  1. Figured I get this thread started up for the women, who look to forget a long season last year. Confirmed dates on schedule so far 12/28 @ Iowa 1/16 Montana 1/18 Montana State 1/30 EWU 2/1 PSU 2/13 @ Montana State 2/15 @ Montana 2/27 @ PSU 3/1 @ EWU
  2. New Offer: 6'2 Guard Wheeler Baker from Osseo, MN. Same school where Anderson came from and also same conference as where Hooker (Park Center) is. Both Hooker and Baker had some good head to head matchups this last year.
  3. He hasn't redshirted yet so he would have 2 (I checked the UMKC player profile). Definitely was UMKC best player. This would be nice get for Jones if he can land him. He and Hooker can have some fun terrorizing the sky for 2 years.
  4. Buy to both. Nash's issues were with the NCAA transfer rules and he should be okay. I am hoping Traylor has his stuff taken care of academically and I wouldn't think he would repeat his actions I feel this one will be at the REA, so sell on a sellout. However, because I feel both teams will be playing well and expectations will be high for both teams, it should be higher than the 7000 that were here when the two teams squared off in the 2011-2012 season. Im thinking around 8000 to as many as 9500. Buy or Sell: Jamal Webb will lead the Big Sky in steals AND will be top 25 in the nation in steals Buy or Sell: We play USD this year Buy or Sell: Average attendance at the Betty will be 2000
  5. Instead of doing an over/under thread like last year, it will be a buy or sell thread for some offseason fun. Buy or Sell: Quinton Hooker playing as a true Freshman Buy or Sell: UND goes to the NCAAs Buy or Sell: Troy Huff winning Big Sky Player of the Year
  6. http://www.undsports.com/SportSelect.dbml?&DB_OEM_ID=13500&SPID=6403&SPSID=58671 Schedule is out
  7. Happy that the Big Sky will have the members to start up men's golf good move to split to divisions on volleyball. Would be interesting to see how they would split it up. Lessen the travel costs. Im 50-50 on non-divisions on basketball. Loved the addition of the 6th man awards and freshman of the year For those who are not aware of the Pac-12 scheduling model, it goes like this. You are guaranteed to play your natural rival in a home and home. (So for us, UNC). Then you get 6 games of home and home, and then the other 4 are just 1 game for a total of 18. Then after 2 years, it rotates Wondering if this will mean now that with 12 members, do they stay with 7 getting into the VB,MBB, WBB tourneys or do they go up to 8?
  8. Most teams in our conference have put out their schedules, so we now have a rough idea on what our schedule will look like conference wise for next year 9/20 @ MONT ST 9/21 @ MONT 9/26 Weber 9/28 Idaho State 10/3 @ NAU 10/5 @ Sac State 10/7 @ UNC 10/10 EWU 10/12 PSU 10/17 @ SUU 10/24 MONT 10/26 MONT ST 10/31 @ Idaho State 11/2 @ Weber 11/8 UNC 11/9 PSU 11/11 NAU 11/14 @ PSU 11/16 @ EWU 11/23 SUU
  9. For me, I hope that is it a drop down (transfer from another D-1 school) that can help the team for 2014-15 and beyond. I feel that with the current team we have now plus Hooker and Calcaterra coming in, we should be fine personal wise to compete and hopefully win the Big Sky next year. This way, Jones could look for any position (cause we will need help at just about anywhere) and hopefully can ease a transition from the Huff/Anderson/Webb/Schuler class to 14-15
  10. From my understanding, I believe he will have 2 years left and can play immediately. To me this is a low risk/high reward situation for UND. At worse, he is a guy that can come in and give us depth in a position we desperately need (a true center) and give us minutes where he can rebound, play defense, get block shots, and provide some putbacks. If he at all is a better version of Wilmer at the Big Sky tourney, which he has potential to do so, we will close the gap considerably on Weber and have a solid starter at the 5 next year.
  11. Thanks for all the kind words, but I will also be back next Fall to start work on my Masters Degree
  12. I would like to be the first to say congrats to all my fellow student who are graduating today at UND. I am also proud to say that I will be one of those students receiving a Bachelor's Degree today as well.
  13. What we know (non-conference) NDSU SDSU @BGSU Potentially UNI UNO
  14. As with the men's thread, NCAA came with recommendation of rule changes for the women http://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/article/2013-05-09/ncaa-committees-recommend-rule-changes-mens-womens-basketba Thoughts?
  15. NCAA came out for these recommendations for the Men http://www.ncaa.com/news/ncaa/article/2013-05-09/ncaa-committees-recommend-rule-changes-mens-womens-basketba Thoughts?
  16. New arena in Sioux Falls will seat 10,450 for hockey, why not there?
  17. I'd figure it would be ISU as well, since they have had a history of playing against NDSU and I think SDSU as well. I think 1 year ISU came up to play NDSU at their barn.
  18. Figured it was time to start the new thread for 2013 UND hopes to improve on their 15-17 (10-10 Big Sky) record and their first round exit in the Big Sky tourney. For a team that had 16 of its 20 members as underclassman, last season had its ups and downs, and never seemed to get consistent. The good news is all 20 are slated to come back and appears to have had a solid spring season. Incoming Recruits for 2013: DS Candice Yager (St. Michael-Albertville HS, Albertville, MN) OH Anna Pioske (Waconia HS, Waconia, MN) OH Kellie Schmit (Kindred HS, Kindred, ND) Schedule: 20 Big Sky conference games (home/home with each team) NDSU Texas A&M (Fall tourney) Big XII team (Fall tourney) "Got this from the spring volleyball recap http://www.undsports.com//ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=13500&ATCLID=207501362" With the experience coming back for Year 2 in the Big Sky, I fully expect the record to improve and to be a contender for the conference crown next year
  19. He plays on the same Fury team as 2014 interest John Veil (PG, The Blake School), who I really like (hard nosed bulldog like PG and has a will to win). Stats from Ngor's junior year at John Marshall, where they went to the 1AAAA finals before losing to Lakeville North (2014 offer JP Macura's team) 10.5 PPG, 47.7 FG %, 66.7 FT%, 6.4 RPG, 2.0 BPG With another strong summer and a year being the guy at JM should help improve those numbers. His best game last year was a 18 point, 18 rebound game against conference foe Owatonna
  20. A little blurb on 2014 offer Ngor Barnaba from Rodchester John Marshall (MN) http://cityofbasketballlove.com/2013/04/philly-jam-fest-notebook-april-27-afternoon-session/?utm_source=twitterfeed&utm_medium=twitter The insert here: In his first time in Philadelphia, Ngor Barnaba had to have made a solid impression on the coaches who checked out the Minnesota Fury’s 17U squad. A 6-foot-9, 220-pound power forward, Barnaba is more than just a big body, showing the ability to put the ball on the floor and even hit the 18-footer. A Sudanese native who moved to the United States when he was just a year old, Barnaba said he only has an offer from North Dakota but is hearing from “STSU, NDSU, Lehigh, Northern Iowa, (and) New Mexico.” La Salle was one local school who watched the Fury’s final game of the weekend.

  22. I would be ecstatic as well. He currently has 13 offers, including us, but he hasn't gotten any of the big boys offers (just interest from Iowa State, Iowa, Wisconsin, and Minnesota). I bet by the end of the summer he does get an offer from Baby Pitino. He will end up being the biggest prize outside of the Big 3 (Tyus, Travis, Vaughn)
  23. Ryan James ‏@RyanJamesMN 2h North Dakota head coach Brian Jones and assistant Gameli Ahelgbe are meeting with JP Macura at Lakeville North today.
