Schultz is really good. But way more mature than many kids his age. Time will tell. I like to wait until 16 to see if they can play when everyone’s mature. But this kid is pretty dang good.

Each year that passes is a longer “data set” I suppose you could say. The regular season track record has been great…our post season track record on the other hand has been dismal to say the least. Really really average for anyone, let alone a program of our caliber. I’m with you, I see the success in winning %, regular season titles, etc. But come playoff time we’re not good. 2016 is starting to become a distant memory (I was there fun times!). A lot has happened since then . Hopefully you don’t owe those meals

Decent post. I really like our coaching group right now. I also understand how challenges in recruiting have changed a bit. But in saying that…boy have we been pretty avg for a while now. Part of it was that we were spoiled with Hak and Blais won a couple Nattys (he also pulled us out of the gutter). What will it take? No idea…Brad is an awesome guy, but I’d guess a few more years like the one we’re seeing now. Hopefully they’re able to turn things around, our current recruiting class for next year is really avg right now from an optics standpoint. They’ll need to dig into that CHL pool here soon.

While I don’t believe that number is zero, I doubt he had a huge influence on the snub. It’s interesting that a heavy nchc coaching staff (for two years straight now) hasn’t taken one UND player. Definitely makes you start questioning the process. Was Sanderson/Kleven the last UND players to play in the WJC?

Denver has a very good recruiting network out there. Not just with the blue chips, but also with the over agers/role players. Nobody has gotten more out of their players than Carle. If he isn’t the best out there….he’s 2-3. I think that’s just a fact. He’s been on an incredible run…hopefully he cools off here soon :). Also, coaching the WJC also helps with recruiting.

Don’t get me wrong…this forum is full of “burn it down” crazies. I am not one of them. My point was fairly simplistic I guess. We had a tough start, mostly due to a tough opening schedule and some key injuries. We circled back and have been on a decent stretch, mostly due to the sub par teams we’ve had the luxury to play. I’m still curious how good this team really is, time will tell I suppose. As far as the burn it down folks go, I think they need to come to a very realization that the recruiting landscape has been changing for a while now and will continue to change heavily as we move forward. It’s not as easy as it used to be…and I’m saying that right after coming off a great recruiting year (I.e. two first rounders and the ushl player of the year). Recruiting will be key moving forward. The one thing I will say is that we’ll need to favor well against the other teams that aren’t pulling first rounders annually.

Omaha and UMD are both awful this year too. Our bottom is a very real bottom this year. No where near as deep as this conference used to be.

I get it…and agree. But, if we’re to be as unbiased (as possible). We’re still in deep doo doo this season, nothing has changed there. Also, besides cloud we’ve played some of the worst rated teams in the country recently. again, not trying to be a Debbie downer after the team had a great weekend. But we are no where near out of the storm yet. The boys will have to go on a fairly significant run here. Let’s hope they do

It’s weird because he looks the part. Big, can skate, attempts fairly skilled plays. But absolutely nothing translates. I’m assuming he doesn’t “see it” very well. NCHC isn’t AH.

Add the Gophs to list of teams in on Misa. I originally heard a rumor we may be in on McKenna…that was a long time ago and now I’m only hearing about Michigan from all the top sources. My guess is we’ll only be in on the over agers…not the blue chips.
