  2. Got to the scrimmage today, hadn't been to a practice in a couple years and it was nice to be back. Torrey struggled. The coaches are all over him which is good because we need him to contribute. Agree on the punting with Teeder. None of them look good enough but Bulduc has a clear edge. He does look much better than he did as a fr. He had one really nice tight spiraling punt that flipped the field. Toivonen looks good, not great but good. By the end of the year he should be a go to player. If he can add more suddeness he can really be something. Cloyd is really built for a FR. He looks like he's been in the program for three years already. That said his blocking could use a little work. You can tell he has strong heavy hands and when he does get ahold of his guy he has nice leverage, he's just not consistent as a blocker yet. On the long play Teeder mentioned he looked great. High pointed the ball and plucked it out of the air. He moves better than I expected. The other fr TE Pinke is way thicker than I was expecting. He had a nice catch in traffic. Those two will be a really nice combo for years to come. Gordon looks quick and sudden and strong. That's just another quality back in the stable. Nevermann runs really hard and always goes forward. I'm excited for his contribution this fall. Again more quality depth. Santiago defines bigger faster stronger. He's just fun to watch. My boy Olivera is a load and is quicker and more flexible than last year. The sound his pads make on contact is incredible. He brings the boom. The first OL group was pretty good. Snaps weren't perfect but Coe is coming along. He is a brick !@#$ house for sure. The second group even looked pretty decent. The fr, as was said before, are wet behind the ears going against an all vet DL. Bennet really burned them bad on a play. FR LBs Marler and Hunt had some nice tackles. The d as a whole looked markedly quick and really go to the ball like I haven't seen since Digger was here. They are turning into a bit of a wolf pack, always hunting. The front seven looked really good. My boy Holm struggled a little but made a nice break on a ball and almost scooped and int near the end. The WR group wasn't getting a ton of separation and I'm not sure if that means improved coverage or not. No DB got burned today which is obviously a good thing. Heidlebaugh moves really well but his Tim Tebow throwing motion has to improve if he's going to be a true #2 qb for us. It's so bad that I think he may be a natural lefty and doesn't know it. Bartels looked pretty good today in his few throws. Still has the Byron Leftwich wind up but the ball sprun pretty nice which he hasn't done since he was a fr. Overall the team looks focused but also has fun. Nobody was too high or too low. I think they're pretty close to being ready to kick ass this year.
  3. Shula is not a QB guru.
  4. Griese played on a team that ran as a first second and third option. Don't get it twisted.
  5. Don Shula was an old school pound the ball coach. He was not a qb guru.

    2016 Season

Bolant is the Seibel of the secondary, hopefully.
  7. 58% 2200 yds 20 TD 6 int. His next year was 64% 5000 yds 48 td 16 int.... Even Marino was a bit of a game manager as a rookie. And that's all you can really ask. Luck who was considered the best since Elway was 54% 4300 yds 23 td 18 int. They asked him to carry the team with over 600 attempts and he didn't do awful. Big Ben was the ultimate rookie game manager and he had 66% 2600 yds 17 TDs and 11 int. A lot of people think Tom Brady won a Super Bowl as a rookie but he was a second year game manager who did 64% 2800 yds 18 yds and 12 ints. What I'm getting at is even the all time great started out as simple game managers and evolved into gun slingers. I think Wentz will do the same, book it.
  8. Seriously who was the last rookie QB that actually tore it up straight away as a rookie? It doesn't really happen.

    2016 Season

His PT is probably every day and coach Baukol does a great job with hamstring development which is huge with ACL recovery and prevention
  10. I got your pic right here.

  12. They should put him at LB for that game so he can get another sack
  13. Head over to Vapor Stars. Locally owned by good guys.

Based on how his legs look id say that's a safe bet. He is built.
  15. It's really easy you just allow then general population to vote on it then you end of with the most unique and dynamic name possible because there is no such thing as regression towards the mean.
  16. NFL network?
  17. I won't be able to watch the game. Updates would be greatly appreciated.

  22. If we are in need of games against NDSU SDSU and USD we should join the MVFC and the Summit. Both make more sense for us, a lot more.
  23. It's gonna be a team effort til we get our stud back....
