  1. Yes. They shouldn't be, the big ten conference (as a whole) is ranked way too high due to MN being so good this year. OSU has beat UMD and Wisconsin...that's it. Their schedule is a joke. They have no decent players.
  2. Thanks! I didn't even see that it wasn't linked. I put it in here with my iPhone.
  3. This guy has been our bad luck charm....for real.
  4. Exactly, except there is no way Ohio State and Penn State are even close to Mankato State. Even MSU has been bad for quite awhile, they have really struggled in recent years. Arguably there are only 3 solid teams with only one being a top notch hockey school in Minnesota (Mich won too many chips in the 50's).
  5. I had no idea where to put this but I thought it was an interesting article. www.sportsnet.ca/olympics/why-isnt-canada-more-dominant-in-hockey/
  6. Since being snubbed....Giroux 17 pts, St. Louis 16 pts.
  7. St. Louis is awesome but to say he is a MUCH better pick than Giroux is absurd. Had Giroux not been in bad graces with Hockey Canada he would already be on the team. Either way Giroux was not gettting on that team. That was his penalty for skipping out on their summer orientation.
  8. Oh I see, they will probably see what's going on with Gersich first.
  9. How many spots are open? The only one's I can see are Mitch Mac and Rodwell's and potentially N. Schmaltz's if he decommits. No one else is going anywhere except Rocco and that's a gigantic maybe as he has not been the player many of us thought he was going to be. By that, I mean putting up video game numbers. Don't get me wrong though, Rocco is my favorite player on the team I simply think he has not scored the way I initially thought he would.
  10. Completely agree....Olson is a lock to come he is a solid player. I honestly think Schmaltz will stay to dominate next year but then he is gone. Gersich will be here if he can finish school and Poolman is in the Ladue mold. He is have such a good USHL season this year.
  11. Right because MN only looks for the top 6 forward type of kids. I'm not sure what type of player Yon will be at the college level however I am guessing he may be a 4 year 2/3/4th line players....which is by no means a bad thing. His numbers in weaker HS conference are through the roof however it appears he has not had the same success in the Elite leagues (given he is older). Either way I'm happy with this recruit as he will be a 4 year player, hopefully he has a good USHL year next year. Edit After looking Archibald didn't avg a pt/gm either in the Elite league.
  12. I mentioned it awhile back however no one responded. He is not committed however I am starting to wonder if his numbers are inflated based on the line he is on.
  13. Nice! I've seen him play, he's real good HS player. Needs to play in the USHL though.
  14. Not a single UND player on the leaderboard @ USHO.com....kind of depressing. Jonny Hockey has more goals than Rocco has pts
  15. The Wild will not give up anything for him this year....he'll simply replace Heatley's expiring contract next year. However I might dangle Zucker and some other young forwards and see if the Islanders bite. Either way those guys won't have a top 6 spot on next year's team if Vanek actually ends up in Minny.
  16. Add BC to that list, they look better than UMN
  17. Very true....but I too want the goofs round one.
  18. Not sure I agree with you on the second statement...the chance of a skater hitting the net vs a goalie accidentally hitting the net is not even close (probably x100 or more). If you are talking about the MN game last weekend I really don't think Wilcox tried to kick the net off. On the flip side I do think the MSU guy deserves another shot. I would change your second statement to include a redo and if the goalie kicks the net off again then it's a goal.
  19. The scary thing about the goofs is they simply do not lose. The past few weeks I have watched them and they don't look too much better than their opponents. A couple things I have noticed is their tendy is legit, they roll 4 lines with the best of them and they are probably the best in the country at blocking shots. I think this may be a down year for them offensivly. I haven't seen them dominate too many games and they are scoring more gritty goals than flashy ones. Again, they are extremely good at finding ways not to lose, even when they are not playing the best.
  20. Yup, we'll need another couple upsets tonight.
  21. Haha, I see. Parise's a legend.
