As long as the new coach is hired and brought in in a timely matter I don't think we'll see a huge amount of defections. Whoever is hired will hopefully be able to convince the young guys to stick around. If the coaching search stretches into January that's when I think we could start seeing some guys jump ship. Regarding Carr specifically, I think he's a smart enough kid to realize he has a good chance to step right into Hardin's shoes and be that burner on the outside for four years.

Our best bet is for Nash to be effective guarding Dekker. Dekker has some weight on Nash but hopefully Jaron's athleticism allows him to make some plays. We also need our rotation of big guys to work their asses off boxing out their 7 footer. Huff is going to be the X-factor as Wisco goes primarily with 3 guards and if Dekker is matched up on Nash Troy should be able to make some things happen offensively against a smaller defender.

Current salary. If Pelini gets the boot he'd likely be looking at a step down of some kind no matter where he goes. I'm guessing Nebraska paid Bohl quite a bit more than he accepted from NDSU right off the bat.

Almost nobody goes in to Madison and comes away with a win so if we somehow pull this one out it would put us on the map. I think this game will be a good barometer for how the non-conference portion of the season is going to go. If Wisconsin runs us out of the gym we may be looking at a 2 or 3 win non-conference. If we stay competitive then I'd be more comfortable betting on us to pull of a few road wins before we get into Big Sky play. If we beat them on their floor then it may be the beginning of a truly special run for this team. I'm excited for this game tonight and hope it gives us some confidence and momentum coming back for the game against NDSU.

If we want to stick with the Nebraska connection I hear Carl Pelini might be looking for work.....

If D1 experience is indeed a must for whoever Faison hires then I'd keep an eye on the staffs at USC, Texas, Florida, Nebraska, and any other major D1 program who may be making a coaching change. Staff turnover at those schools would put a lot of D1 coaching talent on the market.

Likely has to do with speculation that Pelini might not last past this season. That's a major D1 program that would likely put a lot of guys with D1 experience out of work. I think it's just a coincidence that it's the same school that NDSU raided when Solich was on his way out. The Barney Cotton connection is interesting as I did not realize he and Faison were at NMSU at the same time. He has NCC ties from his time at St Cloud and has a lot of experience as an FBS level offensive coordinator and offensive line coach. If Pelini gets the ax then I think Cotton may have rocketed up to the top of my list.

According to the guys reporting on their meetings with Faison today there will be a coached hired sometime in December. I got the feeling by the tone of some tweets that Faison would like to make the hire sooner but University hiring requirements state that the job must be publicly posted for a set amount of time. Hopefully Faison has a plan and a hire is made very shortly after that required amount of time has passed.

I don't believe they're required to honor the commitment as he hasn't signed a letter of intent but I believe in football they are generally honored. It's more of an issue in basketball where there are far fewer scholarships available. I specifically remember a few guys having their offers pulled when Tubby took over at Minnesota.

Wayne Nelson tweeted a picture of Muss leaving the field tonight. His head was buried in his hand. I think he's done and I think he knows it. I know Faison makes every trip with the football team but the fact that Kelly made the trip also makes me hope that there was a lot of discussion about what needs to be done on Monday.

Aaron Rodgers, RG3, Tony Romo are all 6'2" and Andrew Luck and Tom Brady are both 6'4"

Not arguing that. Just something that's always bothered me.

Marketing and sales certainly did a good job promoting this season but it's difficult to sell tickets when the team is in the toilet regardless of marketing tactics.
-
I've never understood why sacks count against rushing yards and not passing yards. Seems to me that a sack should count against a team's passing yards but not the qb's individual passing yards.
-
Muss still has to go. The past two years I've been very excited going into the season. If Muss is back next year I can't imagine I'll be anywhere near as optimistic as I have been in the past.

My 4 season ticket seats were empty

Glad they were able to pull that out for the seniors. Well done guys.

Lot of time left. Let's see if the defense can show us something here.

It's 4 straight Big Ten games and it was 1974

We're gonna lose by 3 touchdowns to a 1-8 team and I'm not even all that surprised. Thanks Muss.

How's the home side? Are we gonna set an Alerus Center record for lowest attendance?

I really like how hard Golloday is playing. Giving a ton of effort blocking down the field. We've got a special one in #19.

Just caught my first glimpse of the crowd on the student side. Ouch.

#21 Chris Brown gave an embarrassing effort on that play. He had a chance to make a play about 5 yards short of the 1st down but he tiptoed around and didn't even end up getting a hand on him. If he plays that aggressively he can make a tackle but he just looked scared and timid. Tough to watch.
