I’m more of a fan with developing our own players…but given the current environment we’re in we kind of need that Berg kid. Plus portz, albrecht, Ness, Montgomery etc…interchangeable 3rd/4th liners. Kids like Kunz, strinden, etc have to play and figure it out. Dividends will be paid during their upperclassmen years.

Is your program about development, winning…maybe both (hopefully)? Yes, BC’s incoming class is nice and appears to be nicer the following year if my memory serves me right…but there are sophomores, juniors etc that need the opportunity to play bigger minutes/better roles. Keeping a guy for that 5th year comes across with a bit of desperation from my angle. Especially considering teams like BC, MN, UM, BU etc recruit well year over year.

He was so iffy in the ushl, I had a strong hunch college would be tough for him

Agreed we aren’t going away. But we will need to change our recruiting strategy. I think we need to go older.

Harvard got crushed with the early signings….LaFerriere too. They have some really nice recruits coming in but they took a hit.

Curious if we could flip Daimon Gardner out of Tri City. Warroad kid. Putting up a nice ushl season currently committed to Clarkson. We used to mop up these areas.

Awesome to see Jaksen Panzer’s last 10 games, he’s on an absolute heater. Definitely needs to play another year but I was getting a bit worried there. Curious if there was some sort of injury. His production will still not look good over the course of the whole year, but these last 10 games is a huge step in the right direction.

Reloading won’t be an option. This team could be good, but they will need to outperform expectations.

His vision is iffy. He’s doesn’t play the same game.

Hopefully I’m wrong, but with the injuries scsu has I would be shocked if they kept it within 2-3. Gophs are going to be way too much.

Great write up…makes me ever more worried about next year Besides the obvious needs…another glaring hole is the lack of upperclassman punch. Besides gaber there’s nothing. Team will be thin next year. There’s will definitely be minutes up for grabs.

Haha I’m completely joking here…but those conversations with Kleven and Frisch had to be hilarious. With previous teams it was always more around if the player is ready or not. I’m guessing this year it was more about staying to help out the program in the short term. If Bubs can find two decent D in the portal and a solid G, we should be a solid team. Young dmen will grow but there will be pain points. Overall, our recruiting/recruit management has to improve by quite a bit. You can’t mess around with a player or two because we don’t have the recruiting depth we used to have. Time to start fixing things. It can’t be these short term solutions. I have zero expectations for next year other than we need to start pulling in some big recruits like we used to and looking towards 24-25.

Agreed. My only concern is that he was always known as a high end offensive defensemen…offensive defensemen that don’t put up points is a bit concerning There’s also an ‘06 dman QBing their PP over Ausmus…also concerning.

Just guarantee Howard he’ll be on a line with OM and Blake the entire year. First PP guaranteed.

Oh yeah way more skilled/dynamic. It’s like watching Sanderson last year. You can watch for like 5-10 minutes and you instantly notice these guys are way better than anyone else on the ice

I think Lane Hutson is my new favorite player. Watching a skilled dman just wheel all over the ice is so refreshing.

Prior to juniors he was really high end actually. Was on the 04 mn blades team that was beyond loaded and he was a really good player on that team. Got looks with NTDP early on too. I honestly think he had some bad injuries and it set him back big time.
