  1. Makes me wonder if guys know how much protein they actually need to consume to gain the weight they need. For instance, does Jaelen Johnson know he needs to consume 260g of protein a day to get his weight up to where it needs to be?
  2. MSU, WSU, and NDSU lines are good measuring sticks and we came up very short in those comps.
  3. Name one player who came in under an ideal weight who left smaller.
  4. If you let players put themselves above the program you have a problem on your hands. See the Mussman teams as example of what happens when a good portion of the roster thinks they’re above the program, that the program is lucky to have them. It should be the other way around. In other words, no.
  5. We need to start valuing the program. Bubba Bucks devalued the program. Letting a kid flip in recruiting and then ask him to come back? Hell no. No player is above the program. He had his chance and left us out to dry very late in the game. We can’t allow ourselves to be that desperate looking. Perception is huge in recruiting.
  6. Seems we went deep quite a bit this year though.
  7. I’m sure 360 will post it in their game breakdown, if they do one.
  8. I say screw that. He had his chance to come here.
  9. Tell those 2006 and 2007 teams they were mediocre.
  10. No clue. Saw him in on one play this year. He redshirts this year and hopefully improves his hands and intermediate route running for next year. We need speed.
  11. Who is the Brad Johnson- like qb you’re thinking of?
  12. Even though we threw for yards yesterday we had zero separation and it showed once we got to the red zone. There’s a reason we didn’t score a TD. Separation is king in the passing game. A complimentary running game helps but athletes that can separate is even more important.
  13. That punt was the !@#$ icing on the !@#$ cake.
  14. I and many others were a bit flummoxed when they were championing the OL losing weight to be able run the new offense more effectively. In the end we had no ability to run the ball because we couldn’t move anyone, go figure.
  15. Hmm, your “logic” seems.... off?
  16. FWIW I always viewed what he had us do as the bare minimum and did a ton of extra stuff on the side.
  17. Let’s refrain from sticking words in each others mouths for starters. This was one area where he and I disagreed. We had many discussions about training philosophy and I learned a lot from him but that doesn’t mean I think he preaches pure gospel. One thing I agree with him on is lifting big to get more resilient and explosive, this is backed by science.
  18. This game boiled down to three plays. Kett’s personal foul which killed momentum and moved us back eventually resulting in a missed fg. Ketts fumble resulting in a huge momentum swing and a TD for nicholls. Blubaugh absolutely whiffing on a blitz for an easy sack leading to the long TD pass for Nicholls. Those are three very easily avoidable plays. That takes 14 pay off the board for them and could have resulted in 3-7 more for us. That absolutely changed the direction of the game.
  19. There’s a whole lot of roster fortification that needs to happen first.
  20. You’ve got to think they’re going to undo that horribly stupid idea of trimming down the OL last year. They should all gain 10-20 lbs for next year or we will be in trouble against the better MVFC teams. We got bitch slapped in the trenches this year and it cost us games that were very winnable, yesterday included.
  21. When you look at what Kenny Golladay became after a year in the weight room under Baukol and how much faster Greg Hardin got over the course of his career you have to wonder if Baukol is too often being asked to turn Honda Civics into Ferraris. And for nutrition, some people will say what you eat is 70% of your results. When you look at quite a few of our players it’s clear diet is an issue. Not sure what the current situation is with education and standards but it needs to improve.
  22. Wait wait wait, have you not heard? We will win zero games in teh mighty valley.
  23. He had us do plenty of stretching. And for the 40 times are you considering the measurement tools and how they compare to the combine and hand times?
  24. So if Baukol doesn’t believe in stretching why does he have the football team stretch?
  25. Well that was embarrassing. Where does the program currently sit? 1. Our WR group is too slow/white. It just is what it is. Our WR does not look D1. Tall slow white boys can ball but if that’s all you have it makes it really hard to get separation against even an average secondary. 2. OL too small. This position group has been a disaster under Bubba. 3. DL too small. This position has also been a huge problem under Bubba. You just can’t run a 3-4 with smallish DL. We either need to recruit DL with body types like what Weber State has or we need to change to a 4 man front. 4. Clock management..... that’s all I need to say about that. 5. Our RB group was neglected for 3 years and it shows. Somehow all these other teams can find dynamic big strong backs. We haven’t had one in a while, that needs to change. 6. OLB depth? Not good enough. We only went a legit 3 deep this year. 7. Safety play has been poor since Reyes left. Bubba has really struggled with safeties for a guy who used to coach secondaries. 8. Overall we lack size and athleticism. Is this SC coach’s fault or is it recruiting? Or both? Personally I feel like Bubba has done what he’s capable of at UND. I don’t know about you but I’m not ok with barely making the playoffs and getting our !@#$ pushed in and that being considered the second best season under him.
