USA junior hockey player of the year. He would have had USHL defenseman and potentially USHL player of the year had it not been for Montour. You are correct that for many players there is a learning curve, and I do think there was a small one for Poolman. However, the fact he sat one game was a complete shock to me. I expected him to play a very big role for us this year from day 1. I am actually more shocked he doesn't have one dime yet. This weekend I'm sure

I like how we're playing when the boy's are motivated. They definitely look like a #2 seed. I know Eaves said otherwise, however, I think the worst thing going for the Badgers is that they just had a two week layoff after losing 4 straight to some pretty average teams. Additionally, they are a very young team (from the standpoint that they lost everyone from last year). If the Badgers win one it means we didn't work hard.

I saw him make a few nice passes too, one should have been a goal. He is that "tweener" kind of guy at this level. he cannot play bottom 6 due to him not having a great motor and lacking serious grit but he does seem to have some offensive ability. Again, I'm not sure on him however as long as we're winning he may not be a bad idea to give him an extended tryout while Mac is out. It seems the other potential candidates for a top 6 role all have a better motor than he does so they are better suited in the bottom 6. Additionally, anyone think that Simonson-Chyz-Poganski line looked much more lethal than our third line last night? I did. I think some of those Soph/Frosh guys need to move up in place of a Pattyn/OD/Gaard. Just a thought.

Simonson does not come out of the lineup. He's better than St. Clair, hands down. I think Murphy was getting a tryout to see if he could play a top six role. I honestly don't think he played bad. He obviously didn't look as good as Parks on that line but that should be obvious. Bryn stays in the lineup obviously. Although he works hard he is more of a skill guy to me. He was a top 6 player in junior and is showing us that he'll probably be there by the end of the season or next year. I think some people need to realize Murphy hasn't played much hockey recently. He may take awhile to round into form. I'm sure Hak doesn't want to write the kid off this early in his career, we need him for the next 2 years. Did you include Panz?!?

This team shocks me over and over again. This Air Force goalie has a 3+ gaa and an 88 sv % on the year. We're going to help him out a bit.

I also think Keaton will be a better player than Stetcher in the long wrong, if I have mentioned several times, however Stetch is playing really good hockey right now. I don't see him coming out.

I think that the only way Murph is successful is if he's on a scoring line. You put a guy like that in the bottom 6 and he is useless. He doesn't seem to have the energy/grit to play bottom 6.

I'm confused how Keaton is the odd man odd.

He's canadian....Hak loves those guys. I think I'm starting to figure this out. However, he is more offensively gifted.
