POLL: Should UND-NDSU Resume the Football Series?
geaux_sioux replied to ShilohSioux's topic in Football
I'd bet around 200k that UND is looking better and better to GT down in Fargo. The bottom line is the bottom line. -
Has anyone noticed how different the play calling is this week by coach Breitbach? I've seen some very good route combos and ways to exploit mismatches.
-
We're talking minimum 8-peat
-
Cut the crap they lost two or three good players from last year and a couple role players. They're more athletic this year and have been in position to make plays but have missed tackles. The secondary played their best game of the year against SDSU, only one blown coverage and most catches were contested, they now need to do a better job of breaking up those contested passes and getting a pick or two. They're better than they've been playing. Also with the youth at certain positions they will improve every game.

The D is going to show up this week. They are pissed off and embarrassed. The run game will make an appearance on saturday. Sac St. <20 UND>42 It's statement time
-
All I have to say is that if we host a playoff game that SOB better be sold out and LOUD
-
And why did Rocky get run out of Fargo? Not beating UND and 'off the field issues'. When was a coach ever let go of because of anything to do with off the field stuff?
-
I and any of my teammates/friends who were recruited by both schools noticed that UND only talked about UND and how good it would be for UND to get 'a player like you'. NDSU on the other hand would ask 'who else is recruiting you?' and then go about saying what is wrong with those other programs and why NDSU is better and how lucky you are as a player that NDSU would even consider you. NDSU recruiters came across as dicks and UND recruiters made you feel like family.
-
NDSU has a history of having more guys get in trouble. It's a fact. Not smack. What I'm getting it is possibly the way they recruit is more attractive to the type of guy who would be more likely to get into trouble off the field.
-
First hand experience and I'm not the only one.
-
Have they had good attendance since the 70s?
-
Mooney said nothing about them being out of scholarships, he wad told he was too small to be a Bison but that he would be a great locker room/weight room guy. In his words he said 'cheerleader in the weight room'. Ndsu has always used negative recruiting while und has always been positive. Why do you think UND usually gets more high character guys?

I'm guessing the director of that video was a fan of teh Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. This year the video is improved but those speakers need to be replaced, the ones at the Englestad are obviously super expensive but they blast. You get what you pay for with sound equipment. Maybe they're too afraid to offend fans at the Alerus by blasting some good ol rap music that would get the students and players jacked. Ps. Mr. Hajdu, can we get a smoke machine and green strobe lights in the helmet when the team runs out? That would be sweet to have after/during a loud awesome intro. If the fans are shown that the team is a priority they will want to see them.

How bout the football team wins a lot and fans get off their asses and make it a good atmosphere on more than every 4 3rd downs
-
The only problem with Hanson is that he doesn't have the rocket arm to make those 'NFL' down the field that need to be frozen ropes. That and mobility are the two huge advantages to Marcus playing. Both are really good, my gut still goes with Hanson even though I've always been a big supporter of Marcus
-
I'm just pointing out that people are over reacting to how awesome Marcus has done probably due to the fact that the QB play has sucked recently and they didn't expect him to be this good. I on the other hand have been always saying that he has a strong arm by NFL standards and more speed than anyone would guess and that his only issue has been maturity. Now that he's mattured its extremely satisfying to see him produce like he has when he could've quit like a lot of people would have. Whoever plays is going to do great, the offense is in good hands.
-
One thing needs to be made clear, Marcus hasn't played 'lights out'. 54% against sdsu and that horrible pick 6 were not great. He missed some throws that a guy getting this type of praise should make in his sleep. He's also getting a lot of help from his WRs. His legs have been his/our saving grace on third down but we can't count on them all the time. I'm not sure how I've gone from the one touting Marcus and how good he is to me trying to take the red s off his chest but people need to sip the kool aid instead of chugging it bisonville style.
-
Hanson is better, more accurate, more consistent, and is better at reading and manipulating coverage. He earned the job for a reason. Marcus has played very well and deserves a lot of credit but Braden earned the job because he's better.
-
He's played well but can play better. He's not the only one. Expectations are higher than that.
-
He needs to be more accurate though, at least 60%. He's missed too many throws the last two games.
-
It should stay on bisonville. It would be abused elsewhere
-
per Wayne Nelson, Hendrickson will start this week and Hanson returns to practice. Looks like the coaches are being smart with Hanson and letting him knock the rust off and strengthen his leg.
