past year.
  7. Karl isn’t that young right now.
  8. Moldenhauer just announced his schools and Und isn’t one of them…but Michigan is. I don’t think it has anything to do with coaching. It has to do with playing with other studs…and they have a lot of them.
  9. Absolutely should play ushl next year if he wants to extend his playing career. He’s on the bubble now so he should be doing whatever he can to extend this thing out. Play a year in Fargo (not sure how the rights work at this point).
  10. I kind of agree, he started out well and cooled quite a bit but…there were players with much worse years than him that are still on the team. Plus it would be great to have his experience in the lineups. He either was told someone was taking his top six spot (and scholly $) or he wasn’t a great fit in the locker room.
  11. Might be best for him TBH…I don’t really see a spot for him. May be better off playing line 1/top PP and continuing to develop.
  12. Yep, phenomenal talent. Hopefully someone grabs him (assuming he’s done the right things for himself to make up for past behavior).
  13. He’s a stud. 33 in 37 (13 G), +10 as a true frosh…from the point. Absurd
  14. Very interesting…these are the ones we want.
  15. This is hilarious. Morrow is a stud, no question about that. But…he does play wagon wheel hockey…and I love it.
  16. Agreed…we may want James to play another year to be honest. Guessing strinden doesn’t touch the ice next year. Hain and Senden should be nice bottom six players. Blake will slot in top 6 with Gaber.
  17. I get what you/Eades meant…he’s a smaller D man that goes hard. Limited O upside it appears, which this team really needs in the worst way. We’ll have age/experience on our side though which will be a plus.
  18. Ya kind of a laugher…Kunz could be top 6 next year.
  19. Judging by year over year number/trending I would be blown away if he’s remotely close to Stech. At the same age stech was in year 3 in the NHL
  20. Boy…was thinking we’d go in a different direction. Fits the mold I suppose
  21. Very interesting…just don’t see Bubs poaching from Sandy. Limited O upside so I’d pass. He’s really solid defensively though.
  22. A lot of that is pandemic driven
  23. Really curious how we missed on a kid like Adam Ingram. Higher end kid from WPG. That should have been a layup
  24. He’s definitely been on a heater…great to see
