They shouldn't have had free rush...there were 2 defensemen and a backchecking forward.

The Sioux gave them space...a little too conservative if you ask me. I looked...it was about 15 ft. That's how we play in men's league. Big time atheletes are aggresive and don't give you an inch. The Sioux played so well defensively last night....that 10-12 seconds was the only let down I saw personally.

JG averaged a pt/gm as a 135 lb freshman...that's crazy.

I agree with everything you noted. I'm guessing when Rocco came here he was thinking he would play with some gifted players. We need him to have some patience. Next year could be a huge year for him if he stays (and hopefully Hak beefs up his line).

Completely disagree. There were others back...we had a forward trailing. Every was just kind of watching Rau. If Schmaltz steps up.....Rau dumps the puck. He gave him room so he skated it in...because our boys gave him 15 ft or so. Again, as soon as Schmaltz steps up (like our D were doing all night) the PKer dumps the puck in. Also you note he "got back".....he was already back. When I was calling for a pinch I meant on the wall, before MN entered the zone....when Rau first got the puck. The could have played the "Eiffel Tower" and we were set. I get it though, you never think that is actually going to be the outcome when you are on the PP....most likely they simply dump it in and change. End of rant, looking forward to next year.

One thing....we were on the man advantage. Screw the .6 thing....we were on a PP. They should have been dumping the puck....we got lazy/too conservative at a time when you can never let your guard down....and we paid for it...in the worst way possible.

On a side note....I think Hak's game plan worked well last night. Keep the puck on the wall and slow the pace down. I am biased but I thought we had the advantage....only slightly. That was a tough game....the ending was unfortunate. Better luck next year!

Schmaltz should have pinched before Rau even hit the blue line...he was the best player on the ice all night long, one mistake ended up being a pretty big one.

Absolutely speechless....I keep running that play through my head. Schmaltz pinches and we go to ot....not sure what he was thinking, I think he thought the cook would run down quicker
