back-to-back 3's by McD! 21-13 UND
-
An impressive defensive performance and an excellent shooting performance by Doug... I mean Adam McD lead to an impressive victory over ISU. Now UND turns its attention to Big Sky leader Weber State. UND took a 74-62 setback against Weber in the first matchup, including giving up a 20-20 game to Bolomboy. UND is 0-8 all time vs Weber. An opportunity exist to knock off the Big Sky leaders at home and give this team a lot of momentum going into the biggest road swing of the year (EWU/Idaho). It will be a tough game as always but if they can put it all together against Weber.. I don't see why they cannot win. With that said, they do need to find a way to get Joel off the boards. He absolutely destroyed us with 23 rebounds, including 10 on the offensive side. Shanks, Avants, and Drick will be tested against quite possibly the best player in the conference. Senglin needs to be contained as well, as he can light it up from behind the arc. Hooker and Geno need to be ready for some tough D. Other Games: ISU (5-4) @ UNC (5-5) MONT (8-2) @ PSU (4-5) EWU (6-4) @ SUU (2-8) Idaho (6-4) @ NAU (1-9) MSU (4-6) @ SAC (3-6) The Call: UND can play with Weber, it has shown it in the past, however it just seems like 1 or 2 stretches of play seem to be the difference between Weber winning and UND winning the game. Something as got to give here. UND plays well for 40+ minutes... and pulls an upset in overtime UND 77-75 OT

The other winners tonight: Weber, EWU, Idaho, Portland, and in the upset of the night... Sac State

of course Hooker gets a triple double when I DONT watch the game. But I can finally use this! It was a good day!

After dropping a close one last week, UND finally gets back on the home court to take on ISU, who is rolling into town on a 4 game winning streak. UND has never lost to ISU in Big Sky play, going 6-0 and including a 84-76 victory in Poky this year. However, this will be a stiffer test with how Telfair has been playing lately and he drop 37 points in the first meeting. Luzcando is also coming off a big performance (30 points) against NAU. UND will enter its toughest stretch of the season. Home against ISU, then Weber. Then a trip to EWU and Idaho on the docket. Then a home docket with UNC. To spell it out, UND has a crack at the four teams that currently sit at the same position as UND. UND has a crack to win the tiebreakers with ISU and EWU with victories. It will be a tall order for UND to get all 5, no question about it. Could they... you bet! Could they lose them all... yes. Will UND still be in the running for the top 4 seed when it is all said and done? We start answering that question tomorrow night Other Games: Weber (7-1) @ UNC (5-4) Mont (8-1) @ Sac (2-6) MSU (4-5) @ PSU (3-5) EWU (5-4) @ NAU (1-8) Idaho (5-4) @ SUU (2-7) The Call: Bassy's Bro and the Chilean kid will keep ISU competitive, but UND will want to defend the home court, and I look for Avants, Drick, and Shanks to have decent to big games in the post to come away with a 10 point win UND 81-71

Just what Gimbel needed... another weapon to match with Huot. He will enjoy being in Sauter's Offense

Provided they don't get snowed in.

Make it 4 in a row for the Women. a 3 point win over UNC. Climbed back to 5th place in the league. Weber and ISU on the road. Lets make it 6!

Missed opportunities... now the standings are a mess time to bounce back at home.

I think he will be trading his Bison decal for a Star one

That is the one thing that I have noticed since I moved down to the Cities from GF. Have a gas station that is down the street that has changed its price 3 times in the past 4 days! I'm used to that in a month in GF!

I don't remember who I was talking to Fall semester, but from what I gathered the players at the very least though highly of the Rugby Rifle.

Idaho receives a blow as their leading scorer is out indefinitely with a wrist injury.

After an impressive road sweep, UND will again return to the road to take on their travel partner and former NCC rival UNC. Since it is travel partner week, this is the only game these two team have this week. This is an important game for both to close out the 1st half of the season. A UND win gives them a chance to gain some separation from the middle of the pack teams in the Big Sky and stay two back of the leaders. It would also give UND a steller 4-1 road record on the year. UNC holding serve at home would mean after a dismal 1-4 start to conference play, the Bears will find themselves back in the thick for that 1st round bye for the conference tourney. Since joining the Big Sky, UND is 2-4 all time against the Bears, including a 1-2 record in Greely. UND will have to contain a potent Bear offense to get out of Greely with the W. Very guard oriented. Early Prediction: UND has been playing well since the 2nd half of the Weber game. I think they are playing with a lot of confidence coming off that road sweep, but so is UNC. In the end, UNDs perimeter D will hold UNC in check just enough to come out of Greely with their 6th Big Sky win 77-70 UND Other Games (I will list all the games for the week on this thread) Thurs 1/28 SAC @ IDAHO PSU @ EWU NAU @ Weber SUU @ ISU Sat 1/30 PSU @ IDAHO SAC @ EWU SUU @ WEBER NAU @ ISU MONT @ MSU

I like the storm out on the court to confront the officials and get T'd up.... when the team is down 1 approach- Mike "I still hate Kentucky with all my being" Davis

I am in the camp that Shank's issues is more mental than anything else. I don't know if a trip to the bench will help. I personally like Avants off the bench.
-
I like how on this road trip that Avants, Seales, and McD had solid contributions off the bench. I don't see why this team couldn't get that first round bye in the conference tourney.

The new standings (PSU should beat Sac State, up 14 with 2:30 to go) Mont 7-1 Weber 5-1 UND 5-3 Idaho 4-3 MSU 4-4 UNC 4-4 ISU 3-3 PSU 3-3 EWU 3-4 SUU 2-5 SAC 1-5 NAU 1-6

I'd prefer stopping them on the goal line... twice! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jS9PGrMpvgM
