  1. Good I thought it was just me....if you wait a while then it will work.
  2. So does Hak announce who they are hiring tomorrow??? Man I hope it is Berry (which I assume is roughly 99.99% right now); I really do not want to see any surprises.
  3. Pretty sure everyone can make up their own minds. Because you don't view his you don't need to push your views on anyone else.
  4. Fighting Sioux sounds about right to me.
  5. I have the Devils in 6, but either way the Sioux are represented very well in this year's Cup....great to see!
  6. Actually many people go to college to get jobs....and UND has a great placement rate and very good professional colleges and a great business college. Believe me the school side of things would be fine. NO way we would ever lose hockey anyways, which brings in almost all the revenue.
  7. I figured you were going to respond quick.
  8. Agreed. I was just wondering what he did that was bad enough to get the boot. Either way, most of us have caused some trouble and subsequently grew up.
  9. Well if you vote to get rid of the name....you are simply doing so to help the sports department.....not the university. The nickname and logo simply hurt the sports department...not the university. Believe me, the university will still be a great school no matter the the logo or nickname is and no matter which sports we have (although hockey would be tough to lose as it brings in so much revenue to the school, but that is beside my point).
  10. Well, you made my point in your response. If any 16 year old gets kicked off a team...I'm guessing he caused a little trouble. At least that's what I'll believe until I hear otherwise. You don't simply get kicked off a prestigous team for no reason now.
  11. Yeah, definitely a good thing, depending on the severity of the injury. All in all, I would say he gets to see what he is really worth.
  12. Good point. Yes, the NHL pretty much funds the CHL. Long story short (although many college die hards who only watch college hockey may disagree) a large portion of the top prospects play in the CHL. Due to the recent US success in international tournaments and due to the NTDP players focusing strictly on hockey year round, at a very high level, we are now producing players that are becoming good at a young age, and thus, are being recruited by the CHL. This really isn't all that new as many US kids have gone to the CHL in the past. We are simply noticing it more now because of college hockey's rise in popularity over the past 12 years or so and due to the US getting much better at hockey over that same period. College hockey started retaining great US players where in the past they would bounce up north. But regarding Biggs, if you don't kill it in college hockey being that highly touted, I doubt he will ever be that great in the NHL (if he gets there). He reminds be of that Canadian Gopher player that played when Pots was on the team....forgot his name.
  13. From what I read the kid sounds like a trouble-maker....Hak won't put up with that.
  14. I get it. Not enough to ever get me to change my mind on the nickname or logo...but enough for me to back out of the conversation. Someone obviosuly dropped the ball (more than one time). I guess I am speaking on the overall reasoning of taking the name away...nothing to do with sanctions or anything. Simply based on what is right and what is wrong and who will be offended, etc. If we missed a deadline (or two or three deadlines) so be it, we may have to get rid of the nickname.
  15. I would really like you to explain further....I have been following him here in the Cities and from what a buddy tells me he is a lock to go to the Sioux....at least as of a week ago.
  16. I really would like to see Grimaldi on that top line with Knight and Kristo, I wouldn't mess with that second line at all after how well they gelled together last year..
  17. Decent article. One thing though, say they vote to keep the nickname and the NCAA try to get involved, I thought the Universtiy could turn around and sue the NCAA on prejudice because we got the vote? All in all, this is simply stupid because the Natives are the one's getting this ballot going. Again, at a high level, what is really going on when the Native's are the people getting this going. I guess I really just do not see it. Again my vote will not count so I will try to refrain from posting on this thread again.....just wanted some info. Thanks!
  18. Yeah, reading many of the posts on here actually gets me thinking a little. I really wish we could have the best of both worlds, but the NCAA will not let that happen. It's just unfortunate. Other teams can use native nicknames and we can't (please don't blast me for posting that), plain and simple. We were late on filing some paperwork I guess, now we're screwed. Still, at a high level, it doesn't make sense. At a low level (filing level, deadline level, etc) I guess it does. We'll have to see what happens. I don't think I could vote anyway so my vote won't count :o)
  19. Get well Matty....you have a bright future ahead of you!
  20. You "regulars" need to also be classy with your posts. You obviously do not approve of the nickname as you feel it will hurt the football teams chances of playing in the Big Sky. There are others of us who would like to keep the nickname for pride and historical purposes and to not simply give up because liberal radicals tell us we are somehow racist. We have our views (and are posting them) and you guys have yours (and are posting them). Remember we are all Sioux (or UND) fans so please relax and try to stay classy.
  21. I really like Karl's response.
  22. don't think so...only the wcha operates with a conflict of interest so openly.
  23. Anyone know why Caggiula only played 4 USHL games last year and went back to the OJHL?
  24. I really like these incoming freshman. I think Sanderson will be a solid role player, along with Caggiula (although I think this guy could end being real nice too). Bryn has an awesome shot and I could see him being a top 6 forward at some point if he plays with a playmaker. Schmaltz will be awesome, same with Gothberg. I heard Saunders is all right so I'll stay up on him until I see otherwise. Just curious why he ended up at Alabama and not anywhere else, don't know all that much about him other than he got absolutely peppered last year.
