Our season stats are skewed from Mark Mac. He was our reliable faceoff guy. We've improved since he was injured after that rough stretch but there is a reason people push for simo to be in the lineup and that is because he's one of our best faceoff guys. However you want to look at it this could be the one weakness of this team. Everything else looks solid right now and the scoring is so spread out that its not like a team can just focus on one line to keep us off the scoreboard.

I never said that goal was his fault. He was solid in his d zone.

His next development will be strength which should lead to a better shot better speed and better defense. We have to remember that he is a string bean still and has tons of weight to gain.

He did fumble around a bit but overall his game was good. I noticed the goal obviously and a couple shaky moments on the puck but other than that he blended into the game like good stay at home defensemen often do.

The SCSU first goal was a good example of how it can cost us. After that the whole team locked down and they didn't get any opportunities like that again, they were all blocked. QU owned faceoffs but we won puck battles.

Couldn't agree more. That's something you teach kids, keep your head up. Skating with your head down puts the skater in danger and with the new rules is unfair to the defense.

The point that I'm making with this is that the one weakness of this very well rounded team is that they don't have 4 guys that can consistsntly win faceoffs like we've had in the past. If we get a lot of penalties in Boston, we play BU in their home town, it could bite us in the ass on the pk.

What on earth are the Bruins going to do with their goalie prospects? Any clue who they value higher between Zane and Subban?

Basically 50-50 is not good enough. There were a lot of important faceoffs lost this weekend. Every other phase was rock solid.

From what I've seen Eichel is a front runner. He lacks toughness and can be taken out of a game. Duluth did a good job on him.

He didn't try to fight through it though. He knew it was a penalty and went down and embellished a bit.

Interesting stats from last night: SCSU hit the net on only 30% of shots with another 30% being blocked, UND hit the net 50% of the time. Not only is Zane the best in the nation but the guys in front are selling out to help him.

I felt like Quinipiac killed us on faceoffs. Also last night didn't seem like we dominated faceoffs. I didn't count but that's how it felt. What were the numbers?
