Pre- tournament.....St. Louis should have made it over Kunitz, Sharp, Carter and Nash. There may be others I just can't think of them. St. Louis has 61 pts in 63 games and is +11 all while not having anyone to play with for a majority of the year and keeping his (former) team in the playoff chase. Guy should get a medal. On a side note, where are all the Crosby haters...he had his worst NHL game last night. I bet Goon is gearing up for some trash talk on his blog as I type this

Yeah, one of those recruits is Snuggaard (sp?).....he's top 2 in the metro. I saw EP play and he is very very good.

After doing a little research it appears UNO has a real nice crop of freshman coming in next year....big point totals in the USHL. The are also getting two top MN high school players as well. Besides Walters are they losing any other key players? They could be really good next year. I would predict us and them having some significant battles next year.

Last night the Orono croud was cheering "Daddy's richer"...I had a little laugh. Couldn't believe it. I'm guessing I could have misunderstood them but my buddy also thought that is what they were saying. It was pretty loud.

It would be hard to find anyone to argue against you regarding Toews. Pertaining to your Crosby comment, the Bruins are a good team and they pretty much mimicked Philly's plan for Crosby....get under his skin. So far it is proven that Crosby can get rattled in the playoffs and once you get under his skin he has a hard time calming himself down. I think that is his one and only weakness to this point in his career. All the other negative stuff you guys mention are pretty minor in my book....if he wasn't so good you guys wouldn't even care.

Yup, agreed. I just think there is some bias to this witch hunt. In my time here on this forum I have caught on that there is a certain group of Bruin fans, Redwing fans, etc. Not too many Penguins fans other than Dave. I am a Blackhawks fan but I do enjoy watching the Penguins play...their PP is ridiculous. That being said, it is easy to point out certain (minor) flaws in a player that plays for a team you don't like....especially the best player on planet Earth. I don't mind the Bruins, they play a great D game and have one of my other favorite players (Bergeron) however they can get dirty at times. That is ok too as there will always be dirty teams (there always has been). When it comes playoff time you do what you have to do to win....I can understand that completely. That's why I don't have a huge knock on the Bruins....every team has their strengths.

I agree with that....there will always be players trying to draw penalties as long as there is hockey. Complaining too much for "no calls" shows little class. I like Crosby a lot (so do tons of his fellow Canadians....Toews, Bergeron, Staals, etc) however to say Crosby doesn't ever complain is a lie. He'll whine a little to the refs. However if you ask any player in the league if they would like to play with Crosby...they would say yes without having to think about it. That would inlcude the same players I just mentioned.

I'm tentative....I have a lot of buddies down that weekend but will try to make it.

There are tons of players in the league that are great at drawing penalties....Crosby just happens to be the best player in the league and he is great at drawing penalties. I mean, he learned from the best....Lemieux was one of the best players in the league at drawing penalties during his time.

I understand not too many people like Crosby on this site however you cannot ignore his talent on the ice nor his production every year (on average). I do have Toews as my #2 overall player in the league due to his achievements. Crosby and Toews are by far my two favorite players in no particular order.

Mabe I will come this year. I know someone was getting a skate together last year, hopefully someone decides to get that going again.

Agreed....it seems to me WMU is streaky where they end up winning some games they probably shouldn't and losing games against some bottom feeders. Again, the schedule in the NCHC is so tough it can be mentally draining. There are no cupcakes. Even Miami has one of the better college players in the entire country who can take over a game.
