2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I’ve always questioned Berg at C as he isn’t very rangy. I realize he’s ok at draws, but when you watch him he’s 100% a shoot first wing. I doubt he plays C after college. I think it really depends on if Omac improves at draws, that’ll give them more options. Side note, curious how Strinden shows up this year. He’s probably done more with less ice time than anyone on the team. -
2024-25 University of North Dakota Hockey Season

I could eat my words but a 1st round center not playing center? I just don’t see that. Wilkie at W too? I do like the lineup though…I’d just move a lot of pieces around -
I have no idea

Agreed, but going back to Fargo would be an interesting option for him considering he just dominated that league, obviously the team shouldn’t be as heavy next season. If he were to come here (and that is a giant if), I’m guessing Hobie or TJ would need a new home. Puts them in a super tough spot. And the just posted numbers this morning. Again highly doubtful we’d entertain at this point.
-
Could we even carry 4? I think I remember it happening before however this is obviously a bit different.
-
That’s the way this should be assessed to be honest. How does it impact Hobie, because Heil could be two years away plus. I honestly don’t think it’s an issue to have both. I’m not entirely sold that Hobie can take the reins yet, but I doubt he wants to be third string. To me they’re two separate types of prospects. Hampton is a mid round NHL draft pick that (I believe) just won USHL goaltender of the year (albeit on a stacked team). Hobie struggled pretty bad in the ushl and went North. He looked ok last year. I’m just not sure you could pass on Hampton if that opportunity presented itself. You’d get him for at least three years.
-
Heil is probably going to have to play next year and at least the year after in the ushl. Until his numbers improve and he’s mastered the USHL. Hampton seems ready right now.

Sorry. Someone must have posted recently (which they did) and I missed the date.

Moore is playing U18 NTDP next year.
-
I doubt he was considering UND, but Will Moore (NTDP) just committed to BC. Giant get
-
Accolades keep coming for Swanson…just named USA Hockey Junior player of the year
-
Honestly more excited what Boisvert is going to do. May have another special one on the way.
-
EP can typically be late to the game in these situations, I’d be beyond shocked if he ends up here. He should have went back to the BCHL before last year. I would assume he’s back there for next season.
-
I was half teasing, I agree ASU would pay the departure fee.
-
I wonder who’s going to pony up the $50k fee
-
Unreal get for the conference
-
I’m actually thinking Strinden could have a solid year if given an offensive role.
-
I would be a bit shocked if Berg out produced this past year. Omac may do a bit better but having Blake on his wing was huge. Perron will make a huge jump next year.
-
Mac Swanson…USHL forward of the year yesterday…player of the year today. Huge accomplishments. Not sure why we aren’t talking about him
-
That there have been good players playing in the MJ? There’s been tons of great players that have played in that league. Many of the Manitoban Dub players played in the MJ before major juniors.
-
That is not even remotely close to the point I was attempting to make
-
Yessir you are absolutely correct. Many people are simply name dropping players who played in that league…tons of players have played in that league but most good players were very young, and played in a better league as they got older. This kid is old…right now. At 15-16 he was playing midget hockey, not juniors. I am too hoping we found a diamond in the rough, but I also have been following this long enough to know who this player “most likely” is. I’m out, I don’t like sounding negative about our commits, but I couldn’t stand watching this convo play out.
-
Yeah, I’m sure they did. It was 38 years ago. Scouting is no perfect science…but the ability to scout via enhanced tech has drastically changed over that time span

Exception…you mean complete outlier
