That is a HUGE assumption on your part. How the heck do you possibly know what college hockey teams talk trash during the handshake? You WANT to believe there's a valid reason your players act like pyschos so you can defend their actions.

No I believe Blood and Finley started these fights because of something that transpired during the game. They're a couple of babies who attack players during a handshake line when they're the most vulnerable. You guys complain about Gopher players chirping and then hiding behind the refs and how classless it is but yet you defend your own players for starting fights during a handshake. It does not get any more classless than that with the possible exception of a head coach flipping off a ref from the bench but that would never happen.......oh wait.

Well I've never seen a Gopher player intentionally start a brawl during the handshake line but I've seen 2 UND players do it fairly recently so you really can't talk about class.

No they didn't. It was a tie in our record and MSU's. They simply were rewarded an extra point.

The broadcast itself was fine but the play by play guy was horrible. He barely spoke it was weird.

9 Gophers, 12 Minnesotans overall on the roster plus the head coach so yes Minnesota hockey fans certainly have a lot of pride when it comes to that team.

We can play that game all day. For instance, had half our team not left in 1980 for the Olympics than we would have 6 and UND would have 6.

Sure but odds are the teams won't face each other. Didn't we go 26 years in-between NCAA tourney match-ups from 1979-2005?

The Gophers and Michigan will play 4 times per year plus probable meetings in the Big ten tourney. By the time 2016-17 rolls around we're talking about 12-15 games between those two schools while the Gophers and UND will not play at all during that same time period. You tell me who the Gopher players at that time would say is a bigger rivalry for them. A conference foe who they battle with 4 times a year or a non-conference opponent who they haven't played in years?

I agree, going forward Miami/UND will be bigger than UND/Gophers will be. Like I said the rivalry between our 2 schools is over.

The rivalry is over plain and simple. By the time this series resumes in 2016-17 Michigan will have become a MUCH bigger rival to the Gophers than UND will ever be again.
