Just a young “futures” type camp
-
I just read somewhere he’s skating. I guess he’s way ahead of the timeline.
-
Weird the post was deleted
-
100% msu actually has a nice class but I agreee and I wasn’t being negative with my 1 comment. At the forefront of all this I just assumed we’d be much more heavily involved with the Canadians for obvious reasons.
-
No he’s already skating and folks have projected he’d maybe be able to play in the WJSS….you take him with open arms everytime.
-
Ryder ritchie to BU….wowzers. Now I know why boisvert went there haha
-
I was talking about the clubs.
-
The ushl and nhl recently came to some sort of agreement, I am uninformed on the specific details but they really need to create the exact same rules as CHL. Max of 3 20 year olds, lower roster size, minimum of 3 16 years olds etc. I may be wrong on that last piece, but I know they have to have like 3 16 or 17 year olds on the roster. Also, the nhl should be paying for draft picks developed too. Otherwise all our US kids will have to play CHL.
-
Bingo…this is 100% accurate. Also, due to the agreement with the nhl, it is very advantageous to develop first round draft picks as they get their “kick back” financially. Winning is awesome for CHL clubs….but developing players is very important too…thus they let their young prospect play.
-
Yep. As more higher end players go the college route just expect to see it more frequently.
-
100%…some of the CHL haven’t wrapped their heads around the number of higher end Americans and Canadians (who would have went AJ/BCHL etc) that will flood into their leagues. The depth of the CHL leagues will be tremendously better. And they’ll still keep all the blue chips….until they’re 18 haha
-
I saw the same thing with this fanbase when Blake left last year. Multiple posters saying he wasn’t ready and that he’d fail, when clearly he was one of the very best players in college (he was the best player I saw last year). we just need to remember this is all new and these CHL guys are diehards for the programs like we are. Soon they’ll realize there are always newer kids coming up and the wins/losses will look the same. Williams will be back next year and then he’ll be more ready to continue his journey up the ladder. They’ll have him another year
-
The higher end guys are trying to go pro as quickly as possibly. This is just another step along the way. Development is critical. I’d say the longest true Canadian blue chips will be around is 1-2 maybe three years. If they don’t accelerate school, I’d say hope for 2.

Formally announced. Nice get
-
agreed….i don’t really think there should be a comparison to zakreski. This would be a nice get.
-
The ushl draft is weird….i believe there’s a thought he won’t be in the ushl next year. Rather the dub. I’m not worried about O’Neil at all. Athletic kid that needs to play a year of juniors. Should go 5-7th rd
-
3rd or 4th would be good to make the team….anything later you play juniors if there’s no obvious spots on the team. The only one of those players maybe cracking the 3rd round is Laurila. I’m not sure Schultz’s year was strong enough. I am high on him for next year though. I think he’ll go, at the earliest, late 4th or most likely 5th. Simpson needs a year in juniors for sure.
-
Let’s go! Go get a big fish
-
MSU will be absolutely juiced next year. i just read….141 CHL to ncaa commits so far. We have 1 (so far).
-
20 and 20? I’ll take the under haha I do hope he hits 30 pts though….not sure he’ll have the O talent around him.
-
That’s aggressive.
-
Well then flip them. If my kid is committed to Michigan and they then add a few CHL studs…you better hope my ears are perked as far as other opportunities. At this point, the gentleman’s agreement from years past is out the door.
-
It was just an example. I used Michigan because they pulled a top flight blue chip this morning and by the sounds of it, they’re not done. Does that mean they’ll win a natty? No. I’m sure other schools were in on the transfers you referred to. UND is a great spot to keep developing and those players know that. They were also told what their role would be, which I’m assuming was driving their decision. Were they high end prospects? No, not at all. But they’ve all worked themselves into being wanted come portal times. Which is exciting if you’re a UND fan. I’d honestly rather bring these guys in than 6-7 rd 18-19 year olds out of juniors.
