  1. He has a very long and easy stride so it may give the impression he's not trying hard but the opposite is true.
  2. I'm curious, what jerseys are the Gophers wearing? Block M on the front or the ones that say Gophers diagnally?
  3. Gopher hockey is the third most popular sport on campus behind football and basketball without question.
  4. If that hit wasn't worthy of a 5 then no hit is. It was vicious. And to put some blame on the player getting hit is ridiculous.
  5. I was never comparing UND's attendance numbers to OSU's. Just stating that those attendance numbers MafiaMan posted are very good for a college hockey game, well above average. Those numbers will only go higher now that they are associated with a conference that those fans can relate to and will actually recognize the names of their opponents.
  6. Those are good attendance numbers for a regular season college hockey game and you know it. It's stupid to compare it to the size of their arena and you know that as well. BTW, scpa0305 is seriously delusional abut the Big Ten. A dying conference? It's never been stronger financially than it is now.
  7. January 2013 Forbes article. http://www.cbssports...ence-sec-fourth From the article- "The Big Ten is No. 1 with revenues of $310 million -- $250 million of that coming from TV. The Pacific 12 Conference is second at $303 million and the Atlantic Coast Conference third at $293 million. The SEC had revenues of $270 million."
  8. I have no idea what would happen at that point, I guess the conference wouldn't exist and we would come knocking on the NCHC's door to let us join.
  9. Crazy statement right there. The Ohio State fanbase couldn't relate to college hockey because they were in the CCHA playing schools that they've either never heard of or cared about. They got big crowds against Michigan and that's it. It's a Big Ten school and now their hockey program fits in with their other sports on campus.
  10. I didn't mean that UW played well in that game specifically. Just meant that before and after that game UW was playing good hockey. When you look at their record since December they are one of the best teams in the nation. I still can't believe they lost to Penn State but its a good indication that PSU isn't nearly as bad as people think.
  11. Ohio State is a sleeping giant and moving to the Big Ten will help that program a LOT and they have a very good coach and a great arena. You dont think they will recruit better players now that they're in the Big Ten instead of the CCHA? Penn State is not nearly as far behind as you think they are. They won at Wisconsin when UW was playing very well, they also won at Michigan State and beat Ohio State. Just like everyone else you are being short sighted.
  12. I've disagreed with Gopher hockey fans about this since it started and I believe they are being very short sighted. The idea that the Big Ten will be a bad hockey conference is obsurd. It has 3 of the very best programs of all time, not even the NCHC can say that. It has the most NCAA titles of all time. The NCHC will be deeper yes with 8 teams but the Big Ten will be a VERY good hockey conference year in year out.
  13. IF the Big Ten was seen as a power conference? I know you guys hate the Big Ten because of the whole hockey thing now but you're all delusional when it comes to the power and prestige of the conference. Yeah I'm sure Minnesota hockey will become obscure because we stopped playing the Omaha's, Bemidji's, and Anchorage's of the world and started playing Michigan, Ohio State, and Michigan State.
  14. The Big Ten network has made the conference richer and more powerful than any other conference. Im not just talking about on field performance.
  15. The idea that the Big Ten, which btw is the most famous and powerful collegiate conference in the nation, will be more obscure than the WCHA is crazy. No one outside of college hockey circles have even heard of the WCHA.
  16. No matter who the team is, beating them 4 in a row is tough to do.
  17. This is hardly exclusive to the Gopher fanbase.
  18. It's called opinion. And last time I checked that's not your jersey anymore and never will be again.
  19. So I was wrong about Michigan having an M on their jersey in 1941, big deal. I was replying to a post that said the U copied Michigan. The M's don't even resemble each other and it doesn't change the fact that the Gophers have the best logo on the front of their jerseys in all of hockey.
  20. And your fanbase as well.
  21. We've had the M since the 1970's, a couple decades before Michigan had them. Actually I think Michigan added the M to their jerseys maybe in the late 80's. But certainly long after the U.
  22. I'm well aware of everything you just typed so Im not sure why you think you're educating me. Snake said the U only represents the Twin Cities which is incorrect plain and simple.
  23. No he's not. I realize technically it's called the twin cities campus. Nevermind you guys simply don't understand and I wont argue with stupid.
  24. Wrong. Its the University of Minnesota, nice try though. It represents the entire state. The University of Alabama doesn't just represent Tuscaloosa. UW doesn't just represent Madison.
