Quote from Bubba "As always, we will build on the positives and address negatives of each performance. We need to eliminate penalties! We need to take advantage of scoring opportunities when we get field position in our opponents, this will create momentum for our team. We also need to eliminate explosive pass plays, these plays give our opponent momentum. These three concerns need to improve as we get ready for our next conference opponent."

Something to keep in mind is this game is after two very tough games for Poly and their buy week is after this game. And they have to come all the way up here. I bet they either play on fire or flat.
-
Thank you. If everyone picks Poly we're doomed.

If blarney stone and you like whiskey drinks ask about their whiskey with cinnamon and apple slices bathing in it. I forget what it's called but a double tall of that with lemonade is unreal. Need to be careful though because it goes down way too easy.

Nobody has that goal. The best goal is to be 1-0 each week. That's thebonly way to win 5 in a row let alone 1

MSU had zero holding penalties on offense according to SFI

I'm trying to picture what it will be like if the focus eventually shifts from stopping Santiago and only him. Right now we can exploit that by not using him in a traditional way which seems crazy but it worked last week. It was strange to see how different their defense was last week when John wasn't on the field.

The second part of my post was tongue and cheek.... Kinda of

People absolutly were calling for Wentz. Bisonville was set ablaze with Wentz mania from the time he was a rs fr. He was better than Brock but Brock was winning.

#4 Kyle Lewis for Poly is the guy that could break our backs this game. We need to contain him. He can score every time he touches it.
-
This year I'd like to see 2 scholarship qbs. We need to get to the point where the backup is the most popular player to the fans. Any time the starter makes a mistake were should be able to complain about how the second string guy would be doing so much better.
-
You can sell a recruit on them being a missing piece of an offense. Instead of them being lost on the field with 5 other WRs every play they could be the go to guy. Sounds pretty attractive to me.

My thought is that if the last staff had no problem finding play makers this staff can too. It really hurt us to lose Dev Ferguson. He was a baller. We took one deep shot against the Bobcats to Stanley but he got one hand tied up by the defender. One of three important missed obvious PI calls that would've helped us. I expect two deep shots this week.

I believe you're referring to Tamy when you say Williams. Williams - I think that was his name - was a great OL prospect from Canada and he never made it to fall camp.
-
This OL depth problem was caused when Mussman had a class with 1 OL in it and he was an average D2 quality OL who transferred when Mussman was fired. The trickle down takes a couple years but here we are. That left us with zero margin for attrition. When the class with Grady was announced it was stacked with really really good OL. Williams never showed. Merz had his injury situation. Grady had his situation. Now we sit here with razor thin depth at OT. So in other words, yes, we need a lot of hogs every single year because !@#$ happens.

Twitchy. I like it. Seems to have a bit of an edge too.

If he can get up around 300 and keep his athleticism it will be a man against boys in the trenches.

Poly's QB is a beast. They will pass more and more effectively than last year. Our DBs will be under a lot of strain on saturday and will need to be extremely disciplined with their eyes. We can't afford to get burned deep on a couple of TD passes. We will need them to make a couple of very good plays on saturday if we want to win. Their D is also very fast and did a good job against Santiago last year so I expect more of the same this year. This is going to be a tough ass game. If we can knock their QB around and get him out of rhythm it will be huge.
