They don’t even try. Perception is reality and the fans can tell that for the last while the AD couldn’t have cared less about football and other sports, just hockey.

Not so sure about that. It would be close I would guess. My point is, hockey was not self sufficient to get to where there are and football in particular would be way better off if they got to keep their other half mill a year to work with.

I don’t think it’s sustainable or flexible to over-rely on one big donor. There is also potential that other donors donate less because they figure the Engelstad family will pick up the slack.

We don’t need them. We’d probably have a healthier athletics program without them. They aren’t the only ones with money.

What are the Ralph and the Betty worth without our teams? We can’t have one “booster” calling the shots for our university. This isn’t healthy, they couldn’t care less about the welfare of UND. We need to cut ties with them as soon as possible. We have other people who actually want what’s good for UND who have money.

The blueprint is out there for how to beat the breaks off of them. It remains to be seen if we have the horses.

Even though it’s sewn in it’s not crazy expensive to cut it out and replace it. Given that it’s the Alerus I won’t hold my breath.

Center ice/court/field makes a different statement. It’s the most important graphic real estate for any sports venue. Their stance is clear and it only widens the gap between the fragmented fan base. Having it at center ice would do wonders.
