  1. Great post. Also, I didn’t realize Ausmus was going to the BCHL. Such a great decision for him. Game up there is a bit more wagon wheel…less heavy. Hopefully he finds his O game again. If I were advising him, I’d have him play 1-2 more year of juniors. Undrafted…he should just age out. It’ll help him and the team.
  2. Nice get! Really hoping we’re not out on Hensler though.
  3. Tucker poolman was an unreal athletes trending the right way at the right time. Singleton was a super good youth player. Good players have come out of the AJ, but it isn’t all that good of a league at all. They’ve all been good players staying close to home. Not being able to make a USHL team and getting cut by BCHL team is a colossal red flag. But…he’s not that old. I’m thinking he’ll end of at a smaller school out east.
  4. You’d make room for both of them. Push others back.
  5. No idea how he could still be a commit. He got dropped from both the USHL and BCHL. I don’t see how a player is cut from two separate Junior A league and has a spot at a program lines ours. Unless there was some sort of issue behind the scenes. edit- his Instagram profile still has him as a ND commit. Again, I’d be shocked if he makes it to campus.
  6. Coach at Vermont is out…Bump available?
  7. Solid list. Hopefully we get some of those local boys. I think we may be the favorite for Hensler. That would be a huge get.
  8. Schmaltz was on the ‘16 team too. The fact we didn’t win a natty wasn’t an issue with the players during the 2000s, nor was it a Hak issue. Those teams were loaded. It’s a one and done tourney..you need a very good team and a decent amount of luck.
  9. There are more US born first rounders now than ever, at least higher end first rounders. Canada has always dominated the first round. I may have missed the point here however.
  10. Bingo. I am excited about the upcoming year…although I am every year
  11. It’s a reasonable want. Not sure we’ll ever be able to recruit how we did in the mid to late 2000s (those years were fun). But again, it’s a reasonable want. I always have to say this on this board, I do like some of the recruits we have coming in I do.
  12. Assuming he has a big second USHL season…I’d say a mid first to late second range
  13. Probably one of his only offers at that time. I doubt we were in on him when he verballed to WMU. Now gentleman’s agreement comes into play.
  14. Tough to get drafted in yr 2 and 3. I mean, Luke Mittelstadt went in the 7th.
  15. Zero…that’s why he went to the ushl he’s taking slow approach.
  16. Will Felicio to Denver, great pickup for them. Not 100% if we were in on him but I was hoping we were
  17. So confused by this one…he played 14 KHL games. How in the world is he eligible?
  18. The only way UND will stay relevant with the big programs is to keep pace with the NIL. Plain and simple. Unless the shift their recruiting practice to only focus on overagers (think kato). Other all blue chips (and that next tier) will be heading to the Big 10.
  19. Strathmann will go in the 2nd-3rd rd and his a much higher end prospect. Littler is intriguing though. Dad is a hockey guy and gets it…he’s a very late rd draft pick and there is zero hurry to climb the ladder. I mean he’s going to be playing junior hockey still 2 years after his draft year. Take the slow route and it will pay dividends. He could very well be a nice player for us.
  20. When watching both of them, Power definitely has the edge offensively, a bit more skill. But…Hensler is the one we want. Definitely.
  21. Just UND…but he has another year at the Program so we’ll need to cross our fingers. They aren’t too keen on Nodak and could push a big ten school.
  22. Hensler follows UND and Brad specifically
  23. I think you’d have better odds at the powerball
